Doing some quick calculations in my head, I came up with a rough estimate of $8000 a year for my family's two vehicles. Unreliable and expensive road transportation is a growing constraint to Indonesia's economic development, with the country now having the highest logistics costs in the region, a joint study shows.The Asia Foundation and University of Indonesia's Institute for Economic and Social Research (LPEM) found that transporting goods in Indonesia was expensive because of charges imposed by local governments and illegal fees collected by police and thugs."These impediments, for example, have raised operational costs of a truck by 10 percent per year.
