These colorful teapots are from my wife's teapot collection which are placed on top of the cupboards in our kitchen. I started this painting over a year ago. I drew it out in pencil then I was afraid to paint it for fear of botching the whole thing. Last month I said "what the heck--if I botch it, I botch it and that's it". I am still trying to find my nitch with pen strokes. I like what I did her

One of 45 teapots on display in "Teapots: Object to Subject" selected from among the entries in the 2004 Survey of Contemporary American Teapots at the Craft Alliance in St. Louis, Missouri. The best of both established artists and the most promising, innovative new artists from the survey are represented.Exhibition curator Leslie Ferrin, author of Teapots Transformed: Exploration of an Object, has been curating exhibitions on contemporary teapots for more than 20 years. In this exhibition, Ferrin presents the concept that as the teapot becomes more abstracted, its function becomes less relevant. In effect, the subject of the work becomes the primary focus; the initial object, the teapot, becomes a secondary concern for the artist and the viewer.Richard Notkin is a full-time studio artis
Paul Cardew is back on the teapot trail again. As well as bringing out 2007 versions of the old traditional favourites teapots like the "Welsh Dresser" and "Tea Van", he is also bringing out some new fun and funky designs this year as well.Paul's "Inflatable Teapot" has already been covered by several newspapers in the area to do with a local charity and people have been coming in their droves to see them. These teapots are made to order and Paul is planning to produce them in several colours, to suit everyone's taste. The first 50 of the edition will be personally signed by Paul and backstamped. Paul is planning some other "inflatable" items in the range, which will be vases and bowls.
