Windsor, Ontario's hard-rocking trio released this project in 1999. Though they sound not unlike a heavier, slicker produced Stone Temple Pilots, TTP's 'Triptych' is nonetheless a decent rock album. Features 'Heaven Coming Down', 'Touch', 'The Messenger' & nine more.
I really can't say enough good things about this band. Triptych is another very worthy effort, perhaps their most mature work.
The idea to this show came from this thread at the Tips from the Top Floor forum.

Works by Francis Bacon have been big sellers at auction recently, and Christie's sale of postwar and contemporary art here on Monday was no different. Four tenacious bidders vied for his "Three Studies for Self-Portrait" from 1975 in what became the evening's longest bidding war, with two would-be buyers on the phone still running up the price, even as it passed $30 million. The final ta

Hi all,Yes I know my posting has been a little hmm, erratic of late but please guys…don’t take me to task as I have been slaving away to produce all manner of creative goodies such as the one you see here!Let’s call it a reawakening of my ethnic period!OK so I’m pretty smug about Elephant Walk. It started as a commission by somebody who wanted a variation of one of my other pieces Journeys End plus elephants (I so love elephants) in a triptych format (as you do)This was an absolute joy to paint. A chance to evoke everything I feel about Africa in a single image. Its visual beauty, nobility and sense of timeless wonder. Don’t you feel you could just walk up to those elephants and experience that sunset as another day fades on a faraway continent…ahh, we can but dream.Catch you l
Hi all This was a commission requested by a woman who had seen my original Wheels. However, here they requested me to do it as a Triptych rather than in the original Diptych design of the original… So, what do ya think? Well, I have to admit the design really suits the three canvas format. The composition has acres of breathing room whilst those intersecting circles really hold the whole painting together. Ah, but most importantly the lady in question really loved it…and that folks is what really matters! Catch you later Shirley
Hi all,As an artist I’m always on the lookout for ideas. (Aren’t we all?) Influences coming in all manner of guises, be it the work of someone I admire (the list is endless) a scene I see whilst out for a walk, a movie, or perhaps quite often a photograph. I’ve always been fascinated by ariel photos where landscapes take on that patchwork quilt effect, or those satellite images where entire coast lines are reduced to abstract shapes…ready material for the painter to capture, conjure and metamorphosize into something with a distinct ShirleyBod spin! What I love about Distant Shores is that it can work both as a purely abstract piece, free of deliberate form or subject matter, as well as working as an interesting interpretation of one of those ‘on high’ views of some shoreline (red sea aside!) However, in order to reduce that ‘ariel photo look (that ordinance survey feel) I’ve deliberately chosen the triptych format which splits the composition serving to emphasize i
I. Ascent
In the middle of my head,
a perfect pinwheel,
shining with a million colors,
spins all night.
In the middle of my head,
a surging thesaurus
bounces off the walls like
ten thousand ping-pong balls.
Sleepless,
body twitching,
white-knuckled,
I cling to reality.
I wish I were home.
II. Darkness descending
The sun has set
But it does not bring
Respite.
Now comes the
Dark night of the
Soul.
Fear and trembling,
The sickness
Unto death.
Slugs slither through my
Dreams leaving trails of slime.
The sun rises again
But brings no
Light.
Darkness above my head.
Darkness beneath my feet.
Darkness behind me.
Darkness in front of me.
Darkness to the right of me.
Darkness to the left of me.
Everywhere,
I walk in darkness.
In darkness,
It is ended.
III. The butterfly and the roach
I see a spicebush swallowtail butterfly,
A field of black and turquoise
Bordered with white, and underneath,
Large eyes of orange, as she stops
At each flower to taste its nectar,
But never stopping for long.
I see
Triptych - noun: Fine Arts. A set of three panels or compartments side by side, bearing pictures, carvings, or the like. I am a fan of the triptych presentation. There seems to be something that just feels "right" with the presentation of three pieces of art that have some degree of association with each other. Three images seem to be just enough to bring out a relationship without overstating a point or overwhelming the observer. Even within single images, the presentation of three objects is most often felt to be more soothing and complementary than two. I have at least two walls of perfect size in my home to allow the display of a triptych, and it is always fun to try and put together a grouping for these locations (I sometimes rotate them) that work well together. I currently have one grouping of abstract images that I made during an Antelope Canyon workshop and another grouping of waterfall images on display. I recently posted an image of a tree that I had gone back to photograph
Hi all,My first abstract triptych came out rather well (OK, sometimes you’ve got to blow your own trumpet!) I wanted a real diffused look with the colours bleeding to create an almost autumnal look of warm, rusty hues.I think the red/orange on blue works well as the complimentary colours really vibrate together fusing the composition whilst also lending it that slightly psychedelic edge. Nice to know all those caffeine fueled late nights weren't in vain!Shirley
Here is a card I have completed this morning I used black embossing ink, Stazon, embossing powders, Ranger Distress ink, whispers dye ink and numerous stamps. The purple outside mat is made from a textured background and this has been punched and tied through with purple assorted fibres in 4 places. The inside mat is made from ultra thick embossing and stamping into it whilst hot. Various rubber and clear stamps have been used to decorate both inside and outside and a metallic gold brushpen used to highlight the diamonds on the inside and all edged in Krylon Gold. Closed with two large gold brads and a piece of violet organza ribbon.

This is my first Triptych. The canvases are 8 x 8 x 0.5 ins. In this first stage I have drawn out the shapes and am laying down the first washes. I have chosen this rather bile-like green because I intend to be using quite a bit of red later. What an adventure!Technorati Tags Art, Weblog, Blog, Artist, Painting, Abstract
