Next weekend's Punchestown round has been moved to RosegreenThe current horrendous weather conditions have caught up with the Prodrift Irish Series. It was announced today that round four of the championship will not be taking place at Punchestown as planned, due to the terrible condition of the car parks at the Co. Kildare venue. The event has been relocated to Rosegreen, Co. Tipperary on the same day, July 29th.This is a bitter but unfortunately unavoidable disappointment for Irish drift fans as the high-speed, sweeping Punchestown course was generally reckoned to offer the greatest challenge of all the locations visited last year. The possibility of returning to Punchestown later in the year is now being investigated.

Berlin, May 31 (Prensa Latina) German authorities have put in place strict restrictions on entry to the Heiligendamm sea resort on the Baltic, where the G-8 (Group of Eight) summit meeting will be held next week.
The resort is surrounded by a seven-mile, eight-foot high fence with security cameras and sensors to ensure protesters are not able to enter the summit venue.
The no-entry order from Wednesday will be in force till the conclusion of the four-day meet which will start June 8.
The resort will host the heads of government of the world’s seven most industrialized countries, plus Russia, who will discuss the opening up of international markets and climate change, among other topics.
Despite the ban, activists from all over the world are organizing protests during the summit.
Besides Russia, G-8 comprises Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Britain and the US.

The trial for a class action lawsuit against the Pinellas school district will remain in Clearwater, but will draw jurors from all over the county, a judge decided Tuesday. Plaintiffs wanted the trial moved to St. Petersburg, which was a fairly unusual request, since few ever care where a trial is held within the county. But this is a case about race. The lawsuit alleges that the school district has failed to undertake programs that would reduce or eliminate the achievement gap between black and white students. Plaintiffs wanted the trial moved to St. Pete, where a more racially diverse jury would, in theory, be impaneled. The case is scheduled to go to trial in the fall.

ZIMBABWE has rejected an offer to play Australia at a neutral venue, and accused John Howard's government of renewed efforts to topple President Robert Mugabe.
In a protest against Mugabe's rule, the Australia government barred Ricky Ponting's team from travelling to Zimbabwe for a scheduled three-match tour in September, prompting Cricket Australia (CA) chief executive James Sutherland to suggest the world champion could play the series at a neutral venue.
"That is wishful thinking ... the International Cricket Council (ICC) says Zimbabwe can host the Australians and any other cricket country here," said Zimbabwe Information Minister Sikhanyiso Ndlovu overnight.
He said the move to cancel the tour, and the Australia government's announcement that it is increasing funding for civic groups in the southern Africa country, is part of efforts to ostracise and unseat Mugabe.
