From teamtancredo.org/ As a loyal friend and supporter it is important to me that you understand why I am doing this, even though you may disagree. For the past ten years I have dedicated my public life to the critical issue of illegal immigration. I believed then -as I do now—that massive uncontrolled illegal immigration threatens our survival as a nation. I could not stand by and let open border politicians and corporate lobbyists sell our country out to the highest bidder. Then earlier this year when I feared that the issue would not be championed by any of the top candidates I threw my hat in the ring. It was the only way I could be certain that the candidates would be forced to take a stand. Thanks to your incredible support look what we have accomplished:Just last week Newsweek declared that ""Anti-immigrant zealot [that would be me] had already won. Republican presidential candidate Tom Tancredo dropped out of the presidential race on Thursday. Tancredo has been polling in the single digits even in Iowa where immigration is a larger issue to voters. During his announcement Tancredo said that he would be endorsing…drum roll…Mitt Romney? Mitt Romney!? Well I guess it could have been worse, he could have endorsed Giuliani. Tancredo said he did not agree with Romney on all issues (no kidding) but said that Romney has had a "solid record†on immigration. Tancredo also said that Romney could go the distance in this election. The Colorado Representative said he knew he was a long shot for the nomination but was proud of the fact that he brought the issue of immigration to the forefront of this election. Tancredo said that he did not want to be a spoiler in this election and keep a candidate from being nominated that would protect our borders. Tancredo's endorsement comes exactly two weeks before
Darn! missed it by one day. Anyways, you can still listen to his Cuban campaign song- there's still hope for 2012! In the song, a Cuban immigrant attempts to comply with Tancredo's English-only law.

If you remember a post from last night I told you that the rumors were that Tom Tancredo was going to drop out of the race today. He did in fact do so. No surprise there. He had a chance to endorse another candidate. The surprise is who he did endorse.Tancredo has endorsed Mitt Romney.WHAT THE $#*%?Remember Tom Tancredo has really run on one issue and that is immigration. He is a hard liner on the issue. So he throws all of those principles down the garbage to endorse Romney? Thompson or even Ron Paul I can understand. BUT ROMNEY?! You've got to be out of your cotton pickin' mind, Tancredo, you sell out! I am embarrassed that I even considered supporting you for this election. Romney is even softer on Illegal immigration than Huckabee is perceived to be! Remember those illegals working of Romney's front lawn that he permitted? What about all those sanctuary cities that Romney did nothing about? Where do you get the idea that he even remotely matches your opinions on th
According to a posted item by the Ron Paul campaign, presidential candidate Tom Tancredo is expected to drop out of the race today. Tancredo is currently polling at about 6 percent in Iowa which would leave those votes up for grabs. 6 percent is not a huge number but it could be enough to influence another candidate enough in Iowa.
Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado is dropping out of the presidential election, but not out of politics. It's a shame, because he did express some of the most outstanding arguments regarding illegal immigration and even the dangers of jihad that could come with it, but I guess it was to be expected, as he wasn't getting high enough polling numbers. I certainly hope he'll run for Senate in the
Fox News and other outlets are running with a story that Colorado Rep Tom Tancredo will drop out of the Presidential Race tomorrow afternoon during a Press Conference in Des Moines, Iowa. So that leaves the question who will he endorse for the GOP nomination? Tancredo's pet issue is Illegal Immigration which would eliminate Rudy, Mitt, and McCain. That leaves Fred and Mike left. Mike is perceived as weak on the issue but Tancredo is closer to social issues and both of them vigorously support the FairTax. My guess is that Immigration trumps all and he will go with Fred. However I could and might very well be wrong. Stay tuned. I will come back with what happens tomorrow evening when I have some time.
Iowa 5th grader Beau Bowman's liberal parents were astonished when he asked Barack Obama what he'd do "when illegal immigrants 'start to take action and start bombing buildings and stuff.'" Looks like kids understand the consequences of open borders as well as anyone!

What ever happened to the politics of hope and a brighter future? Well, for the GOP, fear seems to be the only card that they ever play anymore. This ad by Tom Tancredo is perhaps the worst that I have seen in a long time. And note the explosion at the end...Happy Christmas shopping!
The Park Service has a history of keeping the Secretary of the Interior in the dark about the decisions it makes in his name. It is likely that Secretary Dirk Kempthorne has never been told about the many warnings of Islamic symbolism in the planned Flight 93 Memorial. Please help bring Dirk into the loop by pasting the following letter (or one of your own) into an email for him.
Dear Secretary Kempthorne:
Please heed Congressman Tom Tancredo's call to completely scrap the present design for the Flight 93 Memorial. The original Crescent of Embrace design would have planted a bare naked crescent and star flag on the crash site:
The memorial plaza that sits roughly in the position of the star on an Islamic flag marks the crash site. (Click pics for larger images.)
All the redesign did was add some trees to the west of the original crescent:
Aside from the recoloring of the site-plan image, the only actual change in the design is the additional arc of trees to the
Tancredo Unveils New Media Television Ad. From Tancredo for President - Official Campaign Site “Tough on Terror” will begin airing in Iowa this week(Des Moines, IA)-Presidential candidate Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) today unveiled a new hard-hitting television ad entitled “Tough on Terror” in Des Moines, IA. The ad depicts a terrorist who plants a bomb in a crowded shopping center in the United States while the voiceover assails, “…spineless politicians who refuse to defend our borders against those who come to kill.”“The consequences of uncontrolled immigration are far more serious than our leaders want us to believe. The safety of Americans and the security of our way of life are on the line. We need action now,” Tancredo said in a prepared statement today. While the television ad was the main attraction, Tancredo also introduced a complimentary radio ad in which he outlines his plan to resolve the problem this country faces from the irresponsible policies of Was

Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo has the guts to tell it like it is about the threat from illegal immigration and Islamic terrorists all in one quick new campaign commercial. As far as I am concerned, this is the closest yet that any candidate for the Presidency has come to actually confronting the greatest and most dire issue of our time: Islamism. Tancredo deserves high praise for this campaign spot, but I guarantee he will get just as much or more negative attention for being so bold, because that is the state of this nation of ours; we are constantly mislead by a Leftist media that is expert at playing ‘See no Evil, hear no Evil’ when it comes to the Islamist agenda.
Have a look and judge for yourself:

Republican presidential candidate Tom Tancredo says he will not seek re-election to his Colorado seat in the House in 2008.
The four-term lawmaker said illegal immigration, his core issue, now has national prominence and he doesn’t need to remain in Congress to promote it.
Tancredo does plan to continue his bid for the White House in 2008, however recent polls have him tracking in the low single digits.

In a disappointing development, Tom Tancredo (R-CO) told Fox News on Monday that he will not seek a sixth term in The House of Representatives in next years election regardless of the outcome of the presidential election. It was Tancredo's initial intention to stay for only three terms in The House. However during his second term, he decided to continue serving his country in an effort to battle illegal immigration.Representative Tom Tancredo has been an invaluable ally in the fight against illegal immigration and is a staunch conservative. The last thing the U.S. House needs is one less person fighting the good fight. In this interview Tom Tancredo lays it out short and sweet. Bush is claiming a victory not due him. Our troops are doing their job spectacularly well but as always the problems come from their political leaders. When we went into Iraq we had the Rumsfeld Doctrine of "light, fast and agile". Normally I would seldom to never suggest initiating a law suit. But in the case of the three college students killed by the illegal alien in Newark, NJ I would most heartily endorse the idea. The city of Newark is a so-called 'sanctuary city' meaning it refuses to enforce federal immigration laws. Thats why the illegal alien that killed those three college students was released after being arrrested TWICE of which one time was for raping a five year old girl. Yes you read that right. These empty headed kumbaya singing liberals that make dipshit decisions like declaring cities as havens for illegals should be made to feel intense pain for their decisions. And I am talking the financial pain of the victims families being given many millions of Newark's dollars. As I said originally I dont normally encourage law suits. This is dirty politics at its very worst. I am sure we will never find this directly traceable to any specific candidate but that does not mean they are not gaining benefit from it. Considering Tancredos outspoken stance on the immigration issue, I am sure that illegal alien activist groups are on the short list of suspects. The question I would be asking is how did whoever is responsible get the email list in the first place. It could be as simple a staffer on the Tancredo campaign team not shredding office trash. However, it could also be as sinister as someone on the inside with a grudge. Whatever the root causes this is something that should be denounced and not tolerated by all candidates. Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo’s campaign stood by his assertion that bombing holy Muslim sites would serve as a good “deterrent” to prevent Islamic fundamentalists from attacking the United States, his spokeswoman said Friday.
“This shows that we mean business,” said Bay Buchanan, a senior Tancredo adviser. “There’s no more effective deterrent than that. But he is open-minded and willing to embrace other options. This is just a means to deter them from attacking us.”
On Tuesday, Tancredo warned a group of Iowans that another terrorist attack would “cause a worldwide economic collapse.” IowaPolitics.com recorded his comments.

Colorado Republican presidential hopeful Tom Tancredo has decided to set the goalposts for handling immigration here in the good old United States and he’s presented some legislation highlighting his ideas. According to the Denver Post, that legislation “covers topics as varied as placing limits on family-based immigration, imprisoning employers of illegal immigrants and penalizing states that help illegal immigrants attend state-funded schools.”
Curiously, Tancredo admits that he “doesn’t expect U.S. House leadership to allow a vote on his legislation” which means, to me, that it is a god-damned stunt and not an honest attempt to address an issue. Tancredo is showboating.

Congressman Tom Tancredo has an interesting way of disagreeing with the awful head of the DHS, Michael Chertoff, on his statement that the agriculturual industry would suffer without amnesty for illegal aliens: he's sending him a head of lettuce and a fruit basket.I think it can be said that quite a few people are still waiting for Chertoff to announce his long overdue resignation, BTW.Others on the subject include Michelle Malkin, American Pundit, Bill's Bites.
The bold congressman has passed his most successful bill in the past few years (Hat tip: Day In Day Out and Hot Air). Tom Tancredo, who is a Colorado Republican, said that having the Congressional Black Caucus and other assemblies that are race-based need to be abolished because they lead to segregation. He said, “It is utterly hypocritical for Congress to extol the virtues of a colorblind society while officially sanctioning caucuses that are based solely on race.”

He also said Thursday that “if we are serious about achieving the goal of a colorblind society, Congress should lead by example and end these divisive, race-based caucuses.”

Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo (R) wants to end all race based caucuses. His reason? Tancredo told The Hill: "You should not have any organization, a caucus especially, based solely on race. Colorado Republican Rep Tom Tancredo has never been all that serious about running for President. He has often stated that he knows he would not be nominated, let alone elected. His candidacy is dependent on his own view as to whether or not his central issue - illegal immigration - is being taken seriously enough by others within his own party, and you never really get a clear idea whether he thinks it is or not. So the latest story from the Denver Post - brought to my attention in the Oval Office 2008 Forum, and also mentioned in Race 4 2008 - strikes me as less than the firm withdrawal it is being billed as."I get the feeling that I will not have to do this," Tancredo told the Post. Sounds pretty vague to me. If Al Gore or Condi Rice had said it, people would have interpreted it as a virtual announcement of their candidacy rather than their withdrawal. The Post adds that "Tancredo is acting less and less like a potential presidential contender," but going around telling people

CBS reports on the event in three short paragraphs to highlight Tancredo's strong immigration stance, and then follows-up the article with notes on Fmr. New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Senator John McCain of Arizona. The ditty ends with the announcement that Fmr. Governor of Oklahoma Frank Keating has decided NOT to seek the GOP presidential nomination in '08. I guess we can count one of the, "Dwarves," out. I assume McCain is breathing a minor sigh of relief that a guy named, "Keating," isn't in the race to remind voters of his scrape with scandal in the early 1990's. As an aside: what bad luck for Tancredo that he chooses to announce his committee on the same day that Obama announces his. Let's hope for Tancredo's sake that this

A few months ago, a couple of people asked me why I hadn't taken Colorado Republican Rep Tom Tancredo out of the Oval Office 2008 Rankings when he had - in their view - clearly declared that he was out of the running. I had seen enough of Tancredo's flirtation with a presidential bid to know that - whether prompted by self-doubt or just a tactical feint - his pronouncements of disinterest in the White House would always be swiftly followed by hints that he might just change his mind.Consider this story from the Congressional Quarterly, printed at the end of last week in the New York Times. Tancredo would shortly be heading to Iowa, CQ noted, where he would be talking on his pet topic of immigration and also meeting local GOP bigwigs. Presidential politics was clearly on the agenda but not, according to Tancredo spokesman Carlos Espinosa. "Espinosa refuted a report in the Des Moines Register that Tancredo would announce this weekend that he is settling up a fundraising committee t
