Most people know that Vice President Dick Cheney is sometimes joked about being “Darth Vader” from Star Wars. Well, on Wednesday President George Bush commented on this nickname, saying that Cheney didn’t even need to dress up to play the “Star Wars” villain for Halloween.
“This morning I was with the vice president. I was asking him what costume he was planning. And he said ‘I’m already wearing it.’ Then he mumbled something about ‘the dark side of the Force,” Bush said jokingly.
However, Dick Cheney himself has also joked about him being portrayed as the Dark Lord of the Sith, in which his most recent comment was at a speech to the Washington Institute for Near East policy. He said, “I’ve been asked if that nickname bothers me, and the answer is, no. After all, Darth Vader is one of the nicer things I’ve been called recently.”
