If it hadn’t been for Terrell Owens, the Cowboys would have probably lost Sunday to a determined Washington team. But Tony Romo managed to connect with the big receiver four times for touchdowns of 4, 31, 46 and 52-yards leading the Boys past their archrival Redskins, 28-23.
After taking the lead at halftime, 10-7, Washington was outscored 21-13 in the second half by the big plays of Romo and Owens. If not for the quick strikes by the two teammates, the game may have turned out quite differently as the Cowboys defense struggled to stop the Redskins’ offense most of the half.
