Both she and Dave had given up their occupations - Liz a microbiologist in journalism and Dave a technical translator - to come and live on Islay and they were running a small letterpress general printing business, starting with a hand-operated Adana in Dave's parents' ex-coalshed. They also printed for tourism, with Liz doing pen-and-ink drawings for what was upgraded to a hand-fed Victorian power platen press, up the hill in Damaoidh. They produced their first 'Islay Calendar' in 1976. On Michael Goode's blog he says this in reference to your strategy: "Even assuming that some strategy works, if enough people follow that strategy it will cease to work." I on't quite understand it because isn't that true for every strategy anyway, patterns change etc. In the TIM approach, it's a play against the HYPE. And hype will never go away. Sure, I guess the intraday pattern might change, but there's always going to be absurd spikes on bullshit news...there will ALWAYS be a way to play that...recognize what's real hype, and go against it when the time is right, and stay disciplined. This way you don't get hurt by the bullshit financial journalists and bullshit management and their press releases

      Wanda Sykes
Wanda Sykes has to be my all time favorite comedian. I just recently acquired two of her stand up comedy dvd’s which would be 1. Tongue Untied 2. Sick and Tired Of the two I totally recommend Sick and Tired but just be sure that you know that these are not meant to be watched around children especially “Sick and Tired” and neither is the attached video clip (contains adult content/language) so this clip may be offensive to some. But it is my favorite scenes from anything I have ever seen from her. Behold the five minute “detachable vagina” (ok that is the nice word) scene from “Sick and Tired” Click here to buy me a coffee If you liked this post (only $3.50)

      Who is Tim Sykes?
Around two weeks ago while scanning through Elite Trader I saw two threads, one titled "Will you buy Timmay's Hedgefund book?" and the other "Hedge Fund Book." In the latter thread I saw a picture of a young guy sitting in his living room wearing a shirt with an imprint, Timmay. I read the first few pages of the thread and I was laughing at some of the jokes that some of the posters made about Tim. I was short on time so I never got to finish the thread. A day or two later I received a comment and it was from none other than Tim Sykes himself. At first I thought it was some kind of sales spam because he talked about his amazing annual returns of over 100%. Sometime later I saw a positive review on Tim's book, the American Hedgefund by Captain Kirk. That piqued my interest so I contacted Tim and he sent me an advance copy.Tim started trading around 1998 with $12k of his bar mitzvah money. In his book he details how he was able to run up his little startup capital into well

Violence In The Middle East And The Sykes-Picot Agreement
Practically all the modern states of the Middle East were influenced by the Sykes-Picot Agreement. This Agreement has caused more death and destruction than any other Middle East Document. The Sykes-Picot Agreement has literally been the cornerstone of Europe's and England's Middle East policy since its acceptance and enactment in May of 1916. The agreement was originally a secret document that was initiated by Mark Sykes - a Briton and Francois Georges-Picot - a Frechman. It's purpose was to establish territorial control and spheres of influence in what is now the Middle East and other areas that belonged to the Ottoman-Turks.The various policy positions of the French and British governments on the Palestinian and Jewish issues during the 1920s, 30s, during and After World War II can be traced to Skyes-Picot and its subsequent agreements and the Balfour Declarations of 1917 and 1926. Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter - New Album + Tour Dates
Barsuk records released the new album from Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter earlier this month, and its hard not to first be a little worn out by the lengthy album title (Like, Love, Lust & The Open Halls of the Soul) that follows an already long band name. However, once you digest that and move towards the music, its a much more forgiving process. The band that started as a duo of Jesse Sykes and former Whiskeytown band member Phil Wandscher began writing and playing together and later brought on the rest of the Sweet Hereafter, as they are now known. The new album sees Sykes displaying a more weathered vocal style and the band a more produced sound. There are some really upbeat tunes on the album like “You Might Walk Away” and “I Like The Sound”. With the latter bringing to mind a Grace Slick sound and the former with a tipping of the cap to Cat Power. But the twang that brought Sykes and company to the dance isnt being neglected in the corner and
