(Zitat Wiki)
Here’s a cool little site where you can make your own tartan patterns, so if you are a little tired of stripes give this one a go!
I had a quick play and found it really easy to use, I created one called “Pretty In Pink” which is now in the gallery. I thought I’d keep with my colour of the moment!
Go take a look, I’m sure you’ll have some fun as they say “Tartan Maker” - is “the new trendsetting application for cool designers.”

Just got home after a grand week up in Scotland. We stayed in the chalets at Na Tighean Beaga in Roy Bridge and over the week we bagged the Spean Gorge, Findhorn Gorge and the Garry after finding out it was releasing on Wednesday. The rivers were a bit on the low side so for two days I headed out to sea and explored the islands around Arisaig and paddled on Loch Hourn, which is north of the Knoydart peninsula.More updates, pictures and a feature length video to follow on my tartan adventure.Good lines, stay safe and see you on the wet stuff...Iain

The president of the Scottish Tartan Authority has hit out at the tourist tat shops spoiling the character of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, claiming that it resembles an eastern bazaar. He believes that tourists are being misled by £20 acrylic skirts masquarading as kilts. He believes that the Royal Mile should epitomise a quality ethos in this historic World Heritage Site.
Well you could argue it is down to market forces, these shops can only survive if they can make a profit Could Edinburgh City Council or the Scottish parliament only allow “quality” shops in the Royal Mile? I am glad that at least issues like these are being discussed as I blogged about the the Champs Elysees recently. I always feel that many beautiful locations are spoiled by cheap commercialism and have wondered if anything would or could ever be done about it. I have to say that Venice is one of the worst examples I have visited. It is such a beautiful city overun every street bulging with tourist
