En Vogue - Don't GoI just got a thought in my head regarding the CSV Throwback Video and En Vogue came to mind. Now I have featured them before but immediately "Don't Go" came to my head. En Vogue's debut album, "Born To Sing" was a hit out of the box. It featured the hit singles "Hold On", "You Don't Have To Worry", Lies", and the aforementioned "Don't Go". As of April '08 all original 4 members of En Vogue have reunited and are currently touring with Boyz II Men if I'm correct.

Have you ever just stumbled into a blog and you really like it...like it enough to go dredging through years of back posts to read more? I did this awhile ago. I won't mention the blog name, for fear that this person may think I am a crazy pycho-nut stalker. I'm really not. She just writes so well and she's darn funny. But tonight I am glad I did this. I ran across inspiring posts that really spoke to me. About motherhood...about life in general, and of course, about God. All things I struggle with on a daily basis. All the things I sometimes think that other people have "so together" in their lives. But they struggle, too. We all do. After a particularly trying night here with E.B., and not feeling 100% myself, it's nice to find some bloggy manna from heaven that throws you a rope so you can hang on some more.

Mara's almost two and Emily is 6 months old. I'll never forget that Halloween. They were both just getting over the croup. I can tell in that picture that Emily doesn't feel good at all.And here's my bumble bees from last year. Mara's almost three. Emily's 18 months, and Becca is 5 weeks. I think it only took us about two hours just to get around our little block while trick-or-treating.I'm getting so excited for next week now!

      THE DRESS - Throwback Thursday-
Nicole Kidman recalled, “I bought my wedding dress at a flea market in Amsterdam. I got it before I met my husband.”I was shopping in Austin, with my beautiful daughter this week, for her wedding dress. We found it, bought it, and she is gorgeous in it. Her cousin Rachel shopped with us about a month ago, after trying on 25 or 30 gowns, we wound up going back, with her friend Jenny, to a dress we had seen & tried on, before. Lauren tried on the dress, then Geri Vela, at Alexia Gavela Bridal, clamped it at the back, so we could see how it would fit. He measured, he ordered, then in 4-5 months when the dress comes in, we will pay more to have it altered! Where’s the justice? This appears to be the norm. In the meantime we still need to buy earrings, shoes, veil (love the veil), tiara or fancy hair pin, and my outfit. Time Traveler ~Throwback Thursday~
One of my favorite books is “The Time Traveler’s Wife.” It’s about this guy named Henry who involuntarily slips in and out of time, sometimes waking up several years ahead and sometimes waking up several years behind his present life. A couple of nights ago I took one of my students from Still Creek Boys’ and Girls’ Home to see “Grease.” One of the dances in the play was “The Stroll.” In the 60’s, we danced the stroll, did the gator, and rock and rolled with the best of them. The play brought back memories of cheerleading, dancing, and high school romances, -- good times. One crazy and dangerous game we often played was “running the box.” Someone would tie a long rope to a box, we would place it on the side of the road & wait for someone to come by, stop their car, or truck, to see what was in the box. Then the fun would begin. We would pull slowly on the rope, the person would figure out the joke, get in their vehicle & leave, while we laughed hilario

      MCM's Eighties Throwback Bag
I may be dating myself but when I was in high school, MCM bags were haute. In fact, MCM was so popular that all the cool girls owned at least one bag, and the cool guys were getting the MCM logo custom printed on their ragtops. MCM has recently re-launched its line of bags, and I'm glad to see they maintained the style that made them hot, but with an added modern twist. The Medium Boston Duffle is classic MCM. Structured black leather is covered with a printed grey MCM logo, a Goyard-style painted stripe and signature lion insignia, and a rubber '1976' side patch. This bag is a fresh alternative to the old faithful logoed bags (aka the Louis Vuitton 'Speedy', the Fendi 'Spy', and the Gucci 'Boston'). Be a trendsetter and set yourself apart with this haute throwback bag.$595, at Intermix.

Of course there were Finnish singers and bands who were trying to make it even outside the country, like Armi and Danny. By the way, Danny's real name was Ilkka, but that was not groovy enough for international discos, thus the name Danny, which is über-cool disco-name.
