What is the story behind the name of your blog and nickname? My blog is called F&ART which derives from Fashion & ART and that's what it's all about. F&ART can be pronounced "F and ART" or simply "FART" (we would say "FURZ" in German). I really do love fashion, art, design and all things creative, but do not take all of this THAT seriously. Talking about nice clothes, people's styles etc. is fun and I like the volatil
It seems that I got tagged with a “Thinking Blogger Award” by Jenny MCB last year and somehow missed it. Far be it from me to let my laziness get in the way of a meme, so here are four blogs that always make me stop and think:
Bookforum - What can I say. Every post packed full of links to interesting articles all over the web, covering every topic under the sun, from the politics of poop to the complex task of simplicity just to take a couple of recent examples.
Eurozine - Eurozine is a network of European cultural journals, linking up 70 partner journals and just as many associated magazines and institutions from nearly all European countries. Eurozine is also a netmagazine which publishes outstanding articles from its partner journals with additional translations into on
Well, management by God has been tagged as a recipient of the Thinking Blogger Award. I thank Jerry from As The Crackerhead Crumbles for selecting me for this great honor. My biggest goal with management by God has been to challenge people to take a serious look at the Scriptures and think about how they can be applied in the workplace. There is way too much guidance there for us to not learn and apply the lessons that wait there for us. So it is nice to know that I seem to be hitting the mark! Thanks Jerry!
The participation rules are simple:
1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger A
I was nominated for a "Thinking Blogger Award" by "Il Grande" (per me lo sei!) MasterMax! I have been given quite a few awards, would one think I become blasée? NOT AT ALL! This is like a recognition from your "peers" of the good work you are doing, and it is only natural that you contribute to other good work being done to be known by retributing the honour you have been given to others. FJ, primo as tuas palavras inspiram deveras! Paulo, porque a vida é tão simples e tão bela...porquê complicar, não é?
While checking in on my favorite sites and blogs on my reader last night, I discovered that Richard over at A Quiet Watercourse had nominated me for a Thinking Blogger award. Thanks, Rich, for the generosity of spirit to add me to that list!! Richard’s thoughtful blog is always inspiring and I enjoy the read there. (I just want to note the cool description he added about me and this blog, “Imagine you are Neo, the words ‘Wake up Neo, the Matrix has you’ appear on your screen. Meet the woman doing the typing, Angela’s blog is truly eye and mind opening.” Wow!) Ever so humbly I am always amazed that people out there not only read my blog but GET IT!!
The award is a way to pass on ‘blog memes‘ over the Internet and I think it’s a great idea, especially when it involves blogs and writers one knows and respects rather than simple mass linking/spam which I know many sites do as well. In researching the award I already happened on

Hot on it. I mean it wasn't a day before I found out and went nutty. (So nutty I put an apostrophe in went: wen't. Cracker moment. It actually is in the water.)The Marvelous Madame Meow has honored me with this dandy piece of bloggy bling. The meme started with The Thinking Blog back in February, which makes it a pretty fast traveler. It would be interesting to see the tree. Exactly how many degrees of separation are we from any other given blogger? Or any of the first five "thinking bloggers"?This reminds me of an old, goofy internet game. I can't remember whether it was from the early days of Wired, or from the "gone glossy" days of Details (I remember when it was a Club Kid rag! Am I dating myself? I was a baby, but have a great memory...) It's called "Web That Smut". Aw, I can't stand it. I have to look it up.Okay, it was Andy Ihnatko, called Web That Smut!, and appeared originally in, well, golly, I still don't know. It could even have been Playboy given when I read it. (The
Jay considered me for a Thinking Blogger Award, which is a lovely surprise, to say the least! My blog is my home away from the bustle of everyday life & a place to share my thoughts, my desires & pretty much every other dollop of dribble that may make a splash onto these pages.I had to carefully choose 5 Blogger's whom I thought were worthy of such recognition. Very difficult given that everyone I have on my link, is there because I just love following the journey's of others that may be a world away, yet make me feel so close through their writings. So I am sticking to the principles surrounding the award & the following 5 are my choices.Buff Tuff: Every writing by this wonderful guy touches a nerve that gives cause to want to read more, sometimes touching, other times brutally sharp, but always honest. He really is a champ!Human Nature: Steven is witty, charming, funny, serious & a definite thinker! His writing style is forward & unabashed. I clearly enjoy his musings as much

Harriette from Artistic Musings has tagged me and because I do have blogs that get me thinking decided to play. Note: I do not expect these bloggers to play along because they have either participated in tags before and there is only so many we can do. Also these blogger's are busy in their own right with tagging not perhaps fitting into their blogging routine.Congratulations, you won a Darren Rowse - Problogger Darren's blog was the first RSS feed that I had listed outside of my artist listings. To this day Darren Rowe's blog is still one of my favourite reads with his typing finger always alerting my thinking brain of ways to improve my own writing, promoting my blog and generally a more professional approach to blogging.Alyson B Stanfield - Art Biz Blog Alyson is another blogger that any artist that is serious about their work should be reading. Alyson's posts will often give that much needed kick up the backside to get me thinking about what I should be doing as a professional
Random Magus recently tagged me with the Thinking Blogger Award, a meme created by Ilker Yoldas of The Thinking Blog. The rules, as outlined by Ilker, go as follows: If, and only if, you are tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think.Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme.Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote.Since I have recently taken up writing as my new pastime, I have frequented numerous blogs and found many to be quite interesting. This list isn’t exhaustive, of course, but the following are five noteworthy blogs with which I may not always agree, but certainly have made me think.Nick Queen covers many topics, including recent events, politics, theology, and pop cultu
Happy to say that Inspirations and Creative Thoughts blog is tagged as Thinking Blogger Award by both Tiel Aisha Ansari of Knocking from Inside Blog and Michelle from Kombai.Tiel mentions:Inspirations and Creative Thoughts, Sadiq Alam's blog - Sadiq posts more often and more regularly than anyone else in my blogroll, and it's always worth reading for anyone with an interest in the life of the spirit.Michelle writes:Sadiq's "Inspirations and Creative Thoughts" for living up to that title most beautifully.Moving forward the tagging | The rule says, when you're tagged, you get to post about five blogs that make you think, and pass the tag on to them. They then get to post about five other blogs as well. Specifics: 1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to five blogs that make you think,2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award.'MysticSaint's nomination for 5 Thinking
Almost a month ago, dootz from SurfCountry nominated me for the Thinking Blogger Award. Quite honestly, I wasn't really sure what it meant--and I'm still not sure--but I was pleased nonetheless. Evidently, in order to participate, I have to do the following:1. Cite the post that he gave me this award for, which you can read here. (Actually I need to check with dootz about this, so I'll get back to you on this.)2. I am supposed to refer you back to the original post of the person who created the award, which is here.3. And then I am supposed to cite five blogs that make me think. So, the five blogs I'm nominating for the Thinking Blogger Award are:Bipolarity: Perspectives on Life Through a Bipolar Lens (I've mentioned Syd's blog many times but once again, she's a terrific writer and writes on important topics);Roller Coaster (I've also mentioned Marja's blog many times and her strength, aside from writing and painting, is her concentration on faith-based mental health)One Ye
I’ve been a bit lax with the Meme’s lately, so I figured that I’d cover them today:
I’ve recently been nominated by both Ben Solah and Allie B for the Thinking Blogger Award! I really appreciate these nominations, especially from bloggers whose sites I admire so much. Thanks!
So, now it’s my turn to list the bloggers who make me think. I know that some of my favorite bloggers have already been nominated, so I will try to stick to bloggers who have not:
Heavy Metal Time Machine: My favorite music blog. Mark covers heavy metal and hard rock from the 80s. He gets the readers involved with fun games and challenges and post frequently.
Jen Robinson’s Book Page: An exhaustive site dedicated to children’s literature. Jen’s site is loaded with information, reviews, interviews and tons more on this subject. If you have a child that loves books, you should check out her site.
The Musings of David Amulet: Dave has a knack for combining odd news wit
It never occured to me that I might be tagged to write this post. Someone actually pointed me out as a "Thinking Blogger". Thank you so very much Jim at I'm Forty-What??!! for this honor. You have left me quite speechless.I've been blogging since June '05 (yes it's been THAT long) and only recently began to devote the time and attention quality blogging requires and deserves. I don't know which posts are considered 'thinking' posts or which are not but I have a hunch my blood spatter isn't one of them and neither is this glimpse into my real world. Just the same, I am honored and am happy to pass that honor along!I hereby tag:Ellinetha: Though you have been my best-friend for the last 18 years and I know how you think - you have begun sharing that with the world through your blog. You are funny. You are honest. You are a thinking blogger.SuperTiff: Regardless if you are queen of the world or not, I enjoy your posts about sports, pump cheese and when you realized that you had be
Dear Useless Men, Congratulations, you have been nominated for a thinking blogger award!ilyaDear ilya, In the words of many an Actor or Actress (or is it just Actors for both now? ( Political correctness will be the death of me.)) Let's start over, in the words of many a Performer, "It is an honour just to be nominated." To most people that statement is a load of crap, but I find it delicious that we would even be considered for such a prestigious award as the "Thinking Blogger". The irony about the "Thinking Blogger" award is that we clearly put no thought into our advice. It is mind boggling, some of the stuff we write. I mean, we go off on such tangents that readers are bound to be thinking, "What ..?" and be left pondering the response for days. The amount of time people must have wasted thinking on our responses must be incredible. "What were you thinking?" is heard more often than not, and the answer is always the same: we weren't. There is nothing more useful than a

Thanks to Rene, for awarding me the 'thinking blogger award.'Now, I must choose 5 other sites that make me think. A tough one!Since Rene has already received this honor, I will pick 5 others. I will also pick bloggers who I think will pass on the honor.1. The Mimosa Effect 2 It's fun to follow along Desert Rat's journey of writing. DR is motivated and shares great insights on writing, poetry, life and kitty-cats. Definitely makes me think.2. Quantum Storytelling Redchurch can outthink us all. I just love reading his concepts and theories. Never a dull post (sometimes they're over my head - but never dull!).3. Dr. Bill's Harley Wisdom As a writer of romance, or any genre for that matter, I believe it's important to understand how humans interact in relationships. Well, Dr. Bill's site is the place to learn about that! He explores love and relationships to a deep level that can help writers understand why their heroines and heroes do what they do.4. Writer Un

Having taken entirely too long in getting my Thinking Bloggers Award post out and then only posting on the first three; I finally have the final two selections ready. In the interest of keeping the process going correctly, here of the rules of engagement: Participation in the "Thinking Blogger Awards;" the rules are simple:1. We’ve been tagged by cousins over at The Meezer Mirror, thanks guys :) ( it was very hard to choose, all the cat blogs had already been tagged)
1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,
2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,
3. Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn’t fit your blog).
Meg-Blogpond She gets me thinking about lots great online/aussie/girly things, how many great Aussie Bloggers there are with her Top 100 index. And also, that there are some great geeky girls out there (even if the 20 something males out number us :P)
Wendy-eMoms Wendy is such a huge inspiration to Mums (and Dads) She makes me think about how much anyone can achieve, no matter the odds if they are determined and work hard. Not to mention all the other great knowledge she shares.
Thanks to Karl Lindgren for giving The Conscious Earth the nod for the Thinking Blogger Award. The award kicked off a couple months ago as a peer driven effort to weed through the fat of the blogosphere and deliver to readers the highest quality and most thought provoking content available. The winners, in turn, nominate five blogs that make them think, thus passing the torch throughout the online community and giving us all something to think about. With heartfelt thanks to all of The CE's readers throughout the past 11 months, here are my own nominations for the Thinking Blogger Award. As the first rule of thinking is independence of thought, sharp readers will notice that not all of these are, strictly speaking, 'blogs'. My priority was in offering choices that genuinely made me think, regardless of the nature of the site.Enjoy!Desmogblog - Clearing the PR pollution that clouds the science of climate change. Well, I was given a Thinking Bloggers Award, having been recognized by A Voice Of Reason. It is extremely rewarding to be thought of this way. I started this blog as a kind of therapy, to voice my opinion and concerns, and it feels good to know I have connected with people.
A Voice Of Reason is one of the blogs that I would have nominated had I received the award first and I highly recommend his blog as a must read.
So now it’s my turn to nominate five blogs, here goes:
opinionnation
A hard hitting conservative blog. Very opinionated as the title suggests.
Political Vindication
Two men fighting the main stream media to hold on to the country they love.
American And Proud
The name says it all.
American Traditionalist
A New Hamphire (my great state) based political blog. With local issues sprinkled in.
New England Republican
A political blog about national politics, and politics local to New England
As you can see my choices have a basic theme to them, it’s the theme that
I was recently honored to receive the Thinking Blogger Award from the On the Wing blog. I have decided to nominate the following five blogs that make me think - in no particular order:Right TruthRed SkyPlanck's ConstantClarity & ResolveIslamic EvilMany thanks again to On the Wing, a real quality blog, for this award.
Lynn at And Babies Make Six has awarded me the “Thinking Blogger Award.” I make her think, which is more than I ever did for most of my students so I must be getting more interesting as I age. Of course, the other possibility is that she, as a multiple mom, is, like me, so sleep deprived that trying to remember what you call that applicance that keeps things cold requires thought. I called it a “sink” yesterday. No, really.
This award is fun because you get to pass the bloggy love. It was started here. The rules go like this:
If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think.
Link to the original post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme.
Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote (here are the two buttons: silver version or gold).
So, without more ado, my additions to the thinking blogger list are:
Mom’s Tinfoil Hat
Dante&rsq
I received my first blog award last week. Jen over at Prayer Warrior says that my blog makes her think. Wow! Thank you Jen. She leaves me comments very regularly, so I know she's reading almost daily. I am very honored to be one of her 5 picks. This award is fun because you get to pass the bloggy love. It was started here. The rules go like this:If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote (here are the two buttons: silver version or gold). There are so many great blogs to choose from. I am late getting this out because I've been doing some thinking myself! Since I'm a mom of multiples, I'm going to follow the multiples theme and award it to some multiple moms that make me think. It's not easy raising multiples.Angus and The Triplets - Starring Angus, Ruca, Nadia and Ma
One of my favorite bloggers (the one who's posts are my daily dose of delight) gave me an award called "The Thinking Blogger Award". This award meme was started by The Thinking Blog. It was originally called '5 Blogs That Make Me Think'.The participation rules are simple:1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wroteWell Beth, what can I say? Thank you for this honor :) - I am glad I make you think because you do the same to me. Of course my favorite part about your blog is that you have the ability to bring out the laugher in me (yes, that Beth is so funny) but many of your posts also inspire me to think deeper. I'm glad you got tagged and won the award, then you gave it to me (don't we just love each other :)So, without further adoo, I'd like to pass
our beloved drug nazi was bestowed the thinking blogger award by way of mother jones. both blogs are so deserving of this award. drug nazi's blog, your pharmacist may hate you, is a painfully honest, witty, clever and scary look into drug companies, medical insurance and what it's like working for a pharmacy. for most of us being bent over and fucked by the above, this is a great read! mother jones blog, nurse ratched's place is an equally fantastic read. mother is a nurse with years and years of experience. she recently started a go ask mother column that I encourage you to utilize. she writes about what it's like being a nurse, the bureaucracy and her commitment to invoke change. The recipient of this award must follow these rules: Acknowledge the origin of the meme/awardIf you are tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you thinkOptional: Display the "Thinking Blogger Award" with a link to the post that you wrote using either the gold or silver versions of the aw

My friend Mary Anne (Smalltown RN) from across the border in Canada, has given me the "Thinking Blogger Award"... She has said so many nice things that my head is soon going to swell. When I was given this award before I had a very hard time selecting only 5 of my friends to pass it on to. Everyone on my sidebar makes me think. You might have noticed that I have a spiffy new button on my sidebar. Michelle from Scribbit: A Blog About Motherhood in Alaska honored me with it, saying that she selected me because “she (meaning me) thinks about words and is a good writer.” Those words are high praise. Thanks Michelle.
Which brings up something else I’ve been thinking about… Maybe you’ve noticed that some blogs are great with adding photos or images to go with nearly every post. I must admit, I enjoy seeing all those photos; they’re always great additions. But I often don’t think to add photos to my own posts. And I even got a new camera to help inspire me (to be reviewed in an upcoming post).
I think it’s because words are my primary medium. It’s my job as a writer to help spark my readers’ imagination so they can create their own images in their own minds. I don’t feel that I’ve done a good job unless I’m fairly certain that my painting
