With the distance to travel to get there, they are not really took tourists attention unless those seasoned scuba divers. Ca

I've often been envious of Canadians, and this gives me another reason to do so. According to this article in the Guelph Mercury about Christopher diCarlo, Statistics Canada reports that atheism is now the second-largest belief system (after Catholicism) in Canada. Evidently, the percent of Canadians identifying themselves as atheists climbed from 1% in 1971 to 16.3% in 2001. Granted, they still h
I admit it, I really do wake up each and every day and do what "I Want To Do". Some may think this is a selfish approach to life and others may think it is a fairy tale, but it is my life. But how is it that I can do this? The answer is very simple, " I just decided to". Okay, so I hear the eyes rolling and the laughs and the moaning "yeah right". But it is very true. Did I realize it at the time I

Today's Scripture "...I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance, to the full, till it overflows" (John 10:10 AMP). Today's Word from Joel and Victoria God doesn't want you to live with a "barely-get-by" attitude. He has new seasons of increase in front of you. He wants you to thrive, to live an abundant, overflowing life. Sometimes when things seem

Beginning in 2008, Gallup and Healthyways surveyed more than 100,000 Americans revealing that 49% of Americans are "thriving," 47% are "struggling," and nearly 4% are "suffering."
The Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index asked Americans to evaluate their lives by imagining a "ladder" with steps numbered from 0 to 10, where "0" represents the worst possible life and "10" represents the best possible life. Nationally, 49% of Americans say that they presently stand on steps 7 or higher of the ladder. When asked where they will stand about five years from now, Americans report that they expect to stand on steps 8 or higher. Gallup considered this group of Americans to be "thriving." Thriving Americans' have their basic needs (such as food and shelter) met, and they have higher incomes, are less

Some people prefer cremation for personal reasons, maybe because they are not attracted to traditional burial or the thought of a long, slow decomposition process is unappealing to them. They also prefer cremation because it disposes of the body immediately. The cost factor tends to make cremation attractive as well, because generally speaking, it is less expensive than traditional burial services.
Everyday we endure stress that mounts from stressors. This stress in our lives, we have no control of except we can learn to make good decisions on how to handle the pressure. We endure stress in the home, workplace, and in our personal overall life.
Many of us like to find relief for relaxation, make better decisions, improve our health and follow steps to help us get through each day. Learning to use meditation, writing, exercise, and set goals to guide you in finding relief from stress.
When there are two or three different things on our mind at one time, you begin to lose focus. We are working on something to meet a deadline for instance. As we focus on the deadline that is to be meeting, something might happen to slow us down. All of a sudden, we now have two things causing us stress making it harder to meet the first deadline. Learn to step back for a minute and meditate on what you are working on by setting the other aside. Right at this moment there is nothing that can be don
The northwest Russian city of St. Petersburg has always been a favorite for tourists and travelers, with its elegant old buildings and spectacular sights, such as the Hermitage Museum. Now, though, it is becoming an increasingly popular place for international real estate investors. With the economy of Russia on the rise and a growing number of people interested in buying and renting, the market for apartments and new homes has never been better.

Do you feel like you’re thriving - or just getting by? Are your days full of excitement and anticipation, or are your days just something to get through?
Basic skills of living close to nature are not very well known these days. Especially in the West, most people are accustomed to a lifestyle that makes it unnecessary to know these things. As long as the machines and systems of modern life continue to function, no problem. We should never need those primitive skills. I choose to believe this is not a false complacency.
Still, I’m grateful I learned some basic skills in the wilderness of Alaska. I lived there for many years with a subsistence lifestyle, and I don’t regret a moment of it.
If for no other reason, those frontier experiences are good for the sake of contrast. When you have a clear picture of what you don’t want, it’s much easier to focus your attention on what you do w
In the most recent edition of Processor they raise the question "Is The Death of Traditional KVM Near?" They report that the demand for traditional KVM technolgy products remains strong! Below is a snippet from the article. Is The Death Of Traditional KVM Near? Don’t Bet On It Anytime Soon As new technologies enter the marketplace, older ones tend to fade off into the sunset, but don’t close the door on traditional KVM technologies just yet. While some server manufacturers have begun to integrate KVM functions directly on the motherboard, thus prompting a premature death knell, the demand for traditional KVM products remains strong. “I don’t think the traditional KVM is dead at all, as I find it to be very strong in ongoing markets, especially in the 2-port and 4-port switches where you don’t necessarily need IP KVM or the need to support servers remotely,” says Adrian Dickens, founder and managing director for Adder Technology (www.Processor.com/Adder), a UK-based KVM man
Yesterday I found a few free moments to sit down, put my feet up, and read a magazine. Sounds like heaven, I know. I grabbed the latest issue of my MomSense magazine and flipped to the feature story called “Are You Thriving or Surviving?” The main focus of the article was mothers should not stay stagnent, they need to grow and change and mature just as their children do. As I was reading a small section stood out to me.
“But there’s a difference between learning and growth. Learning is gaining knowledge and growth is moving towards maturity.”
Wow, does that say a lot about why some parents choose to homeschool. Giving our kids an education is more than just learning, it is about helping them grow. Knowing how to add and subtract is great, what what about knowing when it is worth saving your money or worth spending it. Reading about animals will help you learn, but it can’t beat going out and getting your hands dirty on a farm. For every lesson that
Today I was fortunate to be invited to a very interesting conference hosted by ExecutiveBiz and titled “Surviving & Thriving in the Flat World: China, India and You!”
The structure was a moderated panel hosted by Howard Frank (Dean at the Smith Business School at UMD). The panelists included: Amir Hudda of Apptix, Wei-Wu He of Emerging Technology Partners LLC, S. Tien Wong of Opus8, Jai Saboo of the Saboo Business Group and Tony Surak from Global Logic.
I wanted to share the notes I took as many of the panelists’ answers were both surprising and thought provoking. The conference was especially timely based on yesterday’s market dive caused by a drop in the Shanghai Index:
-There are currently over 200 cities in China with a million people or more
-“Modern India is in a very similar state to that of the US just after World War II. The difference being that the economic and technological gains the US accomplished over 50 years, China will do in 20.”
