Rather than talk about a “real estate” issue this week, per se… I want to address the topic of taking action and getting started - and being accountable.
I’m going to warn you that this might be a little hard, but I’m getting tired of all the “poor me” stuff going on out there. [...]
Yesterday it got bad.
The $700 billion bailout did NOT get agreed.
The Dow dropped by nearly 800 points.
Major banks in seven different countries either went broke, got bought up or bailed out by their respective governments. Today the Asian and London markets have been in freefall.
Let's agree - the bubble has very definitely burst. The economy isn't working in the USA and the global financial

Building muscle and losing fat is 80% behavior and only 20% know-how.
So by taking the steps of accepting responsibility, identifying specifically what you want to achieve, and choosing to make the commitment to go after it, our natural progression of movement leads us to the point of taking action to achieve your dreams.

you've probably spent some time in the working world- the world where you sell your time for money, either hourly or salaried. It amounts to the same thing- drudgery.
Are you a business owner considering this sales action or that marketing strategy? You want to know everything before you make a decision. In today's hectic world of fast paced living and competitive work arena, it's no longer a wonder that a lot of people suffer from the negative effects of depression, anxiety, and stress.
Stress is the body's reaction to events that confront it; on the whole, stress can be connected with anxiety and depression at times. When depression, anxiety, and stress unite overwhelmingly, it becomes a form of overstress. Overstress will take its toll on the body, both physically and mentally, and so it is essential that one takes action to manage overstress.
Some helpful tips for reducing one's pressure load includes: lessening the "pace of change†in one's life; reducing school or work obligations; diminishing social obligations; saying "no†more often; reducing environmental toxins; postponing changes in one's living situation; and eliminating possible environmental or food allergens. Keep in mind that the initial step to an effective depression, anxiety, and stress manag
Building Community--Taking ActionThe Healing of One Person Benefits the Whole CommunityMental health treatment no longer is confined to an institution but continues in the community. A community-based system of services promotes self-determination, empowerment, recovery, and the highest possible level of community participation in work, relationships, and all aspects of community life. In this community and others, those who suffer from a mental illness learn how to stay healthy and how to minimize relapses through the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) started by Mary Ellen Copeland. Jo-Amrah McElroy, M. Ed., will share her work experiences in the Virginia mental health system as Virginia helps to build community for those who are recovering from a mental illness. She will address the hopes and dreams for Virginia’s recovery movement and where it can go. She states, “Recovery from a mental illness involves more than recovery than the illness itself. People who have a mental illn

The best way to learn—and unlearn—is to take action. Remember that your Body Freedom is your responsibility. (...)
One of the things I am passionate about is doing whatever I can to promote knowledge and awareness of breast health and cancer prevention. Cancer (especially breast cancer) has touched the lives of my immediate family and several close friends.I coordinate (along with 4 other "fabulous" women) an annual fundraiser luncheon which joins survivors, friends, and family for an afternoon of hope and sharing. We just had our annual luncheon in August, and we raised thousands of dollars for The American Cancer Society.October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. You've probably already known about this, saw a banner in a blog, received a note from a friend, participated in a walk or run, or any of the many other ways the word is passed. From one woman blogger to another, I encourage you to acknowledge this month in your own way.Visit The Breast Cancer Site and click to provide needed mammography services to others. If you don't know how, or just haven't done it lately, perform a breast self exam

The amount of melanin in ones body defines the protection that the skin will have from the sun. Those with dark skin have more melanin in their body than the ones with light skin. African American skin care tends to be overlooked for that reason. Dark skin people think that they need not worry from our powerful sun. This is a common mistake. Black skin care is important at all ages and can be highly challenging. Although African American skin is protected more than other skin types, there are basic protection steps that have to be addressed. Let's take a little side trip and talk about melanin. It's a skin pigment that gives color to your skin. If you see a light-skinned person with freckles, what you are seeing is someone with little spots of melanin. A freckle is created by small concentration of melanin. When you get tanned by the sun, what is actually happening is that the sun triggers melanocytes which are cells in your skin to produce more melanin. The melanin moves to the out
That is so very true, Manny. One of the traits of successful people is that they are open to opportunity. Because we have no idea what form our intentions will manifest themselves in we must keep our eyes and our minds open at all times.
In my last post, I talked about not taking action. As I am looking at my post, I remember that at one point in my life I probably would have not taken action myself. I would have been consumed with humility and not acted for fear of what others would think if I admitted I had not achieved my goals in life. Well, hogwash! It is a very sad state that I lived in such a non-empowering state, and many people live the same way now. Just think, you have not succeeded (failed), and to choose success you have to admit it to yourself and change what you are doing. Successful people take action and admire others who take action. It takes intestinal fortitude to step out of your box and claim your life. Fear (false evidence appearing real) can totally control your life only if you choose to let it.Fear is the exact opposite of faith but yet they are the same thing. Both are believing in something you can not see. Personally, I choose faith in making my choices and it has proven to be an
