The trip from the resort to Konark was along a very scenic tree lined road along the beach. There are quite a few places from which you can see the sea along the route and I wish I was on a motorcycle on this road as the road does not have any traffic and it also very smooth with no potholes.In Konark it is about a kilometer from where you have to get down to where the temple is located. Since it was quite hot we felt every step of this walk. I figured they must be still plugging away after they kicked Scott Weiland out due to his repeated drug use and subsequent trips to jail and/or rehab. well-- at first glance, this particular shot seemed to have some major problems for me: the blossoms were perfectly exposed but the temple doors and wall were way, way underexposed. and then, for whatever reason it dawned on me: that's what had struck me about this particular shot in the first place: the blossoms had seemed so brilliant as to be on fire, emitting a brilliance that dimmed everything around.

There was a small projection to a compound wall in front of one of the houses wherein a Ganesha Idol was kept and few local people worshipping it. Quite a harmless thing.But I happened to notice recently that a small makeshift fence has been set up around this box temple, occupying public land.No wonder, if this box temple will expand itself to occupy 50% of the road in next 6-12 months. Building places of religious worship is an easy way to make money and occupy precious real estate. Due to sensitive nature of the issue politicians and administration often hesitate to take stern action. Just keeping on record current scenario here, we’ll revisit this post after an year or so to see if the temple has occupied more space by expanding itself. quiet little place near kitashinagawa station; this temple lies on one of the tokyo temple pilgrimage walking trails that roughly follow the line of the old edo highway (the old, old road connecting Edo (current Tokyo) with Kyoto).
two nifty things i'd found out.
first: Tokyo's kanji (Japanese representation) is: 東京(都). kyoto's kanji is 京都(府). a long time ago, someone told me that the reason tokyo's kanji and kyoto's look alike has to do with history-- with tokyo's becoming the capital of japan. you see, the kanji "東" means "east"-- so, with a little simplification, "tokyo city" roughly means "eastern kyoto".

Sengkang murugan temple has been one of the popular temples in Singapore. It is both a murugan and gynamuneeswarar temple.
