Chronic Tendonitis - What's New In Treatment?
So, you've been diagnosed with tendonitis and you've gone through the usual types of treatment programs like physical therapy, anti-inflammatory drugs, and even cortisone shots. What else is available? Before we discuss the exciting new ways of managing chronic tendonitis, let's talk about what tendonitis is... and what it isn't. Tendons are thick cords of fibrous tissue that connect muscles to bones. It is this connection that allows joint motion. When muscles contract, they pull on the tendons which cause the bones to move. In order for tendons to glide they move inside a lubricated sheath of tissue that is lined with synovial tissue. This synovial tissue is the same type of tissue that lines the inside of joints. Tendonitis occurs when the sheath through which a tendon glides becomes in

Source: dailymail.co.uk Strictly Come Dancing hopeful Kate Garraway could be forced to pull out of the TV contest after suffering a crippling foot injury. The GMTV presenter has already stopped rehearsals for the show after her gruelling routines gave her tendonitis, where the tendons become inflamed and sore. She has been reduced to using crutches and is on doctor’s orders to rest her swollen, tender feet just days before the programme kicks off on Saturday. Now there are fears she could be unable to compete in the dance contest alongside the likes of Penny Lancaster, Kelly Brook, Alesha Dixon and Letitia Dean. Pills, Tendonitis, Books!
Dopey Email response from a friend today reveals I emailed her while under the influence of Ambien. “WEll…it looks like its workingbut i’m medicated. The screen is lumpy!” Last night I signed and addressed greeting cards whilst medicated. One was a “Congratulations!”; the other “With Sympathy”. Then, I licked ‘em shut and slapped on some stamps. I had to open one today to make sure I was routing them correctly. (So, now you know why your card was pried open, dear.) Carpel Tunnel Syndrome When I had a full-time gig a few months ago, I was very good about using my left hand to do all my mousing. I used to switch the mouse at home, too. (My husband finds it aggravating. Because it’s SOOOOOOOOOO much work to move the mouse back over to the right. Wears out the shoulder, you know.) For the last couple months, I’ve used my right hand exclusively (dirty!) and since starting this new jobby-job, my right arm is killing me. Rivet

      Tendonitis benches LeBron
As seen during the Boston Celtic game on Sunday, LeBron James was not able to play. On Monday doctors treated his right knee for tendonitis. The Cavs are to play the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight but the decision to play LeBron has not been finalized. Coaches say that they will asses his situation during warm ups, post game and then decide if he should play. This game is very important in the race to take the Eastern Conference so hopefully he is fully recovered by game time. Despite being immobilized on Monday, LeBron was awarded with Eastern player of the month. Let's hope he can return soon at 100%

Chronic Tendonitis - What is it? - How to treat it? by Steve Madigan
There are many people in the world that suffer from chronic tendonitis. This can be extremely unpleasant situation for those people. “Chronic” means recurring. Chronic tendonitis can affect the tendons in many different parts of the body. Tendons are the elastic tissue that connects the muscle to the bone. As we get older the tendons start to lose there elasticity due to age and normal wear and tear. The elderly are at a higher risk of developing chronic tendonitis. Sometimes with over use, these tendons will break or tear and then scar tissue will form. Scar tissue is not as flexible as the tendons themselves and with continued use inflammation and pain will occur. The specific areas that are most effected are, the shoulders, ankles, elbows and feet. The main problem with these areas is that they typically don’t have a chance to rest. We are using these parts constantly during the day. They never really get a chance to heal, other than when we sleep. What happens the
