Digital Marketing Will Survive, Possibly Thrive for SMBs In 2009
We’ve all heard the dire predictions of what 2009 will mean to marketers and make no mistake about it, the news isn’t great. I won’t bother with a rehash of what others have reported because, quite frankly, it’s too depressing to do so. What I offer instead is the proverbial silver lining in this dark, [...]

      children thrive on praise
After watching the video of Kelsey, who went home to be with the Lord in 2005, I have learnt to be thankful for the little boy I've been blessed with. It has also reminded me to be careful with my discipline style and intentions at all times. How easy for us to lose control when we get upset and make wrong decisions on child discipline. It's also important for a parent to realize that children thrive on praise. Parents in such a situation may always jump to discipline but fail to praise their child for their good deeds, behaviors and traits. Children instinctively want to please their parents and make them proud. By encouraging positive behavior, the parent will most likely discourage the behavior that has driven them in the past to punish too harshly. In order to encourage positive beha

Six Ways to Thrive During a Recession
by Rick NewmanEverybody's aware of the pain caused by a recession: Companies lay off workers, jobs become hard to find, and those who remain employed often have their wages and benefits frozen, or even cut. General anxiety leads millions of consumers to hunker down and stop spending, which slows the economy even more. But recessions always end, and in most downturns, the majority of consumers actually fare OK. For people with secure jobs, ample savings, or a strong financial safety net, lean economic times can even represent an opportunity to snap up bargains and exploit newfound leverage in a buyer's market. As with all financial decisions, trying to time the market and guess where the bottom is can be risky. But with a bit of luck, smart consumers, abiding by the usual prudent caveats, can

How to Thrive in the Current Real Estate Market
Our current real estate market in Las Vegas (and around the country) presents an interesting test for all involved... from the buyers, to the sellers to the practicing real estate agents and also for the brokerage firms  I've been living and working in Las Vegas since 1992 and this is my first experience in a "challenging market".   Fueled by local and national media with a slant to reporting the negative, "newsworthy" hype of doom and gloom, buyers are afraid to purchase, waiting for the  elusive "bottom of the market" before jumping back in.  Sellers are holding on to every ounce of equity and hope which has led to only about 30% of the current inventory of available homes to be priced properly for a sale based on current supply and demand.  And real estate professionals are either thriving, surviving, trying to adjust or in many cases giving up. The following points are my observations and best advice on how to Thrive&nb

      Mourinho Would Thrive At Arsenal!
The above headline is perhaps misleading - rest assured I am not suggesting Arsenal should be looking to bring Jose Mourinho to the club to replace Arsenal Wenger! Mourinho's shock exit from the Bridge has many of implications and there have been a lot of intertwining links surrounding the Premiership that I hope Arsenal can learn and benefit from. To get to my main point, I think Jose Mourinho would thrive in the kind of environment Arsene Wenger is currently blessed with. It's quite rediculous that Jose Mourinho was kept on such a tight leash at Chelsea because, love him or loathe him, he clearly knows what he's doing. Six trophies and two CL semi-finals is favourably symptomatic of a successful three years and there would doubtless have been more to come. Wenger enjoys circumstanstaces in the polar opposite at The Arsenal. He has almost complete freedom and without that pressure he is able to perform at his absolute peak for the majority of a season.

Readers Thrive On Consistency And Continuity
If you create an expectation of content on your blog, readers return expecting to find similar content. If you switch one week from blogging about grooming pets to blogging about grooming horses, you have set an expectation that your blog is about grooming animals. If you switch from grooming dogs to racing cars, readers are thrown off and their expectations aren’t met. The odds are they will not return for more. It used to be said that predictability was boring. In blogging, predictability builds return customers. They know you are the expert on this subject and that you are the source for information.
