      Welcome to The Tuscany…
Picture this... You work in town... maybe even Midtown.  You enjoy the cool and eclectic variety of restaurants in that area. Gas is $4/gallon, and you are tired of spending 30-45 minutes each morning and evening driving out to your house in "the 'burbs." Maybe it is time for a change... After all, there is all of this talk [...]

      Vacation in Tuscany
Planning a vacation in Tuscany can be a daunting task, especially for first-time travellers to Italy. We have observed in the past that the first place to start is in deciding on the type of vacation you’d like to experience. There are basically four types of vacations. First is one of the most popular types of travel - The Guided Tour. There are many companies offering this type of vacation including Perillo Tours and Trafalgar to mention just a few. Tours in Italy are great for people that want to see a large part of the Italy, moving from hotel to hotel every few days and prefer to have their itinery planned for them. We recommend tours for many first-time travellers that don’t have a lot of time to spend in one area. The second type of travel is the cruise. “Tuscany Feast” 2007.
On the 30 of November Florence celebrates the abolition of death penalty. With the “Tuscany Feast” is celebrated a day that has marked the history of this region and even of the whole country: the day of the Riforma Penale Promulgata, promulgated the 30 November of 1786 by Pietro Leopoldo of Lorena, Grand duke of Tuscany from 1765 to 1790. The reform Leopoldina, with whom the grand duke established the demolition of the hanging wherever it might be, represents an act of great civilty, that makes the whole region worth honour and it’s an important step in the history of civil rights. In occasion of the first “Tuscany Feast”, on the 30 November 2000, quite to confirm the “no” to death penalty and the refusal of entire centuries of inhuman acts, in Piazza della Signoria took place the fire of the gallows and of all the ancient torture instruments. Moreover, the city of Florence wanted to put in the Customs court in Palazzo Vecchio, a commemorati

Its existence, however, has the advantage of signifying that water and electricity are already on site, thus minimising the need to deal with megalomaniac local government.

Covering 4,200 acres Castello di Casole is one the largest private estates in Italy. Situated 20 minutes north of Siena and 45 minutes from Florence it was originally home to the illustrious Bargaglli family, and later the film director Visconti. The estate is classic Tuscany in every sense, as one realises driving along the tiny roads which meander around the estate through sunflower fields, vineyards and olive groves. The estate actually produces a respectable crop of olive oil, wine and sunflower oil, some of which is sold to local hotels and restaurants but most of which is kept for residents of the estate.

I would enjoy having the freedom of a car here, to do the remote villages and countryside justice. But I truly enjoy the chance to sit on a train and watch the landscape, with little effort on my part beyond trying to stay awake. I always seem to pop back to reality before my stop, however, and haven't missed one yet. Perhaps I am being watched over by the animus of some ancient Etruscan who once roamed these hills and valleys. That's a comforting thought.

      The Hyundai Tuscany in Korea
When the Hyundai Tiburon sports coupe debuted in late 1996, it caught the attention of others around the world including myself. Although the design was sleek at the time, I never considered owning one (I was a die hard Honda fan--I have previously driven a '94 Acura Integra RS, '95 Acura Integra GS-R, and '98 Acura 1.6EL). It was the "it's still a Hyundai" mentality that some import car enthusiasts had. However, times have changed and Hyundai is now one of the leading car manufactures in the world. For those who are not already aware, the Hyundai Tiburon goes by the name of the Hyundai Tuscany here in South Korea, and the Hyunda Coupe in other worldwide markets. What does a Hyundai Tuscany look like? It looks the same as the Tiburon in North America. Here are a couple pictures of the Tuscany, if you are not already aware of what one looks like:The 2007 Tiburon:Were you ever into the import car scene (or currently still an avid fan)? What kind of car do you drive? It is...a Hyundai?

      Tuscany a la Deutsch
The holiday company TUI has paid 250 million euro to purchase the crumbling medieval Tuscan village of Tenuta de Castelfalfi. TUI plan to transform the village to offer “an authentic rural experience” for German tourists. Temporary residents of the village will enjoy a spa, golf courses and an all inclusive resort serving locally produced wine and food in the company of another 3,200 Germans. Tuscan landscape by sergie melki I think it’s a fallacy, if you want to enjoy Italy then there is absolutely no point in staying in what amounts to a purpose built resort even if it used to be a “real” place. alongside compatriots. Olive Garden cooking school in Tuscany?
Olive Garden is one of those places that really sets my blood to boil. Every time I hear the word 'Hospitaliano' I begin to cringe and twitch. When I hear them say 'When you're here, you're family', I can't help but visualize the corporate offices of a chain with nearly 700 cookie-cutter restaurants. I'd just love to show up there one day waving my hands saying 'Ciao!!! It's cousin Michael'. I wonder what kind of Hospitaliano I will receive when I h [...]

      Under The Tuscany Sun
I recently watched the movie "Under The Tuscany Sun" it is an awesome movie. I highly recommend anyone who uses the Law of Attraction to watch it. It is about a lady who recently gets divorced and moves to Tuscany. She buys a villa and wants to have a wedding and a family in the house one day. It is based on faith and believing what you desire is on its way. At the end of the movie the director talks about how the movie is based on having faith, and going for something even if you are not ready for it. Most people spend their time getting ready for something and never take action. If you truly desire something "Just Do It" don't be the 97% of people who say well someday I will. Cause usually if you wait chances are you will never pursue your dream. So have you asked yourself lately what it is you truly desire? Take time to think about what you desire and then have a plan to follow your dreams. Just have the courage to do it!I find it to be a very positive and motivating movie. You real

The Journal of a Gardener in Tuscany - March 2004 Part I
The Iris Season March 13th 2004 ? It seems that every wall, every verge and every garden in Tuscany grows Iris bulbs and they are now growing frantically, long green blades like tropical grass, ready to spring a colour on us, are everywhere. I hardly noticed these lovely flowers until I first went to Italy, but here they are everywhere and the road to Florence is lined with walls, pots and flowerbeds sporting Irises. The longer days, and some warm weather this week, means spring has finally appeared and has some catching up to do. The locals here still say this has been the hardest winter in Tuscany for some twenty years, and this follows the hottest summer in closer to half a century. The last snow has left La Doccia and is only visible higher up the mountain near Vallombrosa Monastery, the weather seems to follow consistent three day patterns during the spring, 3 good days are followed by 3 bad days. The bad days mean snow, fog and rain but the good days, although frosty in the mo

      Agriturismo Olivello in Tuscany ...
Agriturismo Olivello in Tuscany "Agriturismos in Italy, Gîtes in France, and Ferienwohnungen in Germany offer the chance to step away from the intensity of city life and into the earthy elegance of the countryside. These rural B & Bs—typically on working farms—provide a great home base, ideal for couples or families traveling by car. Some agriturismos are simple and rustic, while others are downright luxurious, offering amenities such as swimming pools and riding stables. The quality of the rooms varies, but they are always clean and comfortable. Most places serve tasty homegrown food. Some are vegetarian or organic. Others are gourmet. You may sit down at the table with your host family or cook up your own dinner in your kitchenette. You'll find agriturismos that offer cooking classes or horseback riding lessons and those that simply set you free on the surrounding hiking trails. It's up to you to sort o
