Despite several setbacks, Ann Arbor development remains strongJoseph Freed and Associates is sucessfully moving forward with several new downtown commercial and residential Ann Arbor projects.  Once dubbed Citi Center Lofts and planned for condominium fame, the student housing apartments at the corner of Washington and South Division will now be called 4Eleven Lofts.  The project began with a demolition of a building on site this summer.  4Eleven Lofts will be marketed as upscale student rental housing.  JFA reports sales are slow but not at all disappointing.  Ashley Terrace, located at the corner of Ashley and Huron Streets, is slated to open by the end of 2007.  Retail is planned for the first floor with offices on the second and 99 condos above. To quote: “There will be a sequel to The Darkness video game sooner [rather] than later.” Developer Starbreeze Studios is currently hard at work on the second FPS-action horror quest, which is said to be for Xbox 360 and PS3, and is set for a late 2008 / early 2009 release. In a bizarre trial that is currently underway in Singapore, 50-year old Amutha Valli is suing the Novena Church over an alleged exorcism. The plaintiff is claiming that the exorcism occurred on August 10, 2004 and left her traumatized and unable to work. Amutha Valli, a former national athlete, had a long-standing history of psychiatric involvement and, according to defense testimony, had been "slithering like a snake, shouting and screaming like Satan and marching like a soldier" before the alleged exorcism occurred. Two new Phase III clinical trials of Acomplia — one of them by far the largest yet — are now underway as part of an effort by developer Sanofi-Aventis to assess the potential role of the drug in reducing the risk of heart attacks or strokes in patients with abdominal obesity and other risk factors. The task is truly mammoth as – never ones to do things by halves – we will have to re-do every single image contained on the whole of the site to allow for a new custom image template.
