I'm a downtown dweller, work out of my home and live the life of a hermit, so I rarely drive. Consequently, I never thought it worthwhile to buy a GPS navigation device for my car, a 1972 Ford Pinto that still has that new car smell and the original tires, without any tread wear. I did, however, recently use a GPS unit in a rental car when I was out of town. These things — GPS navigation devices, not rental cars — are incredible. Without it, I would have gotten lost. Yesterday, As Emily and I were Screaming and Hollering at each other for the 10th time this week, I was thinking of "Peace and Quite." Raising two kids,three dogs and about fifteen Nieghborhood kids running around, anything sounded good at the time. Well, I have several and some Chimes to help Boost the Peace. They HAVEN'T done a thing yet. Can Someone send me some Peace? Raising a Pre-Teen Girl I need more than Buddah's and Feng Shui. Well, instead of Keeling at the Buddah's I poured myself a Big Glass of "Chardonay". That was more Peaceful and seemed to bring me some Tranquility too. Yesterday I picked up Zane from his school at about 4:30 p.m. and headed off to meet Grace at an appointment. Within thirty minutes a massive condo complex under construction about 200 yards away from the school and just two blocks from home caught fire with flames shooting up to 70 feet in the air, which created quite a spectacle in the neighborhood. (Photo by the Las Vegas Review-Journal)It also created a traffic nightmare as streets were closed and more than 10 fire trucks battled the fire throughout the late afternoon into the late night hours to save the CVS Pharmacy (our pharmacy), homes and an elementary school nearby. It was one of the most fierce fires the Las Vegas Valley has seen in quite some time. Who knows what started it. There have been cases of eco-terrorism at construction sites in town, but it could have been just an accident. I have the first three issues of lots of comic series’ in my closet. My general rule is to give a series three issues to grab my attention and get me invested in the characters. In the past few months, most comics haven’t been doing that for me, and it was getting pretty irritating. I initially resisted Welcome to Tranquility because I was feeling negative that day and didn’t feel like being disappointed again. Recently, I picked it up and immediately fell in love with it. Now I feel silly.
I really like the concept - a town that is entirely made up of former Maxi Comic superheroes and their families - and the whodunit aspect of Welcome to Tranquility. The first three issues, even though they’re dealing with a murder, are pretty lighthearted and quirky. We’re meeting the characters, learning about the retired heroes’ backgrounds through their old comics and seeing how that has played out in their retirement.

Tranquility (Week 11 of 12)
Tranquility. Be not disturbed at trifles, or at accidents common or unavoidable. This week has been a particularly interesting one for me. In fact, tranquility, peace, and serenity are very important life goals that I strive to achieve.
To me, tranquility is a state of being, in which you possess a stillness, during which you are capable of fully experiencing the present moment. This stillness is calm, involves emotional mastery, and being fully conscious. You are actually able to reach clarity by stifling all the excess noise coming in from your subconscious mind and the world around you.
Tranquility is an interesting concept to adopt into your reality. We’ve all experienced moments of tranquility, but it’s a completely different thing to lead a life of tranquil
