Darby is the man who started the Abu Ghraib investigation by turning in the photographs of prisoner torture that ultimately made every paper in the world, it seems. Apparently, Darby’s whole hometown has turned against him and he can never return. His neighbors, his childhood friends are angry because he reported a crime. They threaten to kill him because he reported a crime, a series of crimes. He chose the right thing over protecting his buddies, over covering for the criminal activity of his friends. I can’t get over the… I can’t imagine the mindset… How in the hell do you rationalize torture? How do you justify death threats? The man reported a crime. Amazing.
