That approach appeals to parents in Pakistan, who want their children to be capable of competing with the West without losing their identities to it. The Turkish bath, or Hamam, is a cultural institution in the Middle East. After a visit in the Hamam, a customer finds his muscles relaxed, his body cleansed and his mind refreshed. A customer arrives to the hamam, changes into a robe provided by the bath and enters a beautifully decorated, mosque-like sauna. A masseuse then massages the customer with soap and water for approximately 15 minutes and then bathes the customer with soap and water. The hamam is a body and mind-cleansing experience. Beyond being relaxing and hygenic, the hamam has also become ironically a place for conversation and deal-making. Served it with a Mexican corn salad on the side. I find unleavened flatbreads very healthy & versatile. They are made out of whole wheat flour dough only, which just has to be kneaded (as the Daring Bakers tag line comes to mind...We need to knead), no question of leavening agents, prior preparation etc, & above all, no preservatives .

Today in Turkey, its another Saturday and Darussafaka, the basketball team my dad plays on, are going up against the #2 team in the Turkish league, Galatasaray. The star player of Galatasaray, Dee Brown, and another important American power-forward sat out this game which gave us the better chance of a win. I say that because Darussafaka wouldn’t have a chance without my dad, Eric Chatfield and our other American players. Turkey is preparing to publish a document that represents a revolutionary reinterpretation of Islam - and a controversial and radical modernization of the religion. The country's powerful Department of Religious Affairs has commissioned a team of theologians at Ankara University to carry out a fundamental revision of the Hadith, the second most sacred text in Islam after the Koran. The Hadith is a collection of thousands of sayings reputed to come from the Prophet Muhammad. As such, it is the principal guide for Muslims in interpreting the Koran and the source of the vast majority of Islamic law, or Sharia. But the Turkish state has come to see the Hadith as having an often negative influence on a society it is in a hurry to modernize, and believes it responsible for obscuring the original v

Auburn-and-White Turkish Van CatOften referred to as the “Turkish Swimming Cat”, this naturally evolved breed is said to be particularly fond of playing in water. It takes its name from the geographically isolated area around Lake Van, in south-eastern Turkey, where it has been domesticated for several hundred years. In some ways, it resembles its fellow countryman, the Angora, but it is sturdier in build and immediately recognizable for its distinctive coat pattern.HistoryTwo Turkish Vans were imported into Britain in the 1950s by a couple who were struck by the unusual markings of the cats they saw while on holiday in Turkey. The pair were found to breed true, and after a slow start, and the introduction of more Turkish stock, recognition was granted in 1969. The popularity of the br

One of the cats attracting human beings' attention for centuries, having silky white fur, different colours, perfect hunting abilities and loving to play with water is Van cat.The fossil of ancestor primitive of modern domestic cats can be seen about 12 million years ago. It is known that domestication of cats was made by Egyptians in 3000 B.C. The domesticated cats were treated as holy creatures and respected as goddess.
