Wait a minute, right now I am having a hard time trying to imagine just what the American version of Top Gear is going to look like, I mean I am a huge fan of the UK Top Gear that is airs weekly on BBC America, the show has three hosts and it works, but its more comedy than anything else. These three guys are not afraid to tell you what they really think of the vehicles they are test driving and that would including test driving the Chevrolet Corvette that in their minds is a good track car, but not a daily driver and the Shelby GT500 which didn’t impress them much because of the Suspension, it just wasn’t there. Motorsport fans are in for a truly epoch-making experience, for the day is nigh when Lewis Hamilton takes on the Top Gear celebrity lap challenge.
He’ll join famous folk such as Jennifer Saunders, Gordon Ramsay, Hugh Grant and Billie Piper in putting a reasonably-priced road car around the programme’s very own circuit.
Current celebrity winner is Simon Cowell with a time of 1:45.90. But Top Gear driver Stig has put away a very tidy time of 1:44.40.

One word: badassTop Gear is back on BBC2 tomorrow night for a one-off summer special. It sees Jeremy, Richard and James race across the Arctic tundra to the North Pole in what are quite possibly the coolest vehicles ever to appear on the show: Toyota Hilux 4x4s specially modified by Arctic Trucks to cope with the extreme conditions.Meanwhile, filming is underway for the next full series of the programme, due to arrive in October. Quad bikes + salt flats = bad?Jeremy Clarkson has drawn criticism from environmentalists for filming a segment for the upcoming series of Top Gear which involves driving across the Makgadikgadi salt flats in Botswana in a fleet of quad bikes and 4x4s. It's claimed that permanent damage has been caused to the unique landscape by this activity. However, as the article above repors, a local helicopter pilot says that numerous tourists drive across the flats every day. That's not to say damage isn't being caused, but isn't it funny how the eco-warriors only take notice when Top Gear is involved?

I just can’t get enough of Top Gear, and I’m not even a big car guy. Just seeing the interaction between Richard Hammond, James May and the least politically correct man in the world Jeremy Clarkson is enough to make it essential viewing.
After reading this post and watching the videos of car football on Automotive Blogger, I knew I had to go and root out the other great sport they had converted to a car activity on YouTube. So here we have them playing ice hockey with Suzuki Swifts with some rally drivers. It makes for quite a spectacle and also a hilarious diversion for any of us who only get to drive to and from work every day.
Make sure you watch right through to the end to see what the loser has to do as punishment for being… well… a loser!

Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has come under attack in the Malaysian parliament for labelling one of the country's cars the worst in the world. The BBC presenter has been filmed attacking the Perodua Kelisa with a sledgehammer before blowing it up. But minister Abdul Raman Suliman defended the nation's car industry, saying Mr Clarkson was like a football commentator who cannot play football. Perodua had not received a single complaint from UK owners, he told MPs. He added that the comments were made merely to boost sales of the Top Gear magazine
The BBC have announced that there will be a new series of the popular motoring show Top Gear, despite the fact that presenter Jeremy Clarkson saying that it will not in his newspaper Column for the Sun.
There will be a summer special and then in the autumn a new series is set to hit our screens with all three presenters being signed back up. Let us hope that they do more show in the next series as the last series of Top Gear was over just as we started to get into it.
As always on a Sunday night at 8pm I sit down to watch of my favourite shows on the TV, and that is Top Gear, which is shown on BB2. As many of you know they take cars on test drives and basically talk about what is going on in the car world but with a fun edge to it. However, last nights one was different, as the show was shot in the U.S, and all three of the presenters had a mission to complete. That mission was instead of getting to Miami and picking up a rental car, they each had to purchase a car for only $1000, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May were finding it hard, but all three managed to get a car for their $1000.
So now they had a series of tests to do, one test was an American version of the Stigg. They had to take their cars around a track in the quickest possible time but as you would expect they were all slow. It was when they all had to do the accelerate and then brake before falling into a lake at the end of the track that was one funny moment, because R

And we can now, finally, confirm the rumor that drift king Tanner Faust is the Tiff Needel of the team. But the big news here is that NBC execs pulled L.A. Times auto writer Dan Neil from the U.S. show after a viewing his audition tape-- despite a signed contract with the Pulitzer prize-winning critic. Neil says he's "very disappointed" with the network's decision, but understands their motivation. "They couldn't handle my heat," he joked. "Seriously. It's probably because I'm not very good on TV."
