Last week, we went to see our friend Jo Jo show off her sushi-making skills at the newly opened Sushi Station in La Jolla (San Diego). While we were mesmerized by her rolls, what caught our eye were the Tokidoki skate decks that were hanging on the restaurant walls. Tokidoki is a brand established by Italian artist Simone Legno who fell in love with Japan and has been creating a whole line of products with the a uniquely Japanese manga style. Think edgy Hello Kitty. On his website, tokidoki.it, you can purchase a variety of items from clothes, pins, posters, and the aforementioned skate boards. Our favorite is this "baby killer" skate deck that you can buy for $75. We'll definitely be buying a few to hang in our office.
This is the Tokidoki 100% Be@brick from Medicom to be released at NYCC that runs from April 18-20th at the Toy Tokyo booth (#885) with Simone Legno will be signing for the release. Toy Tokyo also is offering the figure now for pre-order @ $19.99.
