I saw this movie before I saw "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves." I thought it was funny then. Recently I watched the "Prince" version. A few days ago, "Tights" was on, and I hadn't seen it in a while. There's so much more to a parody film when you are familiar with the work it is lampooning. It was great fun watching "Tights" with a new frame of reference.Most of the jokes, though, didn't necessarily center just on the other "Robin Hood." But they were all great. This was the film that introduced me to Dave Chappelle. I didn't realize it had been him until a few years ago when "Chappelle Show" was being aired on Comedy Central. When I recognized him, I realized I hadn't seen him in anything in between "Tights" and "Chappelle Show." I wonder why? He's a pretty funny guy.Like the story of Robin Hood, I think "Men In Tights" will remain timeless. Not too many jokes are limited to within one era, and the film is really well-made. Good job!

Mainly thanks to Prada, socks have made another comeback. Footless / legwarmers, over-knees, 1/2-footed things... anything socky. I love the ideas - in theory. I think that, on the right pair of legs, knee-highs can look brilliant with a work skirt. Over-knees can look great piled over a casual boot. 1/2 foots can look great with... ummm... I'm not sure about those. I was thinking of doing a bit of DIY and just cutting half the foot of a pair of grey knee-highs, but not sure what I'd wear them with. Then, of course, there's the issue of the cold. Bear toes in winter? The over-knees look horrid when pulled up (as seen on every model in H&M's windows just now) - a bit like stockings that are falling down (it's bad enough when it's an accident, but to do it on purpose is just silly). When I'm choosing tights, I have a main aim: make legs look long and slim. As a result, I invariably exclude bright- or pale-coloured tights (no Pucci leggings, then) - only black, brown, dark grey, navy... Ok, so I am a red-head, with very pale skin who has multiple spider veins and varicose veins on her legs (heriditary, tried multiple treatments, including surgery and they just cannot be fixed in this lifetime)....so black or dark tights have been a godsend for wearing with skirts/dresses in the winter. Now it's summer....I assume black tights are not cutting it with summer skirt fashions....so what's a girl to do? A) wear pants all the time B) hosiery....like the nude colored pantyhose or stockings C) cream colored tights...saw some today but they looked very heavy/thick D) spray on tan.....might look really funny on the rest of my very pale self E) Light colored fishnets?
