Last Saturday, Body Shop had organised a 1st ever Charity Makeover Marathon in awareness of Pave - Centre for Promoting Alternatives to Violence where full proceeds from the makeover will be donated to the Pave organization. At the same time Body Shop was also making a history in the Singapore Book of Records for the largest number of people having makeovers over 12 hours. so there we were and me the "ugly duckling" So I tag 2 other gals (whom I know are crazy over these kinda stuff) - Aunt Lala and her daughter Nurul. Not Subtle, but Effective Political Statement There is nothing objective in filmmaking. Even the most "pure' documentary is still a subjective statement (what did they film that they are not showing you?). Narratives are totally manipulative, since they are scripted before any kind of production takes place. Some movies really lay it on thick, especially those with an agenda to drive home.
