Here is what happens during a Phillies tailgate against the Mets when some alcohol, a Jose Reyes Bobblehead and a 9 iron come into play… (There is an F-bomb thrown in at the end so if your speakers are up and you are at work, you have been warned.)
Nothing reminds me more of my childhood growing up in the summer than the smell of a freshly cut piece of watermelon. Building on that memory, nothing reminds me more of tailgating baseball games (when I was 21, of course) in the summer than the smell of a piece of watermelon completely saturated in liquor. [...]
How many numbers have you committed to memory? Your Social Security Number, your Driver’s License, home phone number, Bank ATM PIN, wife’s cell phone number, kid’s birthday, your wedding anniversary. The list goes on and on. By the time it comes to remembering the combination of numbers on your padlock you may as well bring [...]
Being able to watch TV while tailgating can be a pain because you either need a generator or a killer power inverter that will eventually drain your car’s battery. Now you don’t need either. Sharp has designed a TV that is 100% solar powered. Now you can be a little environmentally friendly while still staying [...]
Tampa Bay Rays left handed pitcher Scott Kazmir likes a lot of things. Striking guys out, his team above .500 for the first time in a long time and oh yeah, a four-year contract extension that pays him $3.785 million in 2008. Apparently all that money hasn’t gone to his head because he still finds [...]
I’ve always held onto the belief that the tailgating food served outside the stadium is 10 times better than anything you can buy inside. The cost savings alone is enough reason to fire up the grill and fill up in the parking lot. We even told you about one minor league baseball team offering “Fowl [...]
I typically do not post videos of commercials but this one caught my eye. I am willing to make an exception of this one because it made me laugh. It looks to be a viral commercial for Honda Generators designed strictly for the web. I just thought grandmothers talking smack and tailgating was worth sharing.
I come across tons of tailgating videos of people doing beer bongs, taking jell-o shots or shotgunning beers everyday. Normally these videos contain nothing worth sharing that you haven’t already seen before. At first glance this video could be lumped in with all the rest except two things jumped out at me.
1. Debbie (the girl [...]
Back in late April I told you about Pong University and how they offer custom printed beer pong balls. The gang at Pong University thanked me for the article by sending me eight custom printed beer pong balls complete with the Tailgating Ideas logo. Way cool. Four balls were regular white balls while the [...]
by The Backyard Scrawlerbackyardscrawl@gmail.com Here’s a modest proposal for Pittsburgh football fans: tailgate a College Pro Day. If there are any fans that you would put it past it is the “Steeler Nation.” (Aside: As much as I appreciate the loyalty of Steeler fans across the country, I cringe at this borrowed nickname.) Anyway, if you were denied a hotel room in Pittsburgh last April because of the influx of Steelers fans invading Heinz Field to watch the NFL Draft (live from New York), you know it doesn’t take much to get charcoaled-fueled “Here We Go, Steelers” chants ignited. And, of course, there was this outside of Mercy Hospital awhile back. Dates, schools and times of all the College Pro Day workouts are available here, complete with the pro day leaderboard. Someone,
I don't know about you, but this is an issue that really pisses me off. Most other unsafe road actions are not as intentional as tailgating. An unsafe pass, unsafe lane change, forgotten signal or even running a red light or stop sign may be a momentary lapse of judgment, but getting close and personal with a vehicle in front of you at 70 miles per hour shows either ones aggression or shear ignoran

When I was in college my college had no football team. Our big thing was basketball, and soccer. Not to start any debates, but neither one were my sport of choice. I enjoy watching football. I don't exactly know why. I mean, I played in high school but I was terrible. I mostly got water for the rest of the team. My wife has a friend who's husband is so into Penn State football that I thought he had been on the team. He hadn't, but his dedication to the team stemmed from the excitement of growing up with a great football team near him that his family could go to to cheer on. They all love the team. They tailgate and have a great time. My college eventually got football but the local police won't let anyone tailgate on the property. This stinks because tailgating and football go hand in hand. I have this dream that one day I will have my own tow behind smoker that I can take with me tailgating. I would also use it to have cookouts and pig roasts after long kayaking adventures. It wou
In this week’s history-making 12th edition, Jetsgab.com Editor Blake Kelley (collarbone, knee) makes a triumphant return after missing last week’s action with some excruciating pain, as he teams up with Bearsgab.com Writer Russ Loede on the set in “Gab Studios” for yet, another, entertaining episode of your favorite show on the web. The dynamic duo goes around the league talking about the 3 best and worst games of Week 3, as they give you lots of insight, along with the “downlow” on each of these games. The gang takes their chance by putting themselves in the shoes of an offensive coordinator/defensive coordinator, when they discuss what they would’ve done better to change the outcome of a specific game. Players with the most pressure to succeed in Week 4 will be covered, as will the best impact players, while a trip down the miserable, injury avenue makes its way towards key players that are hurting, with their team’s chances in jepordary. Th
Football season is upon us once again. Freedom Grill has dubbed their FG-100 as "The Official Grill of Tailgating". At a retail price of $900, it had better be. This ingenious outdoor grill mounts on the back of your vehicle where you'd usually see bikes or a spare tire. All you have to do to set it up for cooking is swing it out from the hitch and set the leg.Of course, it's also made for camping and other outdoor adventures. Still, you gotta love showing up with this thing before a game. It'll sure annoy the guy next to you swatting over his hibachi.
In the highly anticipated 7th edition of the “hit” show, experts Blake Kelley from Jetsgab.com and Russ Loede from Bearsgab.com discuss an array of interesting topics that include the Top 10 Athletes of “yesterday” (80-90s) and “today” (new age), the Top 5 offenses, and the Top 5 Greatest NFL Games of the present era. The episode also features a Bears and Jets talk segment, as it also covers the free-agents who are still looking for team to sign with. The duo will display a variety of “take your pick” questions, that will raise eyebrows, looking at the best venue/stadium to host a Super Bowl - L.A. Colisuem or the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The 1-2 punch concludes the show with a delightful Fantasy Football (It’s that Time of the year) preview, with the Top 5 list of players who don’t get the “pub”. In the excitement-filled, half-hour, these two professionals give you an insightful chat, with their thoughts about

Uber tailgater Jay DiEugenio, 'The Tailgate Guy' is piping hot because his grill isn't."It's been a tough season for tailgating. First Penn State shuts down parties during the game, and now the NFL bans tailgating at the Super Bowl. Tailgating is not a crime!"The Miami Dolphins are fine with the common folk grilling and downing some pregame brews, but it's the No Fun League that ain't."And there is no tailgating anywhere within a one-mile radius of the stadium … and there are no RVs allowed."
