According to a recent study, an average toothbrush consists of millions of germs and various kinds of bacteria. This number will further increase if a person lets other people use his/her toothbrush. The research also revealed that certain diseases such as hepatitis A, B, and C can survive for months in the bristles.
Experts suggest the use of a toothbrush sterilizer such as Esencia. With clean

So I've decided to plan a trip to New Zealand in the next month or two. The reason I've made this decision is pictured to the right. It appears New Zealand is home to a unique attraction like no other - a toothbrush fence! There's a string of over fifty toothbrushes tied to a wire fence in Te Pahu, New Zealand. Local man Laird McGillicuddy Graeme Cairns decided to start stringing toothbrushes u

My friend WW has a strange habit. Whenever she stays in hotels, she'd keep/hide her toothbrush. We thought she was paranoid. Then...Later on, 2 weeks ago, she forwarded this video to us. Aiiyyykk!! This is disgusting. From now on, we all follow her practice. LOL!

Not all power toothbrushes are created equal. Only Sonicare combines 31,000 brush strakes per minute and extra-wide sweeping motion to create dynamic fluid cleaning action. Inspired by the sonic technology used in dental offices. Sonicare's unique dynamic fluid action gently and effectively reachs deep between teeth and below the gum line.
With three children, I realize it’s likely that I’ll hear the C word–CAVITY–uttered from a dentist sometime before the nest empties. After all, research shows that 79 percent of children will have a cavity by age 17. But even with this dark statistic, I know that with regular brushing, there is still hope [...]
"Open up," I said. I leaned over the changing table with the miniature toothbrush and aimed it at Alleke's mouth. She pushed it aside with both hands, turned over, and lifted herself up on all fours--all at once like a tumbling gymnast."Nigh nigh," she said, suggesting we skip this part of our nighttime ritual. She reached for me to pick her up. I glared at her and crossed my arms. "No way," I said. "You're mean." I contemplated sticking out my tongue. This was the third night in a row that Alleke had refused to brush her teeth, and it was the first time she had decided not to do something I couldn't make her do. I could not brush her teeth without her help. It was impossible.I entertained the idea of not brushing Alleke's teeth anymore. I'd wave the toothbrush in her face, then toss it in
Getting sick is just not a pretty thing, even if it does mean you can flop around all day in bunny slippers, snuggle in your robe and sniffle ever so cutely over a bowl of soup while catching up on TV. Unfortunately, a fugly side effect of the holidays is that all the traveling and merry mingling
may leave you wearing holes in your bunnies because some sickly scrooge regifted you their humbug. To that we say "Baaaaah!"
Thankfully, we found just the techno-pretty contraption to better your chances of surviving the
holiday season, or any season for that matter, without getting sick. The Violight VIO200 Toothbrush Sanitizer (pictured above) "kills 99.9 percent of the bacteria living on your toothbrush with germicidal UV light." Who knew a bug-zapper could be so sleek and shiny? Yay! Of course, please remember that viruses are not bacteria, so this won't help protect you directly against the flu. However, it can help protect you from many airborn bugs and bugs breeding on your toothb
Best toothbrush ever I used an oral b toothbrush forever and didn't think I would like this one because of the rectangular head. The head is really small on this toothbrush though, and I have no problem getting behind my molars with it. After brushing my teeth with this tooth brush, I felt as if I had just left the dentist's office. This is the best toothbrush EVER!The patented sonic technology of the Sonicare Elite combined with the latest in brush head design, creates dynamic cleaning action that removes plaque, reverses gingivitis and naturally whitens teeth. Its new slim angled neck, tapered brush head and contour-fit bristles provide an unparalleled level of comfortable cleaning especially in those hard to reach places. Experts agree. Sonicare Elite is significantly preferred by US dental professionals.Price:Philips Sonicare Elite e9500Top of Sonicare line, this toothbrush plays a significant role in helping to assure that your gums and teeth remain healthy and clean. The world is made up of all kinds. Ab crunchers. Dog lovers. Boob guys.
And then there are the teeth people.
An ever-growing group most easily identified by their crisp, white smiles, they are the faithful flossers, the masses with stashes (toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash) hidden in their desk drawers and glove compartments.
For you (and I know you're out there): I recommend Preserve by Recycline. After all, it's the toothbrush that is constructed with environmentally friendly materials to let you replace without the waste. You are not only keeping your teeth healthy but the world while you're at it!
When you're done with your brush, you just use the pre-paid mailer provided and they'll gladly turn it into plastic lumber or recycled store displays. And for those who need to know - where do the toothbrushes get their plastic? The answer: Stonyfield Farms. For the past five years Stonyfield yogurt cups have accounted for 25-60% of the Preserve toothbrushes (and razors).
Doctors remove a 3-inch toothbrush lodged inside woman's noseDoctors in India have removed a 3-inch toothbrush lodged inside the nose of a 31-year old woman, a local paper reported. The report said that the housewife went to a hospital in Mumbai two months ago suffering from severe pain.During a CT scan, doctors were shocked to find the broken toothbrush prompting them to order an immediate surgery."I was brushing my teeth, my husband accidentally pushed me and the toothbrush in my hand broke,"| said the woman. "I was left holding the lower portion of the brush but couldn't locate the rest of it.""Soon after, I started bleeding profusely from the nose," she added. "But since that day, I began getting breathless and a foul-smelling discharge began to come out of my nose.""The odor from her nose was so bad that it could be smelt from a distance of two feet," said Kaushal Sheth, the doctor who performed the surgery. "If the object had fallen into her windpipe, she could have choked to de

Finally! After 400+ days of being a guest and living in other peoples homes I finally have my own toothbrush holder. That means I am officially no longer a guest. Now that is a feeling of relief. I dont know many people who have been a guest for over 400 days. The small things are where its at! A toothbrush holder! My own towel to hang up in the bathroom. My own bed. My own mess. I can burp and not worry about my appearance. I can eat whenever I want to eat and stay up late and sleep in later. Ahhh finally!
These things became hard to get used to. Personally, I dont know many people who would live out of a duffel bag for over 400 days. To be frank, a lot of people I know simply couldnt do it. And your clothes are always wrinkly! But thats the last of my worries. Honestly, I really did get quite used to my living environment. We are truly creatures of habit. I think we need to break the environments we know on a regular basis. Many people have told me
Even though I wouldn’t use this toothbrush because I need mine to be electric (I use the $10 CrossAction), this idea is so bright it took a moment for my eyes to adjust.
Rinse your mouth thanks to the redirected flow water. Once mass produced, this brush could go for $3, but now each one costs $1,750 (for one of 27 prototypes). Their website HERE; via OhGizmo!

I thought that after Mitchell and Webb parodied the toothbrush design meeting (what with M&W being as ubiquitous as Little Britain but slightly less trashy) that toothbrush manufacturers and advertisers might have got the message.
As the woman from M&W laments:
“We may have run out of things to tell them they need on their toothbrush.”
But, alas they have not, at least Oral B hasn’t.
They suffer from the same issue that Stanley had with their Stanley Knife: it’s pretty much perfect and everyone has one. So how do they sell more?
Innovation, innovation, innovation.
Oral B decided to make a couple of bits go up and down and add a few bits that go between your teeth:
(Apologies, for it being an Italian version but it does still include the brushing “dramatisation” and here’s a link to an English version.)
Oral B’s marketing department decided that this new innovation should be called “Pulsar” (ooh, manly). No longer

Looking in the stores at toothbrushes you can hardly fail to notice that the majority are made from plastic, there being not much choice on shelves what can we do to be more eco friendly?
Check out this range from Radius, they have got what could be a great alternative to the all plastic versions. The source toothbrush has a head similar to those on an electric toothbrush, but the handle is made from wood or flax. When the toothbrush is worn out, all you need do is replace the head and keep the same handle.

Radial bristling - first toothbrush in the world to have it. Makes brushing easier and more effective.
3,080 Tynex® nylon bristl
The earth-friendly Preserve toothbrush, is made with post-consumer and pre-consumer recycled plastic.
One of the many cool things about this toothbrush is that you can send it in to Recycline, so that the recycling process can continue on, with the brush being turned into plastic lumber. The packaging the brush comes in is also completely recyclable.
Excerpted from the site:
“Why Recycle a Toothbrush? Dentists nationwide recommend that patients replace their toothbrushes at least 4 times a year. The ADA concurs. Toothbrushes not only lose their effectiveness, but they also build up bacteria. Though the average American currently replaces a brush only 1.5 times a year, replacement is expected to increase due to the growing awareness of the benefits of preventative oral hygiene. If we all obey o
Oral-B's Triumph Electronic Toothbrush is much like Triumph, the insult dog: both serve no purpose but to demean you.You see, the Oral-B Triumph comes with a LCD screen and radio transmitter that tell you where and how long to brush, and even warns you if you are brushing too hard. I don't know about you, but I have a difficult time with an electronic product that tells me what to do. I feel personally insulted by something electronic that tells me how to do something basic. However, if you need this discipline, feel free to shell out $150 USD for this Triumph.
The toothbrush is an instrument used to clean teeth, consisting of a small brush on a handle. Toothpaste, often containing fluoride, is commonly added to a toothbrush to aid in cleaning. Toothbrushes are offered with varying textures of bristles, and come in many different sizes and forms.
We cannot know how often you pull a new brush from its wrapper, but statistics suggest that we in general do it way too seldom. The average Swede, for example, only changes brushes once or twice a year. The toothbrush manufacturers are of course hard at work to remedy this, and are spending millions of ad bucks in the process. So far, however, none of the big budgets (as far as we know) have produced an idea as simple and clever as Patrik Ström Widmark at Bytborste.se have done. He has set up a simple website where he sells tooth brush subscriptions. With such a subscription you get one or more new and fresh toothbrushes in the mail each month. The brushes are available in soft or medium, and they are SEK 24:90 (approx. USD 3:60) a piece plus postage. Now, so far Patrik sell his toothbrushes in Sweden only, but we thought the rest of the world might like the idea anyway.
Japenese scientists have recently developed a toothbrush which does not require the use of toothpaste. The brush cleans teeth by producing an electrical current inside the mouth which clears plaque from the teeth. The PM or the "Proton Magnesium Toothbrush" has two metal discs inserted on back made of magnesium and copper. These discs interact with each other in the saliva creating a low voltage electric current which magnetizes plague away from teeth and kill bacteria which causes bad breath. It unleashes between .8 to 1.8 volts of electricity with a current ranging from 300 to 3000 micro amps. The brush costs about US $12.
==============Considering CopTwo men are driving through London when they get pulled over by a cop.The cop walks up and taps on the window with his stick. The driver rolls down the window and WHACK, the officer smacks him in the head with the stick. The driver asks, "What the hell was that for?".The officer answers, "You're in London son. When we pull you over, you better have your license ready when we get to your car."The driver says, "I'm sorry, Officer, I'm not from around here."The officer does a check on the driver's license, and he's O.K..He gives the man his license back, walks around to the passenger side and taps on the window. The passenger rolls down the window and WHACK, the officer smacks him on the head with the stick. The passenger asks, "What'd you do that for?"The officer says, "Just making your wish come true."The passenger asks, "Making what wish come true?"The officer says, "I know that two miles down the road you're gonna say to your friend here, "I wish that

It's time for me to come clean and tell you the real, full toothbrush story. I mentioned it in passing while I was still medicated, but now I want to do it justice.I can't even begin to tell you how terrified I was of having 6.5 hours of dental work done at one time. So, of course, I was really happy to take advantage of the drugs. They told me to dress comfortably, so I was wearing some wide-legged elastic waist pants and a loose top. I don't remember anything of the procedure except some foggy memories of, maybe, the last five minutes or so.When they were all done with me, the dental assistant walked me to the bathroom. Don't lock the door, sweetie, she told me.I remember sitting on the toilet and looking around the bathroom. Did I mention how posh my dentist is? Fancy, fancy. Directly across from the toilet is a lovely, walnut burl chest of drawers. Sitting atop the chest is a beautiful vase with a stunning display of individually wrapped, brightly colored toothbrushes

Tooth Tunes is the new brush that sends music through your teeth and into your head. Each toothbrush has a single chip of music implanted in the handle. The chip plays for two minutes, the minimum time generally recommended by dentist to provide a through brushing.Source & Image:Hasbro.com
