The Unwritten Words of the Chleuh’s - My Lovely Southern Family Roots
This is a short article about the North African tribal groups referred to as ‘Berber’s. Today, most tribal people try to coexist with and in the western world. This is both good but also bad, because if we westerners just keep forgetting, then what is a democracy really? And the tribal people need to tell each [...]

For some of you who have read this blog for a while, you know how I feel about the unwritten rules of baseball. If you're just getting an introduction to this blog, or don't know my stance -- I think the rules are stupid -- no matter how anyone tries to justify it to me.In the New York papers this morning -- Joe Girardi, whom I have found to be a tad overrated as manager despite the wonderful job h

      The Unwritten Adventures of Youth
When I was young Toy soldiers battled along the strands of green nylon fibers That crowded the rug in my parent’s living room,  This - my forest of antiquity Forever buried and mostly forgotten. Where dreams occasionally replayed, like the 16 mm reruns which ran on the old black and white floor model TV, strategically placed for optimum viewing in a predetermined area by my father. Memories

Pagan Music Friday - Your Future is Unwritten - Today Begins a New Life
I know that I’m “cheating” again with this blog feature by highlighting a mainstream song instead of a Pagan tune. However lately it has become one of my favorite songs because of its messages: to embrace moments of beauty to use each day as a fresh start to believe in the potential of your own life It is a great uplifting song [...]

Your Blog - Is it Unwritten?
I have heard in my online travels that writers, authors and even Bloggers can get writers block. I have also noticed that thousands of Bloggers have joined us here in the "Rain" and have not written their first post. Can I ask why you joined? Was it to try and gain knowledge about the industry? Was it because of a compulsive (must join) behavior you might have? Maybe you are just afraid of what people will think when you write, so you're holding back and keeping your Blog Unwritten. Here's a video that addresses those writers and bloggers who either have a block, or are just afraid to write for fear of others opinions. I have included the words on this post. I wanted to see if I could inspire other writers to "dive into the rain" and get beyond their inhibitions or fears. There is

      The Rest is Still Unwritten
I had a friend break up with me last night. Gawd that sounds so teen angst-y doesn’t it? It feels that way. In short, because I grew a conscience and grew up, I ‘have changed’ too much to be her friend. I am ok with that, I’ll claim it. In fact I am going to flat-out embrace it. I *have* been going through a lot of changes this year. I’m rethinking my priorities, and realizing what is important to me. I’ve examined my values and found them lacking, and have worked to rectify that. I’ve found a focus with my writing, and I’m making goals. For the first time ever, I feel like I know who I am, what I want, and where I am going. I am dropping extra baggage, and only keeping what is important to me. Sometimes change is good. Share This

Review Unwritten—Katherine Paterson's Bread and Roses, Too
Just after putting down this latest Paterson book, I had idea after idea about what to say. That was a month ago (at least) and the details have now faded. All my brilliant points of critique, all my Deep Thoughts. Oddly, details of the story itself are not lost, nor are one or two things I'd thought when I first read it. This is probably for the best—the things that remain will be the most important. I'm reading a printed collection of Katherine Paterson's lectures, The Invisible Child. The first is titled, "In Search of Wonder," and in it she writes, "If knowledge without a sense of reverence is dangerous, morality divorced from wonder leads either to chilling legalism or priggish sentimentality. I am always nervous when some well-meaning critic applauds my work for the values and lessons it teaches children, and I'm almost rude when someone asks me what moral I am trying to teach in a given book. When I write a book I am not setting out to teach virtue, I am trying t
