The Uttar Pradesh government late Saturday decided to ban Bollywood blockbuster Jodhaa Akbar fearing “breach of peace”.
“We have decided to ban Jodhaa Akbar following intelligence inputs that indicated a possibility of clashes among communities,” Principal Home Secretary J.N. Chamber.

Madhuri Dixit’s comeback film Aaja Nachle was back in theatres in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh on Sunday after the state authorities decided to give it a green signal following the removal of some controversial lines from the title song.An official spokesman in Chandigarh said the authorities in Haryana had asked the district magistrates to ensure that the objectionable part in the film’s title number be deleted before public exhibition.A decision to allow screening of the film was taken by the Punjab Government and a notification in this regard was issued on Sunday.

Lucknow, May 16 (IANS) As many as 21 passengers were killed and 35 injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Budaun district of Uttar Pradesh Wednesday.
The bus got caught as two trucks racing with each other came from the opposite direction on the Moradabad-Aligarh highway near Majhola village, about 400 km from here.
“Apparently, the bus driver tried to save the vehicle but there was little that he could have possibly done”, said an official.
The dead included six women and five children. The wounded were hospitalised in Badaun, Aligarh and Etah.
