How the tortoise determines a good web directory
I read a lot of blogs and here and there I will read that link directories are so early 2000, they are “passé” or it is pointless to build links in link directories. O_O!!!! What? Maybe I am just not one to turn down links, but if you can get a link from a directory, why not? Of course, not all link directories are created equal, and you should keep this in mind when building links via link directories for your off-site search engine marketing. I was reading about what factors you should consider when submitting your site to link directories, and I see the value in discussing link directories as they are clearly not “dead”. My process for deciding whether or not to submit my site to a certain directory: Look at the PR of the index page - then find the page where your site will be listed and check the PR of that page. How many links are in the directory, in the category where your site is listed and on individual pages? How did you find the directory in Google?

      Tortoise Tales
Selling tortoises thirty or forty years ago was a very different proposition than what it is today. Then your average Pet shop owner was asked for tortoises by his customers. He would then order them from his wholesaler and then a few days later a consignment of tortoises would appear. When we received them they were in flat boxes, but many years earlier they had come in Ali Baba type baskets. On arrival all the tortoises were first put into large trays of warm water and given a drink, then they were washed and checked for ticks. After a few hours rest they were then fed lots of fresh vegetables and then next day put out on show ready to go to new homes. One of my earliest childhood summer memories was going to check the tortoises with my Father and seeing which were male and female. (turn tortoise upside down, concave shell - male, flattish shell -female.)Way back then not too many people questioned how animals were transported or how they were caught. Now-a-days things are different.

      Tourism: Tortoise’s In Town
Located in the heart of HCM City, the Tortoise Fountain is among the city’s well-known historical sitesTortoise Fountain is the name of a square in central HCM City. It is located at the intersection of Pham Ngoc Thach, Vo Van Tan and Tran Cao Van streets, approximately 200 meters from the Notre Dame Cathedral. The structure was originally built in 1879 and had gone through many alternations ever since. Initiated by the French, the 20-meter-high water tower was built in the center of the traffic circle. The water tank of steel with a capacity of 100 cubic meters was supported by eight pillars, placed in octagonal shape. The top of the tower was layered with tiles. The overall structure reflected the Pearl of the Far East design, which was the name of Saigon at the time, and can be seen on postcards dated in the late 19th century. In 1921, the tower was destroyed. The reasons are unclear since all official and architectural documentations were lost. Records were not well kept at the tim

      The Hare And The Tortoise
Ouch! It’s been a while since running. I’ve been a bit depressed about it all and a bit busy with life, but that’s really no excuse. Well, actually it is an excuse… it’s just not a good reason. I’d like to start off this entry in my Runner’s Log with an old story that comes from Aesop’s Fables: The Hare and the Tortoise A Hare one day ridiculed the short feet and slow pace of the Tortoise, who replied, laughing: “Though you be swift as the wind, I will beat you in a race.” The Hare, believing her assertion to be simply impossible, assented to the proposal; and they agreed that the Fox should choose the course and fix the goal. On the day appointed for the race the two started together. The Tortoise never for a moment stopped, but went on with a slow but steady pace straight to the end of the course. The Hare, lying down by the wayside, fell fast asleep. At last waking up, and moving as fast as he could, he saw the Tortoise ha

      The tortoise and the hare
Early this afternoon, after having lunch with two girlfriends and our three toddlers, we left the restaurant and allowed our kids to walk by our sides out to the cars... As long as they held our hands, of course. The kids (two girls and a boy) decided it was not enough to hold our hands but also needed to hold on to each other. So there we were, three adults and three toddlers, all holding

      The Chicken Tortoise Was Back
[Wednesday, 14 March, 2007]The repeated old show on channel 8 was nice. I had a rare chat initiated by Ruoci and I started bombarding her for not replying to my message the day before when I was at Bedok. At times, I felt like deleting the contacts on my phone of friends who did not bother about me. It took me long to finish up my work and thus slept late again.I was eventually waken up by Kelly who told me to do SD as soon as possible for the block 219 Ang Mo Kio flat but since I knew it was not very urgent, I told her I would probably do it some other days. To me, it was stupid to go all the way down to Bukit Merah HDB branch office just to do it and I would prefer to do it on the way if I had to go to the office.I woke up around noon eventually and saw Suimin’s Friendster being updated and I knew this chicken-tortoise had returned to Singapore. Shell Shock - Tortoise Shell "it"
Elle spotlights that tortoise shell has resurfaced as the season’s most unexpected accent, turning up on everything from breezy dresses to wedge heels. For my direct experiences I was completely torn between the Prada sunglasses I bought (the hipster pair I shared) and these Oliver Peoples Varadis 284. The dash of not-too girly pink is so chic! Trust me I was torn between the two but dropping another $300 wasn’t in the budget (insert shopping pang here). You can also color me begrudgingly impressed yet again! At Jessica Simpson shoes. I was manhandling this pair that I so don’t need but admire. The tortoise shell runs along the bottom of the shoes too. The black Amanda is very, very fun. Can’t ignore these Elle picks either:  Wedge sandal, Dolce & Gabbana, Sequin shirtdress, Chloé. fashion jessica simpson oliver peoples prada shell Shoes sunglasses tortoise trend
