The Who guitarist originally created The Boy Who Heard Music as an Internet novella, but the rock opera has taken on a life of its own. He wrote the book, lyrics and music for this exciting new venture, which shouldnt come as too big of a shock considering he whipped up more than 100 songs for the band in its heyday. The opera is premiering this weekend at a New York festival.

The best surprise at SXSW 2007 was seeing Pete Townshend. We went to La Zona Rosa on Thursday night to see Elvis Perkins and The Cold War Kids and right when we walked in the door, Pete Townshend strolled on stage for an acoustic set. The picture I took was really dark, but I found this clip on YouTube that does one better.
