According to the source Rentomatics.com -- which pulled from its 8 million apartment listings -- rents for apartments varied greatly during 2007, rising in San Francisco but falling in Phoenix, thus proving that real estate is actually a lot more complicated than simple calculations involving incomes, prices and rents. In places like Phoenix, it wasn't an over-supply of apartments that hit median rents, it was an over-supply of new, single-family homes that compete with apartments for the same tenants. From an MSNBC story:A curious thing happened during 2007 while the mortgage market was imploding: Median apartment rental prices in major cities shifted dramatically, dropping by up to nine percent in some markets — Phoenix — and rising as much as 14.6 percent in others — San Francis
Who's ready for a whole mess of jumbled up thoughts?
Because that's pretty much all I've got. You see this guy?
He's still sick. When he's sitting in this chair watching Baby Einstein, A.K.A. Baby Crack, is pretty much the only time I'm not holding him. After his 4 day bout with high fever, he broke out in a rash and Dr. Kristi, my sister diagnosed him with roseola. And I concur. But please
"Hereby it is manifest that during the time men live without a common power to keep them all in awe, they are in that condition which is called war; and such a war as is of every man against every man. For war consisteth not in battle only, or the act of fighting, but in a tract of time, wherein the will to contend by battle is sufficiently known: and therefore the notion of time is to be considered in the nature of war, as it is in the nature of weather. For as the nature of foul weather lieth not in a shower or two of rain, but in an inclination thereto of many days together: so the nature of war consisteth not in actual fighting, but in the known disposition thereto during all the time there is no assurance to the contrary. All other time is peace.read more
Well, that photo was a disappointment. It was an experiment to see if I could use on-camera flash and have a photo look right. In some instances you can, but not this one. What you see above is the result of nearly an hour in photoshop. And it still looks like that!Anyway, I thought it would be time for another Q&A. But before I get to that I'd like to let you know how the remainder of my afternoon went. To be concise, not well. To be more specific, anxiety-ridden. I even took an extra .25 mg Klonopin to help out. I'm not sure it's done anything. Nonetheless, I have a busy few days ahead of me and am informed that next week is looking very, very good. The busier I am, the more money I make. The more money I make, the closer I am to buying my own house, paying off student loans, etc. You know the drill.Okay. So if you're a new reader, every now and then I do a Q&A. I look at the most recent search engine queries and attempt to answer those those questions dire
A new twist on the story I posted on July 18 about the mother of a slain 4 year old facing deportation.Now we have the father of that same boy getting arrested in Lexington, KY on charges not related to the murder. But they are related to his status as an immigrant.Louisville Courier-JournalSlain boy's father arrested on an unrelated charge César Aguilar, the father of the 4-year-old boy whose body was found in a garbage truck last month, was arrested yesterday in Lexington on charges unrelated to his son's death. Aguilar is being held at the Lexington-Fayette County Detention Center on possession of a forged instrument, a class D felony, and several traffic violations. Federal immigration authorities also placed a hold on Aguilar at the jail, according to jail records. The story then mentions funeral arrangements and how this poor man may not be able to attend. *sniffle* Please excuse me while I get a tissue. Aguilar was booked into the jail under the name Carlos C
Good evening! Today I am writing another little personal update, along with some random perfume thoughts and questions. Many of you have asked about the event I was organizing... Your inquiries warmed my heart :) The event itself was the first annual Cultural Festival... Considering it was the first, there was so much anticipation in the air: the outcome would determine whether the festival
The current situation has been taking up a lot of brain and blog space. This weekend was pretty relaxing, consisting of a lot of doing "nothing".Which is nice.I putzed around my Target store, bought a couple of needless items that were on the dollar rack. (is it me this year or was the Target Summer 'seasonal' section underwhelming?)I also took the opportunity to go to the Coach store for the VIP event, and I got a new purse (and wallet) 25% off!You can't beat that with a stick.I am going on record to say that this summer is going to be crazy. I have a bazillion social commimtments (something going on each Sat. or Sun.) every weekend through the end of August. The thing that bums me out is there always seems to be conflicts. So although it's nice to be social, it sucks when you RSVP to something and then get another invite for the same day. I hate to miss out on people and fun.And on the fertility front, my pregnant self is still here. I went for another beta this morning, a

It is kinda strange to think about that this image was made the same day as the previous post on bark. The two almost look like they were taken at opposite ends of the world. Sometimes you really don’t know what you are going to get on any particular outing.

Three problems I have at the moment:
* Banks
* Letting Agents
* Inconvenient timings
My tenancy in my new flat in Bristol is due to start tomorrow (7th May), but I plan to pick up the keys on the 12th and move in fully by the 17th.
