La comunidad islámica de Albania rechazó que se utilice la imagen de la misionera católica albanesa Madre Teresa en el nuevo documento nacional de identidad, tal como planea el Gobierno, porque no representa a la mayorÃa de la población de credo musulmán.
Los promotores de este rechazo son las asociaciones islámicas de Shkodra, ciudad norteña en la que los musulmanes son mayorÃa y viven desde hace siglos en barrios separados de los católicos.
Las asociaciones "Beneficencia Islámica", "Cultura Islámica" y "Drita" (Luz) consideraron en una declaración conjunta que la intención del gobierno supone un "fuerte golpe contra el carácter laico del Estado y la tolerancia religiosa en Albania".

As I promised a revisit not long ago, I ventured back to Teresa’s Next Door for a look at the evening shift this past weekend.
