For those who thought Shahrukh Khan only travels king size - this should be news. Yesterday morning, Shahrukh travelled to Kolkata in the economy class of Jet Airways and not on a chartered flight as he’s wont to do. His team, the Kolkata Knight Riders, took on the Deccan Chargers and SRK had to be in time for the match. As the first class seats were full, SRK did not mind travelling economy class.Says a co-passenger, "Shah (as he’s fondly called by close friends, including Farah Khan) flew to Kolkata with his entourage. Since the group was large, SRK gave the ladies the first class seats including his own and asked the guys to do the same.So while Bhavna Pandey (Chunky’s wife), designer Shabina Khan, Divya Kumar (T-Series Bhushan Kumar’s wife), Neelam Kothari, Seema Khan (Sohail

Few readers can have failed to have heard the basic tenets of Gulliver's Travels. Written in the 1700s, it follows the voyages of Lemuel Gulliver as he, through a series of misfortunes, finds himself at a variety of stragen lands, populated by even stranger creature.
Most people will have heard of Lilliput - the first land that Gulliver arrives at, where the inhabitants are tiny - six inches or
In 1788 Captain Arthur Phillip sailed his ship into Sydney Cove and one of the great cities of the world was born. Today Sydney is home to over four million Aussies who love to bathe in the glorious sunshine and surf on the open waters that break upon its wonderful beaches. Sydney Harbour is irresistible. Its famous bridge dominates the view, a magnificent feat of engineering. But for sheer elegance, the Sydney Opera House takes centre stage with its unique appearance and over 2,500 shows annually to keep the opera buffs fulfilled. Try to catch the Sydney Film Festival when all manner of Hollywood stars honour the city with their presence. If you’ve joined in with the Aussie spirit and sank one or two pints of lager, try burning off the calories with a climb up the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Caramel Bella Shakira arrived in Bangladesh on Monday as a United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) ambassador. Ms. Shakira is touring the cyclone-devastated country. On Wednesday, she appealed to the world community for help with rebuilding the schools in Bangladesh. She chatted with children who lost their parents and mothers who lost their spouses or children.
“The world should give a helping hand to rebuild schools in Bangladesh,” twice Grammy Award-winner Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll told Reuters in an interview. ” … because schools are the only place where children can pass happy moments forgetting all their saddest parts of life.”
In the Reuters article, Shakira mentioned that over 3,000 schools had been damaged in the cyclone that struck Bangladesh on Nov 15. Not only were schools devastated, over 3,500 people lost their lives and millions were left homeless after the storm.
Kudos to Shakira for making a difference and bringing the

“Gulliver’s Travels” is a great work of social satire. Swift’s age was an age of smug complacency. Corruption was rampant and the people were still satisfied. Thus, Jonathan Swift tears the veil of smug complacency off which had blinded the people to realities. In “Gulliver’s Travels”, there is a satire on politics, human physiognomy, intellect, manners and morality. In the first voyage to Lilliput, Swift satirizes on politics and political tactics practiced in England through Lilliputians, the dwarfs of six inches height. He satirizes the manner in which political offices were awarded by English King in his time. Flimnap, the Treasurer, represents Sir Robert Walpole who was the Prime Minister of England. Dancing on tight ropes symbolizes Walpole's skill in parliamentary tactics and political intrigues. The ancient temple, in which Gulliver is housed in Lilliput, refers to Westminster Hall in which Charles I was condemned to death. The three fine silk threads awarded as p

Do you like darkly sunny lo-fi bedroom indie pop-tronica? If no, you can stop reading now. If yes (or if you're feeling a bit adventurous) you might really enjoy the self-titled album from Travels. Travels is the duo of Mona Elliott (of Victory At Sea) and Anar Badalov (of Metal Hearts). The two met and fell in love as their bands toured Europe together last year and decided to make a record. The resulting collection of songs is intimate, passionate, and is the musical equivalent to a warm and fuzzy patchwork quilt that makes you cozy and just feels like home. It is mood music.I can even picture Anar and Mona sitting together playing these songs with only the warm light of a fireplace illuminating them; instruments in hand, red wine glowing on the table beside them. As shadows dance around the room their voices, their racing hearts, and their songs become one. Travels is a little like that. Despite many of the individual sounds on the album sounding poorly-recorded, the whole

Weve just got back from our central European travels!
A breathtaking country, and so clean.
It was really good for us to finally meet our development team in person rather than Skype, Email and Yahoo Messanger! After two solid days of thrashing out development issues, problems and all things OFF2 we managed to really clarify our goals and functionality requirements. Seeing first hand working queries on Hotel searches, Poer Shopper Flight Searches and Car calls to Worldspan at lightning speeds really made the trip worthwhile. Previous testing issues in our initial developments returned search results of anywhere between 7.5 - 12 seconds for a hotel, with Michael at the ready armed with a mobile phone stopwatch we were pleasantly surprised to see returned booking results of between 3 - 7 seconds on average :). Excellent news and well inline with our competitors results, actually a little bit quicker! Which the praise can only go to Gregor for building all the Java classes so efficien

CRANFIELD, Bedfordshire, UK (Oct. 15, 2007) - How far can the average customer drive a Nissan QASHQAI on one tank of fuel? The entire length of the UK and more if they drive economically.
Seven test drivers from the Nissan Technical Centre Europe (NTCE) in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, proved this recently when they took turns piloting a 1.5dCI QASHQAI from Land’s End on the southwest coast of England to John O’Groats on the northern tip of Scotland without once stopping to refuel. The drivers, who set off at 6 am on Sept. 25, averaged 67.35 mpg (4.2 l/100 km) on the 867 mile (1,387 km) run - a common route for UK endurance and economy tests. To their delight, there was still another seven litres of fuel left in the tank when they crossed the finish line at 17:30 the next day, enough to cover a further 110 miles (176 km).

Travels are a duo out of the Boston area comprised of two members of other indie bands you may have heard of before. Mona Elliott and Anar Badalov have also been a part of Victory at Sea and Metal Hearts, respectively. You may recall a writeup we did on them some time ago as well. The new album sounds great so far and I think you will really enjoy the song below for download.
The album will be self-released on October 30th and we always love to promote some true independent music so sample these tunes and then head over to their myspace to stay on top of things leading up to the release next month.

So after much discussion(and no planning) Dan and I took off for the mountains yesterday. First stop was the gas station over town.. you know one with a drive through car cleaner. An hour and a half later we headed for Leavenworth (my car was really, really dirty). I have been to Leavenworth a few times before, driving retirement home tours up from Seattle, only to find once I got there that I really did not have an opportunity to explore. So we finally took the opportunity. Wheeee... The food was fine, the ice cream was wonderful (although I enjoy ours more) but what happened to all the artists? After much discussion and some research I surmised that the price of shops and life in Leavenworth could possibly have driven the artists out of their fair town into Wenatchee or back to Sultan and Skykomish. I have to say I was disappointed that there were not very many studios or galleries. The ones that were there were very commercial and the items could be found in every town and village

All star adaptation of Jonathan Swift's satirical tale about a normal man who, after returning home following eight years of absence, relates fantastical tales about how he was thought to be giant in the Land of Lilliput, but was only six inches high in the Land of Brobdingnag. He also tells of his visit to the floating island of Laputa populated by scientists who are so obsessed with reason that they act with no common sense. Finally, he tells of his journey to the land where his disturbing likeness to the bestial Yahoos and his inferiority to the intelligent horses there makes him question the very worth of his humanity.Watch Gulliver's Travels Here
It’s just a concept for the time-being, but a pretty damn cool one at that. Via Yanko Design:
The next time you wanna capture a good panoramic picture of your vacation in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, put down that tripod and expensive digital camera. Use the Panoramic Digital Camera instead. Just make sure it’s sitting on a level surface, angle it, push a button and watch it spin to take the perfect 360º view of your surroundings. Everything saves to a memory card and yes it’ll do video too. Is it real? No, but it’s a sound concept.

Ah vacation…time to relax, get away from it all and really enjoy the good stuff in life. You leave your worries behind, and with any luck at all…not your toothbrush! But how to remember it all and how to pack it so you can find it when you need it? Simple: when you go on vacation take along some of the same organizing principles you use to stay organized at home. Then, just sit back, relax and enjoy…
Here’s how:
Use a checklist. Checklists are fantastic memory joggers, and are especially helpful for staying organized when doing something you do infrequently. The less often you travel, the more important it is to have a reliable and thorough travel checklist. Start by downloading my travel checklist and modify it to suit your travel needs. Then, add to the checklist after each trip to customize it even further.
Designate a place for everything. We’ve all heard the saying “a place for everything, and everything in its place.”
A few excellent articles have fallen into my Google Reader today.
The Information Diet, Mike at Vagabondish tells us how we can find more hours in the day and put them to use for something better.
5 Ways To Develop Independent Thought, comes from John Wesley at Pick The Brain and shows you don’t need to be a genius or even an intellectual to think independantly.
Things I wish I’d Know When I was Younger, is that a typo in the headline? Lifehack gives us a list. What do you think? This is something I’d like to write about sometime and hear what others think. Hopefully those links work for you, although I can read this one in Google Reader I can’t currently access the Lifehack site.
Sexy travel depends on the attitude the two of you bring to the trip...plus a few things like pre-planning, pre-packing, and a sense of imagination. Here are a few ideas to make your next getaway sexier, whether it's a single night in a nearby B&B, your honeymoon, or a once-in-a-lifetime trip:
Pack for Pleasure. Do a little pre-planning and pack more than just the necessities; pack some items for pure pleasure. This can be as mild or wild as the two of you choose: a how-to massage book and oils, sexy lingerie, feathers, silk scarves, let your imagination run wild...
Leave Your Worries at Home. Take care of all details you can before you depart, leave your phone number with relatives, then put your everyday concerns behind you. Make a pact to concentrate just

I went to Egypt last week and it was the best holiday ever. When I booked the trip, I told the travel agency I’m deaf. They were great, and said they would inform the Kuoni tour rep personally. I didn’t really know what to do about flight restrictions, what items could be carried on board or not, as I couldn’t find the information online before I left home. Walking through security check in, I realised lots of people were carrying clear plastic bags with liquid items in them. Ooerrr. In my bag I had insect repellent, sunblock, contact lens solution, and water. I walked straight through, no questions asked. Hmmmmm.
When I arrived in Luxor, the tour rep told me to go to coach number 5 for the hotel transfer. Unfortunately there were two coaches with number 5 on the front. Of course, I got on the wrong one. Fortunately, the rep came looking for me and off we went to the hotel. During the transfer, she explained to the group that she needs to look at me when speaking so
Hong Kong
During my younger days, I always have a chance to go traveling with my parents. My parents are typical Chinese. They do not like western food, western cultures and so on. Thus, the places that I had gone to are all within Asia. Some of the places which I had been to are Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan and Hong Kong. My mother had gone to China and Vietnam too. During the time where she and my father gone to Vietnam, I was in my Junior College studies. I did not go China and Vietnam. I do not like to go these places.
Among those places that I had gone to with my parents, the most enjoyable memory would be the Hong kong Trip. The trip to Hong Kong is a seven day tour. My father had made all the necessary arrangements. He had planned the trip on December school holidays so that I would be able to go along with them.
On the day of departure to Hong Kong, we had to left home very early. My father had asked for window seats when purchasing air tickets. I had the privileged of getting
Its time to travel, to discover the wonderful places around the world and to stay in that luxuriant resort that you have dreamed or traveling on the cruise ship to tropical destination, for the young people this can be easily to do, but for senior people this could be impossible to do, because they could get hurt or feel bad in the journeys or others kinds of situations, this is always concern for these old people, they think twice before making a reservation. For these people the most important thing to do is to purchase an elderly travel insurance, this is could be a lifesaver, For instance, if they need hospital treatment which could cost thousands of dollars and if they don’t have travel insurance they will not be able to claim it back. So, Cover My Travels cover medical expenses loss of personal belongings, passports and cash, travel delays or missed departures, as well as personal liability and legal costs, they also 24-hour medical service available. This post is going to link to all the posts I've previously written about assembling a tool kit for sketching plein air.
First off, everybody's idea of what they need is different - there is no one right answer. You need to experiment to find out what works for you. Different circumstances also require different kits - you need to think about where and how long you will have to carry yout kit
Upgrade: Travel Better asks Would you drive a free rental car?
Walking around Paris during the last week, I’ve seen a few Smart cars completely smothered in ads.
Finally I got up the gumption to inquire with a driver leaving a Smart car plastered with fish, advertising a plasma TV: “Do you get paid for these ads?”
“110 euros a month,” he said. “It pays for my gas!”
Would you agree to slather your ride in ads for a little extra spending money?
While the philosophically rebellious side of me says, “Hell no!” The hyper-marketed, over-commercialization of the world by ad agencies hell-bent on plastering every available six-by-six inch space with ads is what’s really wrong with the world.
The practical, realistic side of me says, “Bring it on!” If I could fund (partially or in full) my year-long drive across Canada by simply putting ads on my Civic, show me where to sign. Especially if I could trade in my Honda for the super-sweet GMC van abov

Last week, I was busy looking for hot deals online for our next vacation...ski vacation. There are activities like snowboarding, ski boarding and ice skating that my hubby and I consider dangerous. We haven't tried these winter sports before, therefore there are deemed to be dangerous to us....;D
If they are dangerous, why do you still want to go ahead with them ? Well, ...as I have told you...we
This is Mogwai's instalment to the Travels In Constants singles club on Temporary Residence released last year. However they managed to get their hands on a limited number of copies for people who were not lucky enough to get it first time round. Track 1, simply called Untitled starts with drifting guitars building up to a driving atmosphere laden with haunting vocals before gently placing you on the ground with the words of a monologue bringing you to your senses. The next track Quiet Stereo Dee builds you up gradually leaving you expectant for a dramatic end but instead drifts off into space. This brings us to the final track Arundel is a Papa M cover and is a gentle piano instrumental, a relaxing end to a great single. This is one of Mogwai's best singles since No Education = No Future and it's a shame that it is limited. There are however samples of the song on Mogwai's web site so you can hear what you are missing.Site : Mogwai Similar Artists: Explosions In T
Seems the time for travel/internet hybrid shows has finally come. First there was 5 Takes, then more recently, GlobeRoamer TV.
Now there’s Word Travels - a 13-part half hour travel series to be broadcast on Canada’s OLN in early 2008. And who are the incredibly lucky participants in this new venture? None other than previously featured travel writers Robin Esrock and Julia Dimon.
Must…suppress…murderous…envy. Just kidding. Congratulations to both writers, and no doubt, you’re probably looking forward to the first episode of this sure-to-be-interesting series.

Microsoft eyes future of teleconferencing with RoundTable, a product that is scheduled to debut by mid-2007. RoundTable is a table-top device, not much bigger than a traditional speaker phone at the base. It can be connected to a standard PC to offer synchronized voice and video conferencing. The device creates a 360-degree, panoramic video of side-by-side images of everyone who is taking part in the conference. It tracks the flow of the conversation, so the image and voice of the person who is speaking are spotlighted. People across many locations can attend meetings together virtually. The product which was termed as RingCam would be in market for around $3000The product is ideal for the two types of conferenced business meetings.
