Last Sunday, I attended the first annual West Territory Youth Festival. It was held in Whittier, California. It was fantastic, encouraging, motivating, and educational. I learned more about our mentor, Daisaku Ikeda, as well as Nelson Mandela, Betty Williams, Cesar Chavez, and Wangari Maathai. The festival, appropriately entitled “Unstoppable, A Life of Victory!” made me realize the power of the individual.

Unfortunately I don’t bring any good news in this blog post. In fact, it’s the news I was expecting, and dreading bringing you for a while. For this moment in time on release, we won’t be able to offer you Enemy Territory Quake Wars servers. I had a hint this would happen when we weren’t chosen to host the beta servers.
It’s a huge shame because we were going to offer you, our thousands of game server players, the chance to switch instantly to the new game on release via our custom control panel. We will however, be offering the unranked version hopefully on release. So it’s not all that bad…I guess.
So why weren’t we chosen? We tried to work with the developers from the start, but we feel it was quite apparant that two other GSP’s had already got in. I think we were too late, although this isn’t really confirmed or know.
From what I’ve seen so far, there are two definite providers, although I can’t confirm this.
The demo for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will be released mid-September, a message from Splash Damage to the community reveals:
“Our first goal after completing the game’s demo (planned for release in mid-September - we’re working on that right now) will be to watch closely and address any issues that come up in the first few weeks after the game’s release. Next, we’ll be putting the polish on the Software Developers Kit, including the Source Code, Level Design Tools and documentation to make sure mod-makers get what they need.”
With this and the Crysis demo on Sept25th, plus the imminent release of both games, it’s an excellent time to be a PC gamer.

Join the war between the GDF and Strogg in the Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Beta II for PC. Starting today you can sign up for the second public Beta at Fileplanet (and the Client).
So if you can’t make it to QuakeCon 2007 this weekend, you’ll still be able to join in on the party. If you got into the first Beta, then you can use your existing username, but 25,000 new keys are being given away now. At the con Activision and id Software announced a release date for the PC version on September 28th in Europe and October 2nd in America.

The premier coffee company, Starbucks (SBUX), may be finally bottoming out. Yesterday, SBUX closed below $26 per share. Investors need to look all the way back to October 2005 to see similar stock prices. If we close below $23-24 per share, the company should be bought. Earnings growth is still a major story for Starbucks and China stands to be one of the greatest. Yesterday, the markets finally entered a minor correction and sell off, after rallying for multiple weeks in a row. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended down 147.74 points by the end of the day, settling close to the day’s lows. After 25 of 29 days of the DJIA rallying, the market finally became spooked by poor data and extremely weak sales numbers. One high growth sector has been selling off and looks ripe for buying in with a bullish sentiment in the near future.
The exchanges were once again heavily sold off today, as the sentiment around the companies continued to slide. Fortunately, the slide may be reaching a bottom and the exchanges are looking more oversold than they’ve ever been.

We are currently in talks with the developers of the up and coming game, Enemy Territory Quake Wars, the sequel to Wolfenstein Enemy Territory. In early trading on Thursday morning, Jones Soda Co. (JSDA) was down about another $2.00 per share, or over 7 percent.

ID Software ha appena annunciato l’ uscita di Enemy Territory: Quake Wars anche per le next-gen consoles.
Questo sparatutto multiplayer, gia in fase di sviluppo per PC da Splash Damage, si ispira alla saga di Quake e ad famoso mod, Enemy Territory. Si potrà scegliere tra quale delle due fazioni opposte disponibili far parte: umani o Stroggs.
Le versioni per xbox 360 e PS3 saranno curate rispettivamente da Z-Axis e Nerve Software.
L’ unica differenza tra le features riguarda il numero di giocatori nella modalità multiplayer: 16 per le consoles e 24 per i PC.
