A guy who purchased his wife a pocket Taser for their anniversary submitted this. Last weekend I saw something at Larry’s Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for a little something extra for my wife Julie. What I came across was a 100,000-volt, pocket/purse-sized taser. The whole issue of whether or not police officers should use taser guns because of recent deaths shortly following taser usage is front in center in Canada right now. I think this issue is worth a looking into. Call me a cynic, but I'm not biting on the whole sensationalized media angle on it. I was mentioning airport security in respects to the “War on Terror” earlier today.. I was watching Heroes the other night on TV. If you have not ever seen it, it is on Monday nights on NBC. It is a pretty good show with the main premise of ordinary people who woke up one morning with extraordinary powers, eventually leading up to trying to save the world from an bomb that will destroy New York City. As the tagline goes “Save the Cheerleader. Save the World.” I have seen a number of the episodes, but I have not followed it too closely. This past week’s episode that I caught was about traveling forward in time five years, showing what happened if the bomb was not prevented in the present day. The episode was packed full of the normal superhero action and excitement - invisibility, flying, shapeshifting, psychokenisis, etc. There was even a scene when Parkman pulls out a taser and zaps Hiro unconscious. Did you know that there's a huge 63 inch plasma TV that they're marketing out there? That is, if you're into that sort of thing. Something that did catch my eye was in today's USA Today. Apparently, there is going to be a new version of the controversial taser stun gun that's going to be put on sale (pictured above). What's new about this? Well, this is a smaller version that previous that can be stored in a purse or a backpack. Curious yet? The older model is big and bulky and cost about $1000.
