A nice movie about a boy and a girl who live their own magical world. The young heroine displayed wonderful acting and make viewers feel its not really a movie. The boy also supported her with her acting. His sister though talkative also remain in sweet memories of the movie. The boy acted well when he comes to know about his dear one left him.Good picturization. The movie stage was set in forest and it added to reality.Added to these are the relationships expressed between parent and a child in "lesslie"family and jack's family depicted how a family should not be. Thank you walt disney.

Based on the popular Newbery Award-winning novel, 'Bridge to Terabithia' is a fantasy/adventure story of friendship, family and the power of imagination from the producers of 'The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe.' Jess Aarons(Josh Hutcherson) is an outsider at school and even in his own family. Jess has trained all summer to become the fastest kid in his middle school class but his goal is unexpectedly thwarted by the new girl in school, Leslie Burke (Annasophia Robb) who competes in the "boys only" race and wins.Despite their awkward introduction, the two outsiders quickly become best friends. Leslie loves to tell stories of fantasy and magic. Jess loves to draw, but until he met Leslie it was something he kept to himself. Leslie opens a new world of imagination for Jess. Together they create the secret kingdom of Terabithia, a magical place only accessible by swinging on an old rope over a stream in the woods near their homes. There, the friends rule th
Jesse "Jess" Aarons comes from a poor farmer family with four annoying sisters, he finds no haven at school where he's teased by everyone. The only thing Jess has is running; after training all summer for the big race on the school athletic day, he and every other boy racing are beat by new girl Leslie Burke. Like Jess, Leslie is teased by her fellow students, but unlike Jess she doesn't let it bother her. After a rocky start, they find common ground and together create the imaginary world of Terabithia as a haven from their struggles at school and at home. Leslie teaches Jess to open his mind to every possibility and leave reality behind. But, after a tragedy occurs, Jess must trust in what Leslie has taught him to help over come the horrors that reality can bring. Written by O.G.Watch Bridge to Terabithia Here
What a lovely story, captivating, enchanting and a little sad. Any movie that can sweep me away to a place of mystery I find wonderful! It only take a few moments & I almost feel as though I am there, sharing the adventure. So come along as we hitch a ride with Jess & Leslie to a far away place where nothing is quite as it seems. A real look into the raw emotions of children & how they find a way to cope with the pressures of bullying & a no - fit society.Rating 8/10
Warning: this is Disney. This is a good sweet movie, but it’s a fairy tale for kids.
The plot: a 10-year old boy Jess from a poor family wants to be the fastest runner in his class, but he is outran by a new girl, Leslie, in Jess’ school, although the race was called a “boys only” race by their classmates. Not a good way to start a friendship. But they both have a lot of things in common: he is into drawing and she is very good at writing; both are tormented by bullies from the 8th grade. Together they venture into the near-by forest where they discover a swing-rope over a small river and an abandoned tree-house. There they create an imaginary world they can escape to from hard reality, where all the creatures they have to face are based on their tormentors in school. They also find a clever way to get back at bullies, but they find out that it only brought a short-lived satisfaction. They realize they are becoming bullies themselves. But eventually reality

Originally, I was going to pit Barbarella against Cherry 2000 this week because the new releases just weren’t filling me with excitement. But instead, I finally settled on Bridge to Terabithia and Eragon and found that one was horribly mis-marketed, but still a nice family film and the other was horribly derivative and deserves to be mocked. That’s what I do best. (more…)

Based on Katherine Paterson’s young-adult novel and filmed in picturesque New Zealand, Bridge to Terabithia has lessons to impart about empathy and self-expression, but the tone is never heavy-handed. Jesse (sleepy-eyed Josh Hutcherson, Zathura), a fifth-grade loner, lives in the country with his parents and four sisters, including pesky May Belle (Bailee Madison), who adores him. His strict father (Robert Patrick, The Terminator 2) works in a hardware store.
Money is tight and classmates make fun of his hand-me-downs, so Jesse finds refuge in running and drawing. Everything changes when two writers and their daughter Leslie (wide-eyed AnnaSophia Robb, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) move in next door. Leslie is faster than all the boys, which initially puts Jesse off, but the two soon bond over their love of make-believe. In the forest, they find a creek that can only be crossed by rope. Leslie names the land on the other side Terabithia, where they imagine themselves ru

An old proverb says a rich man has many friends. Friendship is definately the overriding theme in this movie. Based off the book by Katherine Patterson, Disney and Walden Media have given us the tear jerker of the year. When you watch this movie make sure you have a box of kleenexes. While friendship is by far an overriding theme in the movie there are several underriding themes in the film. One being the use of imagination. Having worked with kids for the last ten years of my life their imagination never ceases to amaze me. I often wish I could have just such an imagination. Something else that came out in the film was how much reality can kill your imagination. I was struck with how much Jesse Aarons, played by Josh Hutcherson, really began to embrace the new world being opened up to him by Leslie Burke, played by AnnaSophia Robb. Two kids, both outcasts strike up an unusual friendship that can literally create new worlds. This is the power of a young imagination.Another thing that ca
