      The First Three Weeks
This blessed time full of baby smells and sounds, cooing siblings, and quiet family evenings comes with its hiccups, too! Daddy is away for the weekend, Gideon is colicky, and Mama is running on very little sleep. But still, as I smile over these pictures, I'm reminded not to let this time slip through my fingers. I hope you will enjoy these moments captured while I take a few more days to capture

      Around Morocco in three weeks
It has been more then three weeks now since my last post. In the meantime I was traveling around Morocco with M. All in all we had a really great time. Of course there were also some gloomy moments, but there was just so much more good stuff. When looking back I usually like to think of those not-so-nice moments as a good story-telling material. A nice sunset usually doesn't make a very

      Three Weeks to Go
It’s a bit over three weeks until the American general election and all the polls right now point to one outcome and one outcome only: President Barack Obama. On the face of it we have McCain’s public contrition, suggesting strongly that he’s trying to reposition himself as the Bob Dole - the inevitable but honourable [...]

So, three weeks from now I will be a different person, I guess.
I have started a three (!!!!) week long detox to cleanse my body of all the nasty toxins I carry around and to rebuild my system. This is day one. Apart from bread, white pasta and wine everything I can eat is no different from what I usually eat (in fact, the woman helping me with this admitted that my normal diet was pretty good and that it shouldn't be too difficult for me to readjust). But the s

Three weeks to go before labor...
It's about three weeks to go before my June 10 pregnancy labor. Well, if the calculation and my actual labor is the same that is.I'm still working at the office. People are telling me that I should have a leave a month before my labor. But I'm still at the office. I just feel heavier, harder to get up on bed, and that's it. So I don't know why I should be at home resting. The office is has ai

Fatah and Hamas reach framework accord in three weeks of secret talks
DEBKA - The two parties endeavored to keep their channel under cover after Abbas promised President George W. Bush on the first visit he paid the Palestinian Authority on Jan. 10 - and assured Vice President Dick Cheney on March 23 - that he would not hold talks with Hamas. The channel is run by close confidants of the Fatah and Hamas leaders, but during the Arab League Summit on March 29 and 30, Abbas and Meshaal met face to face to confirm the points of agreement achieved thus far. Both US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice and Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert are well aware of Abbas underhand track but are keeping it dark to avoid embarrassment, because Bush has branded Hamas a terrorist movement, and Olmert is committed to breaking off peace talks with the PA chairman if he starts a

Fernando Torres and Xabi Alonso ruled out for three weeks
Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has been ruled out for three weeks with an adductor injury, the club has said. Midfielder Xabi Alonso is also facing a spell on the sidelines after X-rays revealed he had fractured the fourth metatarsal in his left foot. Both players were injured during Sunday's 1-1 draw against Arsenal, along with team-mate Javier Mascherano. However, the Argentine midfielder has suffered only extensive bruising and no bone injury, scans have revealed. Torres suffered a recurrence of the injury which had kept him out for a month before he played in Sunday clash at Anfield. Alonso limped off after 68 minutes while Torres was replaced by Peter Crouch at half-time and Mascherano was left with his foot in a medical boot. Manager Rafael Benitez said: "Alonso has suffered the same injury again, the metatarsal, he felt something go in his foot. "Torres also has a similar injury, a problem with an abductor muscle. He could not work as hard as we wanted, we wanted his pace and

How the Democrats Lost the 2008 Election in Three Weeks: From Moveon.org, to Liberals Siding with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad over Lee Bollinger
The Democrats just lost the 2008 election. They will not be able to overcome the Far-Left’s insanity. Stick a fork in them; they are done.If it was not bad enough that Moveon.org attacked 4-star General Petraeus, calling him ‘General Betray Us,’ Moveon.org has continued their disgraceful antics over the last few weeks. Consequently, many Democrats, including Hillary Clinton, were forced to take the indefensible position of siding against those who are trying to secure Iraq.We have heard from an unnamed insider that the Democrats in Congress are furious over the Moveon.org ad. While many Democrats really believe that the War in Iraq is wrong, some of them are actually patriotic Americans who support General Petraeus, Jim Webb comes to mind. But, Moveon.org has taken over the Party, contributing more money than the NRA, and the Democrats are powerless to stop them. Now let us go forward one week. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is invited to speak at Columbia University. Lee Bollinger, b

      Three Weeks In Burbank
I’m over half way through my three week trip to Burbank. I’ve got two ScribeStorm developers with me working on site (consulting) at Technicolor on a project I can’t talk about right now. It’s been exciting and exhausting, fun and stressful. There’s been very little smog, but the heat has been pushing past 100 degrees daily. We work long hours with few breaks, but the food has been great - in addition to the great dining Burbank has to offer, the cafeteria shared by Technicolor and Yahoo! is yummy. I’m gaining weight for the first time in . . . well since I was like 2. The best part, and biggest irony, is that my commute these weeks in Burbank is even shorter than my commute back in Fairfield. I am actually walking to work from the hotel. Who walks to work in southern California? It’s crazy. The Marriott we’re staying at is right next door to the office building and one of the entrances to the office is less than a hundred yard

      Three Weeks of Testing
Patience is leaving tomorrow for a trip to California with her husband. For three weeks, Anna and I are going to be taking care of the barn ourselves and for a couple days I'm going to be taking care of the barn pretty much alone (Tanya and Tristan will be available on their phones if I need something), as Anna will be moving to New York City a couple of days before Patience gets back. I'm looking forward to the challenge, and it sounds like while Patience is gone, I might get more riding time. That would be exciting. The first week is going to be the hardest, though, because Tony is going to the beach with his family this week. Since he's the cook in the house, I'm going to have to try to keep track of everything at work and make dinners. It's looking like the next couple of weeks are going to be an adventure. Sure am looking forward to it.

Foreclosure Listings at Vue at Brickell Doubles in Three Weeks
On May 24, 2007 I posted an entry entitled, “Vue at Brickell - Overpriced or Insanely Overpriced?“, in which I questioned the average price per square foot of the condo units at a building called Vue at Brickell. I surmised that mortgage fraud may have been partly at fault for prices at Vue at Brickell reaching such irrational levels. At that time there were three listed foreclosure units in the building. Now, there are a total of six. In three weeks the number of the listed units that are currently in the foreclosure process have doubled. Those are just the ones that are listed. I’m sure there are others. Below you will see those six listings, as well as relevant property information. (FL#=floor number, #BEDS=number of bedrooms, #FB=number of full baths, #HB=number of half baths, LA=living area square footage, LP$=list price, LP$/SqFt=average price per square foot, #GAR=number of parking spaces, WTRFR=waterfront?) I find it humorous that two of the listings c

      Three Weeks On .......
Everything is certainly getting bigger and most of the seeds are starting to sprout. I have also added wildflower seeds around the edges and between the pea stakes with a view of attracting insects but also to make it look nice. With it being so dry for so long the drought buster has proved to be an excellent buy as the veggie patch and the rest of the garden have only been watered with water from the bath. As we are on a water meter here I would hate to think how much it would have cost if I was watering from the house tap. I have moved the bag's of spuds to a sunnier location and they have gone mad, we have topped up the soil twice in the last few days. The onions are noticeably more onion in appearance to, though i suspect they will need thinning at some point. The slugs are not to much of a problem at the minute, it is hard to say whether this is because it is so dry or the nightly check by us and the frogs is having an effect. We even had some chives, from the patch with tea tonig

Saturday Morning Headlines, First Winning Streak in Three Weeks Edition
Let's pretend that Nutty Buddy kicked Edmonds in the ribs right after this photo was taken. Bruce Miles writes about last night's game I'm sick of cliché headlines. And the Daily Herald always has weird characters in the midst of their articles. See if you can find today's From the Daily Herald: Rookie Felix Pie hit his first major-league homer before highly paid Alfonso Soriano hit his first as a Cub. Soriano helped the Cubs more with his glove than with his bat as he gunned down one runner at the plate and another at second base. And closer Ryan Dempster earned an "old-fashioned" save, working 1¿ innings, largely because setup man Bob Howry had a bad back after moving his barbecue grill. ... Dempster saved the victory for right-hander Jason Marquis, who is 2-0 against his former team and 3-1 overall. Marquis stranded three runners over his first 2 innings and gave up 1 run in the third before finding a groove. He threw 13 pitches in the fourth inning, 7 in the fifth and 8
