Indian real estate giant DLF is all set to develop a new township at Durgapur City Centre in West Bengal. The project will come over an area of 95 acres.
DLF paid the highest amount among the others bidding for the land reserve which the company has purchased at the rate of 35 lakh per acre, informs an official at Asansol Durgapur Development Authority (ADDA).
Of 23 real estate companies, only 12 participated in the bid, out of which, 4 were shortlisted but the expression of interest submitted by DLF was the best.
The Authority purchased a large chunk of 108 acres from SAIL's Durgapur Steel Plant in the eastern front of the City Centre in 2006. Later, it decided to develop a Township on the land to develop LIG and MIG flats.
ADDA has proposed 900 plots for LIG and 500 plots for MIG segment. To stay in a step with soaring demand for residential property in Durgapur, the authority looks forward to accommodate the maximum possible heads.

Real estate giant DLF is soon to bag a residential Township project in Bangalore which will involve an investment of $10-12 billion. The project will come over a large area of 9,000 acres on the outskirts of the city.
DLF has emerged as the only bidder for the project, informs an industry source. However, the company refuses to comment on any aspect of the bid as the bidding is still in the process.
It would be another exclusive project for DLF which would be three times bigger than their previous project, Gurgaon City. The Township will feature residential complexes, shopping malls, commercial space, schools, clubs, hospitals and hotels.
DLF has recently made headlines for floating the India’s largest IPO worth Rs 9,000 crore. Bangalore Township will be the second big project for the company where it has been playing the role of only bidder.
The company holds land bank of about 11,000 acre and holds presence in all the segments of property sector.

Thanks to the City Corporation Limited Promoted Amanora Township project, which has already begun fetching prospective investors. Even before the launch was formally announced, the project saw a multitude of investors lining up for bookings.

City to create racially integrated township

Emalahleni - Construction is about to begin on a post-apartheid project, a racially-integrated township.
The proposed township in Emalahleni (formerly Witbank) in Mpumalanga will include 12 600 units, made up a mix of low-cost houses, rental flats and subsidised housing units.

After thirty five years of serious courting, the Broken Springs Village Council and the Onoyoko Township Board have decided to sever all ties. The divorce was finalized at Tuesday night's Township Board meeting, but the rocky relationship fell into the sewer many years ago.
"It wasn't an easy decision," says Township Supervisor Ernie Hildecrust. "But I was getting tired the constant nagging and all of the arguments. Sure, the makeup sex was nice, but a healthy relationship needs love and respect as its foundation, not a box of Trojan XLs and a bottle of Viagra," added the feisty old coot.
Sources close to the couple insist finances also played a factor in the split.

The Onoyoko township board certainly did Tuesday night, as they discussed the right to cut down trees with the community affairs official for IMP (Indiana Michigan Power). It wouldn't be going out on a limb to say that several council members are barking mad at the company's tree trimming and removal procedures.
IMP's community affairs officer Harry Palms was caught off guard at the monthly meeting, as questions many residents and township council members threw his way left him looking stumped and a bit like a sap. He defended his company's program, insisting that careful tree trimming and removal is both necessary and crucial in serving over a hundred thousand customers who swamp the phone lines every time their microwave's clock needs to be reset. Workers were told to report back to work this morning in case the parts were there. This morning, carpets were the least of GM's problems.
