      Nine-tailed demon fox from Naruto
The nine-tailed demon fox is the most powerful of the tailed beasts. It is regarded as an age-old natural disaster, as a single swipe of one of its tails can raise tsunamis and flatten mountains. Twelve years before the start of the series, the fox attacked Konohagakure. Its attack was stopped by the Fourth Hokage, who gave his life to seal the fox into his son, Naruto Uzumaki. Eastern Tailed-Blue Butterfly
Recently I came across a small light colored butterfly in my garden that at first glance I thought was a Small Cabbage White I had seen in my garden here in Chicago. When I approached the butterfly it fluttered away revealing a blue or gray tint to the upper leaves. I knew immediately this wasn't a Small Cabbage White. Some quick research lead me to believe that I had come across a Gray Hairstreak Butterfly. Even though the underside pattern looked the same the pattern on the underside of this butterfly is broken while on the Gray Hairstreak it is one continuous band.To finally settle my curiosity I posted on the Butterfly Gardening forum on GardenWeb to see if people with more knowledge could help me find the true identity of this butterfly. Today I learned that this butterfly in my garden is actually an Eastern Tailed-Blue that is common to eastern North America. This butterfly is on the small side, 13⁄16 to 11⁄8 inches across, and feeds on legumes and their larva is protected b

Bright Eyed & Bushy Tailed with Hylexin
For those of us cursed with dark circles, ones that keep us concealer-crazed because we couldn’t fathom leaving the house without hiding them, there’s finally hope on the horizon with HYLEXiN. If you were about to give up because nothing has ever worked, you must try this one. This formula seems to cure the problem, not mask it. I’ve been applying Hylexin twice daily for the last 7 weeks now and my circles have absolutely started to fade. I’m guessing the difference is dramatic because many have remarked how well rested I look lately, ha, they should only know. Miracles do occur and it’s inside this .78oz tube. How does it work? Well, we don't claim to be chemists at Cybelesays. We just know when something does the job right. Yes, it’s a little pricey but very little is needed per application and how can you put a price tag on ridding yourself of raccoon eyes? $95 @ hylexin.com ~Randi

      Shingleback or "Stumpy-tailed Lizard"
Click for 719kb imageThese Shingleback lizards are widespread throughout the Flinders Ranges. This image was taken in the Central Flinders at 2.38pm September 2006.These skinks are common here on the family farm as well and love to raid my garden for flowers, the Gazania one of their favourites. When my husband was growing strawberries the plants had to be fenced off with netting or these guys would pinch them for their own supper.I have always referred to them by the name of 'Sleepy Lizard' and you can read more about these reptiles by clicking on this PDF file.Quick links:Free Subscription to SnapShots by Email technorati tags: images, photos, snapshots, free photos, free images, lizards, reptiles, sleepy lizard

Chronic Wasting Disease Not Detected In Virginia White-tailed Deer
Chronic Wasting Disease Not Detected In Virginia White-tailed Deer Richmond, VA — After extensive testing, the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (VDGIF) has not found any evidence of chronic wasting disease (CWD) in Virginia's white-tailed deer population. In 2006, over 800 samples were collected from white-tailed deer throughout the state. Approximately 500 samples were collected from the active surveillance area, which includes the western and northern parts of Shenandoah, Frederick, Clarke and Loudoun Counties, the area of Virginia closest to where CWD has been detected in West Virginia. VDGIF Wildlife Division Director Bob Duncan said of the test results, "This is clearly good news, and we could not have achieved this without the hard work of the field biologists, and the cooperation and support of our partners. In particular, we owe a debt of gratitude to the staff of the Virginia Department of Transportation for their assistance with collecting road-killed dee
