Will Manchester United pay £20 million for Carlos Tevez?
It’s been reported that in order to make permanent Carlos Tevez’s move to Old Trafford, United would need to cough up around £20 million. With such a hefty price tag, will the transfer ever be completed? I mean, £20 million buys a lot of options. Tevez is halfway through a two year loan deal at Old [...]

      Tevez FA cup doubt
Carlos Tevez is a doubt for Saturday’s FA Cup third round clash with Aston Villa after suffering an ankle injury against Birmingham City, but Wayne Rooney is expected to recover from a virus in time for the trip to the West Midlands. Tevez got the goal that handed United victory over Villa’s city neighbours at Old Trafford on New Year’s Day, but a heavy challenge on his ankle means he is now a major doubt for the game.“Carlos got a bad tackle on his ankle in the first half and the longer he played the worse it got,” Sir Alex told MUTV.“We had to bring him off and we will assess him on Wednesday morning to see what damage there is. Obviously, he is doubtful for Saturday now.”Tevez was carried off at the end of the game after being replaced by Louis Saha. Although the injury is

Carlos Tevez: "No Mourinho, No Chelsea"
Manchester United ace Carlos Tevez believes Jose Mourinho's exit has weakened Chelsea this season. "Chelsea always are a dangerous team but I don't think they will be in the race for the title by the end of this season," he told the Daily Mail. "The exit of Jose Mourinho and the injuries have damaged them too much to recover. When we played them we were greatly superior and I think that is the way it will be this season. "Arsenal are more dangerous and I think that, at this moment, they have the best young players in Europe. For me it is not a surprise that they are leading the league table and they are our big rivals this season. "But I do have a doubt about them. What I don't know is if they are prepared to cope with the pressure that will come during their worst moments of the season. That's what we all have to deal with at some stage. It's hard and their players are very young. We'll see what happens. "During the first part of the season we were struggling ourselves with inj

Tevez Leads Rout Against Latics (Manchester United 4 - Wigan 0)
United's already packed treatment table had to endure more load after today's game. Already losing Carrick to a mid-week elbow fracture, tissue-boy (Saha) did himself no favours when he hurt himself during the warm-up to today's game.Once again in an absolutely crazy weekend where there was only one 3pm kickoff (and we're not on that list yet again), we had an early kickoff. And what it meant was that Kentona and I had to spend a mini-fortune bringing our better halves for another expensive prawning trip just to catch the game in peace. In a first half plagued by injuries to both Vidic and O'Shea, we had little to show for. Their replacements Anderson and Danny Simpson showed what little depth and experience we had left in reserve. With further injury scares to both Evra and Pique, Kentona and I were left wondering what else we had to offer from the bench. Thankfully we were playing one of the worst away teams in the form of Wigan. Had the competition been any stiffer, we could hav

(more…)

FIFA Recommendation: Carlos Tevez Dispute West Ham vs Manchester United
FIFA has made a recommendation that the dispute over footballer Carlos Tevez should be settled in the Court of Arbitration for Sport. FIFA had been asked to arbitrate on the case involving Carlos Tevez and his proposed move to Manchester United. The dispute is regarding the ownership right over Tevez, with West Ham, Manchester United and Tevez’s agent Kia Joorabchian all involved. Andreas Herren of FIFA said: “The recommendation from Fifa to the FA and the Premier League is to go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. “Under the circumstances it was felt it would be in the best interest of all parties to take this course. “It looks like being the fastest way of resolving this matter. “It is not a refusal by Fifa to get involved, quite the contrary. It is a recommendation by Fifa to opt for this way.” Is this the best way to settle the Carlos Tevez dispute? Source Written by Sam for Product ReviewsIn Sections: News, Sports News

FIFA to Handle Tevez Dispute (FA Rant)
After West Ham refused to grant permission to Tevez to undergo a medical, United look set to finally approach the soccer governing body, FIFA, to settle the long over-drawn dispute. The TelegraphTimesPersonally I'm glad to have FIFA intervene instead of the Premier League or the FA. Both the latter organisations have their collective heads so far up their arses that nothing sweet smelling ever comes out from them. At least a negative ruling by FIFA wouldn't leave such a foul taste in the mouth.....not that I'm expecting a one.If the FA was called to settle this dispute, I'm wouldn't be surprised that we'd end up being charged for illegal tapping or some other ludicrous charge. According to the FA, there's always one rule for the others, and an entirely different set for us. Off the top of my head, I can think of the number of times the FA has screwed us.1 - Eric Cantona 95. We all remember that infamous kung-fu kick. Tevez Deal in Turmoil
What would have been a dream signing for United is quickly turning into a media circus by the minute, depending on which side of the news you're reading. The latest offering is that West Ham has thrown a 'hammer' in the works by claiming that they have full control over Tevez's transfer. Is Tevez worth all the aggravation? Personally, I think he is. Here's a player who announced his desire for the club since 05 when he wore a United shirt for a Corinthians press conference. Here's a player who could not contain his joy when he blurted out that he was joining United to his Argentine teammates in Venezuela (while playing in the Copa America). Here's a guy who rejected Inter Milan just so he could have a chance to play for United. I don't know what your opinions are, but to me, that's as good as finding United gold, especially for a player of his calibre.I'm hoping that it all gets resolved sometime soon before the media circus consumes us all. Carlos Tevez, A Worthwhile Signing For Arsenal?

Tevez, a 23 year old who shone at the 2006 World Cup for Argentina has been credited as the main reason West Ham United escaped relegation to the Championship. "Carlitos" scored 7 goals in the last 10 games of the Premiership season moving West Ham from a position where all seemed lost to stay in the Premiership after Tevez scored the winning goal against champions Manchester United on the last day. These performances caused Tevez to be linked to a number of clubs- the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea all mentioned as a possible destination for West Ham's stellar performer. Tevez On Year's Loan?
I'm trying really hard to contain my excitement here. Apparently discussions have taken place to bring Tevez to Old Trafford for a year's loan.Just the prospect of Tevez wear the red of Manchester United is already giving me a hard on. I'm pretty sure I'm going to watch some Paris Hilton porn later.Perhaps it's just as well, I'd be away for a week without any news. If this deal doesn't go thru, I'd be disappointed as hell. And I suspect there's a really high chance of it not happening, especially since the source of the news has only appeared in the Daily Mail.In other news, it looks like a Heinze departure is imminent. The fee is £7 million and the destination is Real Madrid.

Solutions To West Ham Tevez Row
Seriously is anyone sick of this whole Tevez row? I know I am. This whole thing is going to take the entire summer to play out, and FIFA sticking it's grubby self-righteous hands into it isn't going to make things anymore pleasant.Already Sheffield United, Charlton, Fulham and Wigan are planning a suit against the inaptitude of the Premier League to dock West Ham points. Chairman of Wigan, Dave Whelan, has publically called for Dave Richards, the Premier League chairman, and Richard Scudamore, chief executive, to step down.Meanwhile in a desparate attempt to avoid relegation, Sheffield United chairman Kevin McCabe has ridiculously suggested the league be expanded to 21 teams to salvage some sense of fairplay to all sides involved.Hence in the spirit of all the silliness going on, here are some tongue-in-cheek solutions.Solution #1The Premier League deducts 2 points off West Ham for fielding an ineligible player. Tevez Steals The Show (Manchester United 0 - West Ham United 1)
There were celebrations all round when the final whistle blew. West Ham had staved off relegation and Manchester United were crown champions of England.Despite being almost overwhelmingly outplayed by United, Tevez willed West Ham to an unlikely victory. On paper, the United team that started lacked star names like Giggs, Scoles or Ronaldo, but they played like stars yet somehow the West Ham goal led a charmed life. Even when the trio were introduced in the second half, the West Ham defence could not be breached.Ultimately, it was a Tevez goal in the first half that settled the match. A fitting end to the season for a West Ham team that looked doomed only two months ago, only for Tevez to claw and inspire them to safety on the last day.(In my best Keegan impersonsation) I would have loved to see West Ham relegated to ease the pain of 95.
