Mondays are good days for announcing things, don't you think? It's long been known that I'm a maker of lists and enjoy the pleasure of accomplishing tasks and marking them off of said lists, if for nothing else than just the satisfaction of seeing something was actually completed.
1. My brand-spanking new

This is what I paid for unleaded gas yesterday. The average price of a gallon in Southern Nevada on Tuesday was $3.98. They just announced that today it's $4.01. With that I bid a reluctant farewell to gasoline in the $3 range and welcome $4s with animosity. I haven't gotten acquainted with $4 yet, but I already know he/she/it is an asshole.I'm not going to write an obituary for you yet $3. I hope
Line of the Night: Stephen Jackson (6.1). My, how times have changed. Could you have seen this written about Jackson before this season?
Just when it appeared the Los Angeles Lakers were going to successfully rally from a 26-point deficit, the Golden State Warriors turned to Stephen Jackson.
Smart move.
Like Joe Johnson yesterday, Capt Jack’s line isn’t [...]

First, my wife is laid off from her second part time job. Second, my car breaks down on the way to work. And finally third, our cat poops on the floor. This morning. Here is how we dealt and are dealing with these problems. First we list them by urgency, come up with a plan, then execute said plan.Priority 1: Cat poop on our floor. Above losing a job and the car breaking down, the most urgent situation is that there is now a pile of poo on our carpet. This problem is two-fold. One is that the poop is there, which has now been cleaned up. The second is the smell is there, which may attract the cat back and send guests into a coma. What we need is a good disinfecting cleanser and let it soak in. When cats poop, they pee, which means we have pee soaked into the under-padding. Will do this evening.Priority 2: The car. I believe this is going to be a relatively easy fix, but unfortunately it had to be towed back to the house and put to sleep in the garage for the day. My estimated cost for pa
Last night, my Internet clicked off suddenly. I wasn’t best pleased, I was doing “Post Website Redesign Promotion/Catching up”, and really could not be dealing with the hassle of no Internet. Thank you very much Tesco.net. Rather than do something productive to help alleviate the stress of no Internet and shout at a poor excuse of a technician down the phone, I booted up my SNES emulator, and played the game I downloaded a few nights ago, Super Mario All Stars.
Specifically, Super Mario Brothers 3.
This game was the holy grail of my childhood, the game that was worth 3 games to swap, and I used to go to my mates houses who had Nintendo’s and watch them play, I was that in love with it. Eventually, I got a NES quite late on in the product’s lifespan, and I always rated Super Mario Brothers 3 the best of the games, the sheer brilliance of the level design (Fire Mario melted Ice in Ice Land, making fire flowers useful, rather than pointless compared to a Flying
I had a seriously fun weekend. Really. I'm not being sarcastic or anything. We went to a nearby lake on Saturday morning with friends and had so much fun. Neil cleaned out the garage that night while I did a ginormous shopping trip. After church on Sunday, lovely long naps were had by all. And while Neil did his thing at the BBQ, I followed the girls around with a camera, trying to snap shots whenever they slowed down. Which wasn't often. There aren't very many pictures. It was fabulous family fun all weekend long. I was also in pain all weekend long, and left to reflect how sometimes, true to old superstition, bad things come in threes:1) A severely bruised knee that doesn't hurt at all...except when it's poked, pinched, kicked, or sat on, at which point it becomes the epicentre of a pain so intense it leaves me doubled over with tears in my eyes and wondering what a broken kneecap feels like.2) The first sunburn of summer. Not just the first, but the worst I've ever had. Ouch!3)
The week’s routine is over, and the weekend has arrived. Mare & I received our two freebie rental coupons for the month and scored five rentals last night to start off our Bustaburger...

Some readers have commented I seem a bit cranky of late. Hadn't noticed it, but thought it best be addressed. Other than the ingestion of illegal substances, there is no better way to remedy this than to indulge in my Jodie Foster fixation. And to my rescue comes Scribegrrrl over at After Ellen, who yesterday shared Jodie in heavenly threes, singing a love song in French:Merci Merci MerciAll Better.
Dear Andrea,
I had the following dream in June. I am a middle-aged empty nester with six grandchildren. I bought a new business in July and took on a significant volunteer leadership role this year in an organization. This dream came about a week before both of these events occurred.
I was teaching a group of college kids at a high school camp. After our lesson, we toured the camp and were walking around looking at different buildings, etc., and I was explaining some of the purposes of them to the students. Across the way, here came three rams running right at us. I did not notice the colors of them. We all froze and were unable to move because the charge of the rams was so great. One of the rams butted one of the young male students. All three rams then ran off.
A few things are unclear. The students are probably those you are responsible for leading, and your actions a metaphor for what you’re doing with them in real life. The meaning of the college students at a high school ca
After a very crazy weekend I finally have time to sit down and blog. Sorry that I didn't post a Thursday night support group. It ended up being cancelled due to weather. Given that it was the last session, I was simply going to look at moving forward: ways to create support and maintain strength outside the group.
I did take advantage of the evening. We all went over to my Kindred Spirit's house
Sparta released their 3rd studio album "Threes" with the new guitarist member in the group. Threes is considered to be more bold and suprisingly hauling for long. The Threes album is definitely one of the rocking and rolling album this year. Aside of the Sparta's passionate songwriting and playing, their strong emo, guitar riffs and drums, and vocals are elements of being an alternative, indie, rock with some metal rock combinations and sometimes they maybe fall into screamo genre. The band was originally formed in 2001 from El Paso, Texas. More information at official website of Sparta. www.spartamusic.comALTERNATIVE PRESS Three albums. Three record labels. Three minor reinventions and just as many artistic progressions. Sparta are one of the punk community's most consistent and widely respected bands for good reasons.
