You have likely heard it a million times already, Firefox 3 is a very nice improvement over version 2, especially in the performance department. And while many still prefer to stick to their own improved versions of Opera and Safari (sorry IE, you are a disgrace right now), Firefox is by far the most used alternative browser. I believe that comes in part thanks to its flexibility for customization
Pizza in Japan is the stuff legends are made of. The delivery pizza in Tokyo that cost $100. The feelings of a homesick gaijin on being confronted with toppings like seaweed, mayonnaise and tuna, often on the same not-really-quite-pizza base. And, for those living in rural areas, the longing for even a pizza like that when the only place to eat out is the local soba shop. Most expats quickly adjust
One of my favorite things is sticky velcro. It's just a great way to attach two things together... especially when you want to be able to separate them and then re-attach them as needed. One of the things I always use sticky velcro for is the decorations hanging from my front door. See, I always have some kind of wooden "Welcome" sign hanging from my door... usually decorated in tune with whatever

I absolutely love getting emails like this:
“Tim, I just wanted to thank you for An American Hedge Fund and PennyStocking. My boyfriend was the first to read your incredible book and now my boys, Charlie, 6, and Julian, 4, can’t get enough of it; they make me read it to them every night! And your [...]
My wife and I are gearing up for the upcoming summer season. During this time we will take many trips down to the local beach with our son. There is nothing like building sand castles with a one year old while your skin bakes to a nice golden brown tone (or red in my case). All jokes aside, the sunshine, the warm weather and of course family, make these day trips a wonderful experience. While making sure we have all the summer necessities, my wife realized we needed a swimsuit for our son. He is growing so fast, so anything we had before will no longer fit. My wife went online, did some research and settled on an outfit she bought from Lands End. They are a wonderful company with excellent customer service and great prices. She was fortunate to get this particular product at a discount.
On Saturday, I guess you could say I took the day off. I spent the day with my mom and grandma in Middletown, and had a very nice, relaxing day. I haven't been able to see my mother for a few weeks — so it was a nice change of pace.Coming Sunday, I am going to write about two people — Debbie Wertalik and Steven Rogers.Wertalik is running for the North Arlington Board of Education, and Rogers is running for the Nutley Board of Education. Both are very unique people — and neither is what one might consider a typical politician — you know, the kind that makes your stomach turn. While I decided to stay clear of the Kearny Board of Education race for numerous reasons, these two people and their respective races are too important to pass on. And by the time I am finished, it is my hope re
¡Mi Dios! ¡No puedo utilizar mis manos! ¡Soy tan joven! ¿Qué ha sucedido a mi vida?Diva, 9x12" Oil on Canvas PaperHi. My name is Staci and it's been nine days since my last post. My life feels like a soap opera but not as interesting...I just hate it when life gets in the way. For those of you just tuning in, the joints in my hands and arms have been sore and weak and it's causing me pain. They think it's arthritis (yeah! ...oh, wait.) and they've given me medication to help stop the deterioration, but it will take one to three months to kick in. And, as a side-effect, I could go blind. I'm also going nuts - thank goodness I still have a sense of humor! So, I actually got a good smile on my face yesterday; two wonderful artists created Etsy Treasuries and included some of my work

Complete the look with a BCBG cardi wrap, black pearl earrings and a cute clutch. The entire look blends perfectly togeth
I was randomly emailed these wonderful images with no info attached to them. If anybody knows the origin of them, I would be eternally grateful cos I think they are both incredible images. P.S. Is that train robot tank for real?!! If it is, then why haven't we seen more of it?

At the risk of offending everyone, I want to recommend two very different blogs I regularly read. They are so different that they may in fact appear to be polar opposites. One is a group blog with lots of interesting posts by self-described feminist law professors: Feminist Law Professors. The other is the blog of the Massachusetts-based Fathers and Families organization, written by its

So, for some reason, this morning as I went about getting ready for my day, I decided that these two songs would go together. Why? Beats the hell outta me...I don't post a lot of Rock around here, but I've got plenty of it in my collection, because I'm all well rounded and shit. I've always thought black dudes who rock are a bit extra-cool, and D.C. punk legends Bad Brains sure know how to rock out... for a bunch of Rastas, that is. Smokin' all that ganja usually makes folks kinda mellow and Dorito-fiendy, but not these dudes! I think I've always particularly loved this song for the cool a capella intro, but it's pretty damn kick-ass all the way through...Bad Brains - Soul CraftYup, sometimes you just gotta throw on the ol' combat boots and hop in the pit. I used to do that, but because I weigh a buck-40 soaking wet, it didn't work out too well for me sometimes. Dudes would literally pick me up and throw me around like a football. No bueno! But how about some music you

Last week I played with Simfonika from Vrhnika again. On Saturday we played in Skofja Loka, on Sunday in Cerkno. We played many famous arias. Our special guest was Janez Lotric. He is world famous tenor opera singer. It was truly amazing! In both events there was about 2500 listeners. You can check the TV comment here (4MB) Second guest was Vera Mlejnik. She sang very well too. The conductor of Simfonika in Marko Fabiani, also the Associate Concertmaster of Symphony Orchestra RTV Slovenia. I think he is very good conductor and musician! Damijan Bogataj was the producer and organizer of these 2 successful concerts. I've played with Simfonika about 6 times before and I hope I will play there again. When someone will publish any good photos from the concert I will publish them too.Marko Fabia
I have two older mares for sale, both taught me how to ride and how to listen to the horse. The first one, Paris, is around 23 yrs old, chestnut Quarter horse mare. She is very quiet and patient. She is good with the farrier and to tack up. She isnt good with the vet: I think she had a bad experiance. I have taught my nieces how to ride on her, and she was very tolerant and patient with them. She does love to run, but will NOT run off with you. She knows all the gymkhana events and has won ribbons in all of them. Paris is very fast and athletic, but knows when to slow down for kids. Next is Cj. Cj is around 28 yrs old. She is a flea-bitten grey arabian mare. She is the stubborn one who will teach you a lot about listening to the horse. Even though she is older, she does need a more experianced rider than Paris does, just because she does have that Arabian blood which makes her want to have her way more. With Cj you have to know how to work with her and not try to control her. Onc
My ultimate goal in life is to become a stay-at-home mom. My one job is working from home, but the second isn't. I would love to be able to work from home only. On Eve's Home Business Blog, she has it all mapped out on how to run a business from the comforts of your home. I love seeing all this information in one place! Check out the "Articles" tabs, she has sections on time management, earning money from your blog and more.Eve also has another blog that is called Confessions of a Housewife. I really need to follow her suggestions, especially this post. I'm going to have to give it a try!
For me, the two greatest programming problems in Computer Science right now are a) how to bring masses of data together and b) how to easily deploy functionality. Certainly there are lots of people working on parts of these problems, but it does not seem as if people have really put the issues into focus or looked at the bigger picture.Underneath, software is just a tool to manipulate data. We can capture mass amounts of data, but we have trouble using it. There are enough degrees of freedom in our technologies that each group of developers can choose to implement their models differently. As such, it is a higher order problem in general to combine any two sets of data. No amount of code or algorithms, will ever solve this issue. If we can't bind the data together, than we can't make use of it as a single collection. Concepts such as data warehouses try to avoid the issue by making copies of it in other locations in other formats. The amount of effort and administration to make this

In a hope that it would somehow not tempt fate with the weather, yesterday I went sunglasses shopping. I'm a sucker for designer pairs. It's ridiculous considering how much they're marked up, and how easy they are for you to loose / baby to scratch, but I just can't help it. The first pair I fell in love with is by Dolce and Gabbana - one of my personal fav sunglasses designers. Creator of some of the best (and worst) sunnies. The worst? you might ask? DG 2013BU - those with the big rings at the temple with the dangling DG letters? Not so nice. Anyway, here are those that I do like, the DG 6013: It's also available in black, white or pure brown, but I really like the havana/brown above. They're retailing for around $230. My second pair was these Gucci GG 2936/s:I think this horn coloring is really great and quite on trend just now, but they also come in mottled brown or black. These are priced around £ 164.00 on the web. I love the shape of both these and the DGs - very f

A couple of weeks ago you may recall one of my posts, about Veronique and I attending the BlogHer Business Summit in New York. During the two-day function we had an opportunity to meet, speak, and listen to some pretty fantastic bloggers. There are a couple in particular that really impressed me and I wanted to share them with you.Firstly, there's Carmen Van Kerckhove, who authors the blog Racialicious. Racialicious (formerly known as Mixed Media Watch) is a blog about the intersection of race and pop culture. There are daily updates on the latest celebrity gaffes and no-holds-barred critiques of questionable media representations. The blog is typically fun and often humorous, even though the content can sometimes deal with something many folks don't particularly like to address.I mention Carmen's blog because--in my opinion--it's a great example of what a niche blog is. Carmen has really established a voice for her blog, simply because she sticks to the topic, and delivers re

When we were in Santa Barbara last weekend, with friends from the Bay Area, we tried a restaurant we had not been to before, Ca'Dario . It is a small Italian, intimate restaurant that has been around for a long time and has gotten the rating "Excellent" from Zagat Survey for the last three consecutive years.Starting of with a glass of wine in the small, cozy bar, we were soon seated. We started our meal with sharing the outrageously good Risotto del Giorno, which happened to be Wild Mushroom this particular night. True Italian risotto, creamy, silky and oh so tasty! We continued with splitting the Insalata Ca'Dario, a salad with radicchio, arugula and shaved Parmesan. Fresh, crisp, and light. For main course I ordered Penne al Salmone e Panna. A hand made pasta with smoked Salmon and a white sour cream, dill sauce. Pasta perfectly cooked al dente, tossed with generous amount of smoked salmon and perfect amount of sauce. The pasta was not at all "floating" in the sauce as you so many
