      Netflix Review: Trainspotting
This review will actually be done in a minute. I wasn't going to review it since I don't have much to say...but I'm a stickler for my own rules...so I have to review EVERY Netflix film that comes my way.Anyway...I didn't entirely care for this film. It wasn't bad...I just didn't really get into it. Maybe when it came out, it was shocking and "realistic" for viewers to see this side of heroin addic

      Trainspotting, Irving Welsh

      Trainspotting in Japan
名古屋鉄道1000系パノラマスーパーWith scores of different engine types employed by numerous private railway companies, Japan is a trainspotter's dreamland.Every weekend thousands of mostly young to middle aged men gather at stations across the nation photographing and videoing their speeding steel idols.I rode with a group of spotters in the front seats of a train recently and was amused to see them flashing the V peace sign with their fingers as we roared through stations to be caught on film by their rival geeks shooting away on the platforms. Every station on the trip had someone taking photographs or video. Here is a video homage on YouTube to Meitetsu's Panorama Super shot mainly at Nagoya, Kanayama, Jingu-mae and Arimatsu stations. The video is set lovingly to Abba's "Dan

      Michael Breyette's Trainspotting 2007
以下圖片版權屬於 Michael Breyette 所有. [Source] Much like window shopping, trainspotting is a harmless way to pass the time on the way to your destination. One of my favorite pastimes is people watching. I suppose that would partly explain my occupation. Back when my boyfriend lived in NYC, we would often take the subway on our nightly excursions. I found the experience to be a fascinating mixture of people, who would come and go at every stop. Granted, most of my ogling was toward the male persuasion. But regardless of seat availability, riders would often stand for their short journey, keeping by the door, gripping the pole just a foot or so away from you. When it's right there in your face, how can you not look? Taiwan Gay, 台灣男同志, 男體, 貼圖, 欣賞,target='_blank' Link2Picasa1(filename, size, border, link, linkurl, align); 您的閱覽工具沒有支援javascript, 文章內容將無法完整呈現.

Heroin history: From cough medicine for kids to Trainspotting
I've always thought of heroin as morphine's older brother (cooler, tougher, associates with delinquents, popular with the ladies, etc.), which is funny, since morphine has been around since the opium poppy or whatever plant that preceded it first evolved the ability to make the compound. Heroin, however, was not brought into existence until 1874.Heroin was first synthesized by a dude named C.R. Alder Wright, who in addition to having lots of given names, was an English chemist employed at St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London. Incidentally, Wikipedia has just informed me that St. Mary's was where Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin AND where Elvis Costello and Princes William and Harry were ushered into this fair world (read: born). Fascinating.Anyway, Wright was fiddling around with morphine and decided to boil it with acetic anhydride for a couple of hours to see what would happen. This process resulted in the acetylation of the morphine, producing a semi-synthetic com

      Forget Trainspotting--Welcome to Cakespotting!
For some reason, I think I might have posted about this before. Then again, I might be dreaming. Anyways, when you're wandering the streets of Seoul you see lots of interesting things to say the least. People are always so busy and everyone is doing their "thang" wherever they go. One thing that I noticed was the number of cakes that people would be carrying all over the place.Of course there are birthdays everyday and special occasions that require cakes. The interesting thing is that these cake boxes have built in handles on the top, so you see lots of people wandering the streets--with cakes! I'd like to call this my day of cakespotting! Let's take a look, shall we?You will see cakes underground in the subway stations......near Gwanghwamun outside Cafe imA and their delicious waffles......near City Hall (what a good boyfriend this chap is!)......in Gangnam...these ladies move fast so you gotta be ready to take the shot......most cakes are sponsored by the one, the only, Paris bag

Forget Trainspotting: Rat Spotting in Seoul
What kind of animals have I seen in my time in Seoul? Well, I've seen the occasional stray cat poking at garbage bags and some stray dogs roaming the neighborhood. I've also seen a Steff hot dog, a 1000w hot dog, and a Costco hot dog. Oh, and don't forget the world's fattest dog at Giordano. With all big cities, rodent problems are a given no matter where you go. I spotted my first rat in Seoul last week!We were walking toward the back entrance at work, when suddenly I hear someone call my name. It's one of my coworkers and he's looking at something. He tells me to come over to check something out. I head over to the bike racks, and low and behold...what do I see hanging out on the grate below? A large rat enjoying its day! This plump thing was not scared at all was content with whatever it was doing. It did not even flinch at us.There must've been some kimchi down below because it was concentrating pretty hard. There was a food/garbage bin about 10 meters away, so no wonder th

Trainspotting... but, sadly, not the cool movie!
Friday, chill-out day, out and about with my trusty camera. Today, however, before unleashing the lens on the world I almost slipped into a dodgy wig and comedy moustache. Why? Well, this morning, having purchased tickets for tomorrow's Alex vs Forest match I shuffled suspiciously onto platform 5 of Crewe station. Unlike the bustling commuters heading for work I was there on a mission, but not something Tom Cruise would care to accept. Oh no. I was there to snap all things railway. From the elegant girders that hold the roof canopies in the sky, the sweeping arches of one of the country's most famous interchanges, the people, the intricate track and overhead cabling and, er, ssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh, the t-r-a-i-n-s! The Mrs is out on the razz again, number three of the festive beer/food/boogie sessions organised by her and various cronies. It's probably a good job, as a quick look at this shocking admission and she'd be reaching for the divorce papers. I can see it now... "Husband in tra
