As many of you know VMware finally released Fusion for the Mac. Fusion allows you to run Windows within a MacOS. It is by far the most seamless way to run Windows within a Mac.
Fusion has all of the nice features that VMware Workstation for the PC has with some additional features. One of the nicest features on Fusion is the "Unity" feature which allows users to interact with Windows applications on Mac OS as if they were Mac applications.

Every so often someone will use the feedback form, or find me on IM, and ask a random question. I try to answer as many of them as possible, and occasionally the questions lead to tutorials here on Simple Help. Yesterday I wrote out a fairly long answer to a reader submitted question, and it dawned on me that I should consider posting these on SH, even if not in tutorial format. So - here’s the first one -

My name is Jane and my aunty gave me your details. She said you were a great help! I was wondering if you knew the difference between Paraelles and Bootcamp and which one is better? I have a mac osx 10.4.8 and need to run windows so I can run CAD programs. Am I able to do this from this version?

Parallels runs while OS X is running. It opens like any other window (like Safari or iTunes) but inside that window, you can have a fully running “Windows”. So
El equipo de VMware no quiere perder el ritmo de mejoras para su versión de la popular plataforma para la Mac OS X conocida como Fusion con el lanzamiento hoy del beta 1.1. Ahora que su competencia Parallels se ha puesto las pilas, Fusion responde con apoyo a DirectX 9.0, sincronización con iPhone/Outlook, mejor funcionalidad con Unity y BootCamp, y mejor compatibilidad con Leopard.
El beta pesa 170 MB, y el periodo de evaluación sólo dura 30 días. Algunos de los parches más importantes corrigen el problema de compatibilidad con el Airport, que causaba 100% de uso del procesador.La que más me pica la curiosidad es la sincronización con Outlook y el iPhone en Windows…interesante.
