Soha Ali Khan backed out from carrying the Olympic torch in the relay
With just one day to go for the Olympic torch relay in the capital, actress Soha Ali Khan seems to have got the heebie-jeebies. The bubbly actress has backed out from carrying the Olympic torch in the relay and has even informed the Indian Olympic Association of her decision. What is quite strange is that Soha has cited purely personal reasons as the cause for her backing out at the last minute. For those who came in late, the Olympic torch relay event scheduled to take place in Delhi tomorrow has been affected by one controversy after the other. First actor Aamir Khan was asked by some members of the Tibetan community to not participate in the event, then star football player, Baichung Bhutia, opted out of the event and finally Aamir decided that he would be carrying the Olympic torch. With

Torch Relay Protests: Are they appropriate? Are they effective?
From The New York Times: A day before the Olympic torch was scheduled to arrive here [New Delhi] from Pakistan, dozens of Tibetan protesters wearing yellow “Free Tibet” headbands were arrested Wednesday after they stormed through barricades at the Chinese Embassy, taking heavy security forces in the diplomatic heart of the city by surprise. With tensions between Beijing and a variety of activists running high, it's likely a storm will break before the air clears. What are your thoughts, Seminal readers. Are the Olympic Torch Relays an effective form of protest? Are they an appropriate form of protest? Should the protests stop? Should they continue? I've been debating the matter for the last few weeks and can't seem to make up my mind.
