For this week's theme, I found several things to photograph around the house, both pleasant and unpleasant. The first two are from the kitchen - a fruit basket made of twisted glass and a handcrafted coaster made of woven abaca (Manila hemp) fiber. The third one I found in the bedroom, behind the PC, printer, scanner and other gadgets stacked in one corner of the room. It's a twisted mess of wires and cables! Yikes! Meghan Goss over at the Humane Society of the United States shared with me a horrifying undercover video detailing the outrageously cruel treatment of sick and weak cattle in the Hallmark Meat Packing Plant in Chino, CA. These already sick and dying cattle were forced to stand, so they could be "processed" meaning, slaughtered, by torturing them in myriad ways. According to the video (which I could not bear to watch) and Goss, this included "shocking the cows with electric prods, jabbing them in the eyes, shackling and dragging the cattle, ramming them with blades of a forklift, and spraying high pressure water into the cows' mouth and nose" to simulate drowning. Well, Twisted Shootout is finally out.Like I say, it will not be so much fun to play. You can expect that in later versions, but not now.Nonetheless, Twisted Shootout is the most developed game ever by me.Now that I finally announced the release, I can start developing the next evolution of Twisted Shootout.It will have a revamped map system at the very least. I hope for better enemy AI and better battle mechanics(ok, that is maybe too much?). I been working on a game called Twisted Shootout over several months and finally it is almost ready for its first release.Twisted Shotout is a 2d shooter game inspired by the game Metal Slugs but the first release of the game will probably not be very fun. However, it marks a milestone in my game development journey. I finally actually complete a playable game and it is also the furthest in development!I do plan to try to make twisted shootout a fun game though as the development of the game goes on.For now, I have a techdemo available for download for testing purposes. Let me first state this simple fact: I think CBS’ NUMB3RS is one of the best TV shows out there. Ok, I don’t understand the math and sometimes, I even think that they are making it up a little. Nonetheless, it’s a great show. With that said, the romances that have been written in the show are getting harder and harder to believe. First, there is Charlie (David Krumholtz) and Amita (Navi Rawat). Now this love story looks OK on the surface. But the obvious lack of spark between the two characters makes this hard to believe. Now, we can blame the actors for not having any connection or we can blame the writers for trying to jam this down our throats. For crying out loud, in the episode “In Security”, Charlie and Amita have a kiss that looks staged at best. They need to squash this story right away because it is just getting worse.
