Like the Colbert Report’s spoof on conservatives, one of the latest news sources to hit the blogosphere, Az Left, has hit home with its nonstop liberal satire. To the thrill and delight of its readers, the blog has come out with both guns blazing dealing with everything from local races to employer sanctions.“It is kind of hard to tell if they are serious or not,” said one reader, “But I t

There’s no doubt sex sells in Las Vegas, but you expect to see ads for adult films in the back of a magazine — not splashed across town. But a Las Vegas-based company has done just that, taking their advertising out of the seedy underbelly of the city.
And these ads aren’t offering girls — they’re [...]

The latest release of Gran Turismo is missing quite a bit under the hood.
Instead of waiting to unveil a full version of the hit racing series for PlayStation 3, developers roll out the scaled-back Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. The options are slim, but the experience is powerful.
Prologue is the appetizer for the eventual release of Gran Turismo 5. Players can choose from more than 60 cars. Its predecessor, Gran Turismo 4, has a garage of 700 vehicles.
After purchasing your first vehicle, you advance to circuit racing. Each tier involves 10 races you must conquer before moving to the next circuit. The events are spread across six tracks, including Daytona International Speedway.
Depending on how you finish, you’ll earn points for each race, which you can use to purchase new vehicles. Unf
The setting: Its this time last year. I'm randomly shopping one day (I know, we're all gasping with shock here) not needing something urgently, just having a browse. I decide to check out Supre, not a store I normally like. Its too loud, too crowded and makes me feel old (possibly because I am older than thirteen). But Shopping Commandment #2 states: Thou shalt occasionally step outside thy shopping boundaries. Here lies the path to random finds and not becoming stuck in a rut.
So somehow within the bad lighting I spotted this cardi to the left. Not too thick for Autumn. Thin enough to be worn over longsleeved tops in Winter without adding bulk. Can be worn with or without a belt (I generally wear mine without). And only $35AUD. I picked one up in a dark grey, the theory being grey

Some people seek for thrills and extreme adventures such as skydiving, whitewater rafting and kite surfing to name a few. DH and myself have contrasting interests. While he enjoys rafting in the waters and all the rough sea sports, I prefer adventures above land like skydiving and hang gliding.

It's been a while since I wrote about the importance of clear communication, but a few things here recently have pursuaded me to again, readress this concept.I was showing someone some homes and they made a remark about the fact that I had not shown them any homes listed by us. I pointed out that we didn't have any listings that specifically met thier criteria so I wasn't going to be showing them any of them.As the converstation went on, they made a comment about another agent they had stopped working with, fired, because all they would show them was thier personal listings or only listings from thier office. Also, most, really none of them were what they were looking for.WOW! I thought, aren't we supposed to be looking out for the buyer? As real estate consultants we take serious th

A few quotes related to hockey that I’ve heard or read recently:
Rick Ball, a Vancouver radio host, on Colorado Avalanche forward Ryan Smyth: “He’s done more crying than Tammy Faye Baker in the past six months.”
Well, Baker’s been dead for a while but it’s still a good one.
Smyth certainly has been blubbering at will ever since he was traded out of Edmonton because of a difference of a couple hundred thousand dollars.
Great fodder for people who want to rip the guy but I reckon if you’re not concerned about things like shedding tears in public on a monthly basis, you probably don’t have much to prove in terms of your character, toughness, guts etc.
Or, it could also have something to do with lacking that acute sense of self-awareness that can make some people cringe at the sight of their own shadow.
At Fan House, Greg Wyshynski quoting Steve Farber from a Sports Illustrated article on Islander’s player Chris Simon: “A man who
The boys at Dalal Street are having a Roller-Coaster ride for sure. Last week, we saw a fall from 19174 to 17307 and a rise through to make a new high at 19198. But finally the Sensex surrendered all gains to close the week at 17559.98. I asked a friend of mine who knows a lot about trading the reason for the Volatility? "Profit booking stupid" he said and I kind of felt guilty at that because I had booked profits on some of my stocks as well when the Sensex was at it's peak. But what the hell, don't you buy shares so that when the price of those shares rise, you sell them and book a profit? "Yes, but the markets eventually will reach levels close to 22,000 soon and you jumped the gun I am afraid" is what my friend said. I don't believe him, reason? gut feeling. But my limited experience with investing has already thought me that gut feelings don't count. So, I am planning to buy some more shares if the levels plummet even slightly again. It's currently at 17,613, if it comes down
New Zealand has given birth to adventurous stuuf like bungee-jumping, flying-by-wire and jet skiing. The first person to conquer Mount Everest was a Kiwi too; so its no wonder that in their craving for thrills, the 2 natives Andrew Akers and Dwane van der Sluis come out with yet another bizarre activity called "Zorbing" which is sure to send an adrenaline rush!!"Zorb" is basically a huge 3.2 meter inflatable transparent sphere made from PVC. The inside of the original zorb has 9 straps to keep the rider in place. So you are wearing a harness, and are tied to the periphery while you yourself experience as if you are floating. For the more adventurous people out there, you could also try the Hydro Zorbing, in which instead of a harness, you are cushioned by water. Once you're in, the fun really starts as the Zorb is launched down a hill and reaches speeds of up to 50km per hour, while you roll and bounce around inside. The clever bit is that there is an air cushion of two feet between y
The last film I saw that I was so scared that it took me for weeks of chills and terror was The Eye … until I saw 1408. I don’t usually get scared by anything but this movie really got under my skin.
1408 is a 2007 film based on the Stephen King’s short story of the same name directed by Swedish film director Mikael Hafstrom. The cast includes John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson. It is a story of a man played by John Cusack who specializes in debunking paranormal occurrences checks into the fabled room 1408 in the Dolphin Hotel. Soon after settling in, he confronts genuine terror.

BCXSY has created a swing it’d love you to see. It’s an LED swing that lights up at night to create a soothing ambient glow that probably (in designer speak) “creates an atmosphere of calm for the child”. Yeah, fantastic. How about you install four of these swings at an inner-city park and watch them get destroyed in a matter of hours? Or better yet, install them in a park in the suburbs and watch some 5-year-old get an ass full of broken glass. Great idea. The swing is made from acrylic-glass, rope, SMD LED lighting, and some press-switch mechanism. Not really sure what the last item is, though I’m guessing a switch to turn on the LEDs or something like that. Either way, cool idea, but certainly not practical. Unless you consider broken, smashed swingsets made out of glass practical. Maybe now is a good time for me to start work on that Faberge Seesaw I’ve been thinking of making…
While some find casinos a little stuffy and dog tracks kind of boring, these same people will flock to the races to get involved in horse betting. Providing an atmosphere that's entirely different that other forms of gambling, there's just something about the thrill of the race and glamour that goes along with this particular sport that reels people in.The truth is horse betting is a pastime that goes back hundreds of years in human history. Shortly after the first horse was tamed, the sport of horse racing was created, with this creation came horse betting. The sport has grown through the ages with horses bred specifically for racing and bloodlines fiercely protected.Considered a sport of kings and royalty for many years, the appeal of horse betting and the pomp and circumstance that surr
The Formula 1 season started on Sunday in Australia and despite not winning, Lewis Hamilton was the man making all the headlines in yesterday’s newspapers. The season kicked off with a traditional and dominating win for the Ferrari team, just with different personnel in the driving seat than the last few years. With Michael Schumacher’s retirement, it was left to his replacement Kimi Raikonnen to lead the Italian giants to victory. But the Finn’s drive was overshadowed by Lewis Hamilton, who made one of the most impressive Formula One debuts for years as he took third place.
Raikonnen led the race from beginning to end as the dominance of Ferrari continued into the new season. Last year’s world champion and McLaren superstar Fernando Alonso came in second place, only just edging out his team mate Hamilton in the final pitstops. Raikonnen’s drive and the superiority of his car over the rest of the field around Melbourne’s Albert Park intensified his
No flip flops here! While I'm a huge fan of the flat sandal, I've learned to agree with those who refer to those little sqooshy thongs as "shower shoes." They make funny noises when you walk and, on me at least, give a stride resembling a duck. So instead, pick up some of these charming numbers. While they might not be the highest quality, they'll help get you through the last few dreary days of chill without breaking the bank.Click on any image for pricing information.
I don't know if I'm a cheap date, but when it comes to cute clothes, it doesn't take much to thrill me. So when I get bored I go trolling through forever21's sale rack to see what's interesting.First off, it's corduroy. I love corduroy. I think I need to make a bedspread out of the wondrousness that is corduroy. Next, it's not black. It has a pencil skirt, a mandarin color, and funky little cap sleeves. I'm thinking yellow tights, red flats, and maybe a red belt? Corduroy Shirt Dress, $15.99 Not sure about those rhinestones, but it's long. And I'm all about long right now. I love the planes, too. Kind of an industrial take on the birds trend we've been seeing for a while. Studded Airplane Top, $7.99I'm not madly impressed with the construction on this--it looks a bit wonky in the picture. However, it's a black tunic. And I LIKE tunics. I would prefer it in a color, but still. With skinny pants and red boots? I could so deal with that. Sleeveless tunic, $8.99 Ok, this is o
