This week is very interesting for most people that care about personal finance because the stock market has lost 500+ points during the last few days. Tomorrow is going to be interesting but the long term outlook should be great so do not worry if you are like most of us that buy into low cost index funds.
My Two Dollars talks about ten reasons we should quit our job today. (I can’t today since it is Sunday but maybe tomorrow!).

Neville Hobson posts on how an incorrect memo about iPhone and Leopard's delays leaked from Apple employees and found its way to Engadget, causing Apple's shareprice to dip momentarily (yet dramatically). I don't have information as to whether Engadget's post was solely responsible for that, or whether the memo reached investors through other channels, but it's a startling reminder of disapearing boundaries between internal and external communication and of the influence of blogs on corporate matters.Via an email from El Blogador.
{summary}Generally speaking, I’m not the weepy, sentimental type. It’s really hard for me to get the warm fuzzies, and I haven’t always been that way. When I was a kid EVERYTHING made me cry. I believe an apt term for my disposition would have been “hyper-sensitive.” I was so tenderhearted that the sight of cute puppies would turn me into a blubbering mess. I don’t know what happened. Maybe some teenaged boy broke my heart or perhaps too many mean-sprited comments from family members caused me to crust over, but eventually I was able to shut off most outward displays of emotion. The only way you can tell if I’m happy or pissed is to study my eyebrows and try to decipher whether I’m pouting or smirking. I’ve effectually taken on the countenance of an android: don’t take it personally if you meet me and I seem bored - I’m really smiling on the inside.
The thing about having a ki

As a few of you may have noticed, I am something of a know it all--on a number of subjects. This is because I have insatiable curiosity and dabble in different stuff from time to time (this is often called flighty). One of those things is finance. Once upon a time I had a Series 7 license-which is a piece of paper which permits you to act as a huckster of stocks and bonds. This is actually no great feat--thousand of unemployed kids with liberal arts degrees get them every year. But today, I have gathered my meager knowledge and experience together to talk about Tuesday's stock market drop.First of all, you should be happy about this. Most people have their money in pension funds, mutual funds, 401(k)'s, annuities, stupid life insurance policies tied to the stock market, etc. Most folks are not doing a lot of day trading. Each month a certain amount of money is taken out of your check and invested in stocks. The lower the price of stocks, the more shares you get. In twenty years
