The magic of Penn and Teller is generation gapping. The two talented magicians have now been performing together for over 30 years. And after all this time they show no signs of slowing down.
Their newest collaboration “Penn & Teller: Bullshit!” for the Showtime network, is in its fourth season. Over which time the controversial show has piled up an impressive six Emmy nominations and the 2004 WGA award for Outstanding Comedy/Variety Series.

This is a common scene at Woodlands Old Town, near Woodlands Checkpoint. It is not an unfamilar place to me. In fact, it is a place which I used to go very often during those days where Richard and I had cars and it was also a place where I came here with my family when I was young. Wife has started telling Little Miss a bed time story she has made up for her. It is all about a Princess who dances in her fairy costume, putting on a show for the whole extended circle of family and friends (who all have to be named individually). Of course everyone things this is the greatest most magical show they have ever seen etc. etc.
It is all extremely cute and adorable as Little Miss laps this up - as all toddler would. Each night the story gets a little more elaborate, with tonights addition being that of a rain dance as it is raining here. I will be honest that it is quite the production and Wife should be proud of her efforts.

Here’s a tip for all you fortune tellers that use your powers of persuasion to convince gullible clients to leave money to you in their wills. Don’t get greedy and have them leave everything to you. Tell them to leave you 10% or so, to avoid suspicion.

I saw Penn and Teller once live in Las Vegas when I was there for COMDEX in '99. There was pistols and rifles being fired, broken glass flying everywhere, juggling broken wine and whiskey bottles, balloons full of blood (simulated I assume) and catching bullets in their teeth. What more can you ask? They take on many of the preconceptions and blatant lies about Wal Mart and show the left for the lying scumbags that they are. Does that sound a bit confrontational? Laurel and Hardy with weapons is the only way that this reporter can think of to describe this slap stick act. Combine comedy, magic and pain and you have one of the hottest acts in Vegas.
Is this the best straight on magic show that I have ever seen? No. Is it entertaining? Definitely. Card tricks abound in outrageous and often times painful ways. Performers are shot at and dismemberment can occur, yet somehow it is not too gory to take the kids to.
This is a show that will always surprise and never disappoint. Check it out on your next trip to Vegas.
